Seeing how the old BSN didn't allow polls I thought it would be interesting to see which are your favourite Inquisition zones here on the new forum. None stand out as exceptional so instead I've set it to 3 votes per person for a broader result.
My favourites -
Western Approach - I like seeing it evolve as you stabilise the area, and finding out there's an archdemon under my feet was really cool. I disliked it at first *boo desert boring yawn* but then I tried to read everything and really understand the area. I ended up really enjoying it.
Crestwood - Draining the flooded area was pretty great, more involved than most of the side quests. I love the contrast of the dark foreboding zone turning into bright sunshine after you've done it.
Then I'm stuck between.... Exalted Plains - The First World War vibe and struggle of the Dalish was really interesting, suddenly coming across a trench in the middle of the rolling hills struck a chord.
Emerald Graves - Mainly for the time I wandered into an old chateau. My World of Warcraft mind thought 'oh dear, I don't have the quests for this...better google it' only to find that there are no quests. It's purely there for those who happen to walk by, with a good story inside too. I love the fact that BioWare made the effort to do that but didn't send you there. You have to find it yourself organically. Plus the area is a nice visual break from all the deserts and rainy places.
Least favourite -
Emprise du Lion got old real quick, templars templars templars oh fuck 3 dragons. Fallow Mire is too swampy and miserable. Hissing Wastes had an intriguing dwarven story, an important bit of lore that ended up going nowhere and being underwhelming. I did enjoy questing at night though, and having to search for lantern light off in the distance.

I'm one of the weirdos who actually enjoy Hinterlands, because I appreciate the forest/mountains landscapes plus my favorite quests are set there.
For aesthetic reasons, I pick Emerald Graves and Crestwood. Crestwood also gets a thumbs-up for its quest line.
My least favorites are Western Approach and Hissing Wastes, because sand. Way too much sand.

I enjoy the Hinterlands as well, and have in fact developed a sort of sentimental attachment to it over time.
I picked Emprise du Lion and Crestwood as my other two. Crestwood because I like the call-back storyline to the Blight and getting a little insight into how it affected people outside the Wardens' reach, the difficult decisions they were forced to make, etc. Emprise because I enjoyed the aesthetic of the place a lot.
Fallow Mire, Hissing Wastes and Exalted Plains can all get nuked from orbit.

Hissing Wastes is the best. It's the only zone that actually feels somewhat believable. Everywhere else is way too overpopulated for their size. And it's beautiful.
After that, dunno really.

Storm Coast leads my top-3. Maker, I had no idea it was possible to make such a thing out of a small side-quest area from DAA. It had an outstanding design on the old Aurora engine too, but what they had made to it in FB is absolutely amazing.
Western Approach comes next, but it's hard to say whether it's from design per se or from my love for the Asunder. All I can say that it's everything I've imagined about hte place (and may be a bit more)
Emerald Graves takes the 3rd line, alough I enjoy Crestwood too.
The most hated one would be Hinterlands (because it's too damn huge and full of irrelevant side-content) and Hissing Wastes (which is almost as huge as Hinterlands and has no purpose whatsoever, basically it's a moonlit Western Apporach clone).

Hissing Wastes My Inquisitor likes taking long strolls on the endless beach. Plus it has one of the best quests, the Tomb of Fairel. It has a lot of good stuff to collect.
The other two are Forbidden Oasis and Emprise du Lion

Emerald Graves is a gorgeous place to walk around in once pesky bears and bandits are cleared out. Would almost be a nice place to live in if not for the giant spiders, the haunted mansion...the dragon...what nutjobs thought it was a great idea to build open air pavilions in that area?!
The Hissing Wastes is strangely soothing with the night setting and odd surprises like that spirit of faith disguised as a traveling Chantry pilgrim.
I think I'll have to say I like walking through the Storm Coast. Sure it's damp and constantly raining, but it has a Dragon fight with a Giant! That was a moment that requires popcorn and flag pennants!

Hissing Wastes. I love the huge open space ("This space is nothing but...space.") and it's a night with the moon shining bright. I'm a night owl and love the moon. Overall win. Liked the ambience. Plus I enjoy the fact that the quests in this zone don't hold your hand the entire way.
Emerald Graves because I love forests, trees, and green everywhere. I will wander the zone just to wander.
Forbidden Oasis because it's so damn peaceful and pretty in the Intrinsic Pool. I know a lot of people hated the maze and platforming that is the Oasis, but I loved that it wasn't just a wide open space.
Honorable mention: Exalted Plains. I enjoy the sad beauty of the area, not so much the annoying undead.

My favorites: Crestwood and Hinterlands for the quests/story and Emerald Graves for the beautifull environment.
My least favorite: Exalted Plains

Emerald Graves - It's easily the most beautiful zone to me. I love the lush forest.
Hissing Wastes - I love that you get to travel at night. It's so much more beautiful than the Western Approach. It feels empty and lonely, and I just really like the vibe I get from it. It also has some interesting quests.
Crestwood - I like seeing the big difference you can make here as you complete the main story.
My least favorite is by far the Exalted Plains. It just gets so tiresome after a while, although I do enjoy the Dalish clan and learning more about Dalish history. But it has far too many Orlesians in it.

I chose Crestwood, Emprise du Lion, and Hissing Wastes. Crestwood for the cohesive story, the change in atmosphere from creepy and stormy night to sunny and bright day, and cool lore finds. I like Emprise for the challenging combat and the snowy scenery, and Hissing Wastes for the amazing atmosphere, big beautiful moon and gorgeous terrain, it reminds me of a dream I had once.

I was going to vote Arbor Wilds.
Then recalled it wasn't a Zone. Bah Humbug. I liked the color, the water falls, the birds/parrots, and how there was a point to moving forward and the ancient elven Temple. And we never get to visit again.
I love the Moon in the dessert. I remember it being one of the few zones that I appreciated right off the bat because there wasn't all this stuff in my way. I can just ride my horse, and think, and change angles to look at the moon.
I think the third place I super visually appreciated was the under ground ocean with lyrium lighting up the dark in the Descent DLC. Aww, I can't vote for that either?
I liked the beach in Jaws of Hakkon. I liked taking boats to places, and that only happened in two zones. Also not an option to vote for.
Then I guess the moon place wins by default. Crestwood for it's weather and interesting story. It also had a bit of an Ireland/Scotland feel to it (in my imagination, anyway, as I've never been.) And the Storm Coast for it's weather and access to the ocean.
I LIKE MOONS, WEATHER, AND OCEANS apparently.

My three... Emerald Graves: My favorite region in the main game. Gorgeous landscape, lighting, chateaus... Forbidden Oasis: Love the topography of this region. I'd build a chateau here if I could! Fallow Mire: They really nailed the oppressive atmosphere of the mire and it really stands out from the other areas in the game. Other than the options in the OP, I'd also add the Wellspring (Descent), the Crossroads (Trespasser) and the Frostback Basin (Hakkon).

The Emprise Du Lion, Emerald Graves and the Exalted Plains. Mostly because of their history--both ancient and recent. Except for the Emprise, that I mostly like for the scenery. I just really like snow.

My 3 faves. 1) Fallow Mire: I dig the creepy atmosphere and I love the rain animation in this game. A nice small area for me to explore and I would happily take undead over bears any day. My only problem with it is fighting the terror demons at each magical inscription. At the start of the game they can seriously kick my ass if I'm not careful. 2)Storm Coast: Once again, love the rain animation and that we get to see a dragon fight a giant. Also, while there are still bears there are not to many bears. Also, that sea animation. 3)Crestwood: I loved it when we first go there, that creepy atmosphere, that rain animation. Also, a rather small area. I don't really like big maps.

In that order. But give me the small locations of Dragon Age 2 over these unending mazes any day.

Enjoyed:
Emprise du Lion - Loved this zone. It felt more Dragon Agey then the other zones.
Emerald Graves - Pretty zone. Shame they did not add in more enemies like sylvans and maybe a varterral.
Hissing Wastes - This place has grown on me. Lots to do and the Dwarven Quest is interesting; espeically if you take Varric with you.
Hated:
Exalted Plains - Dull, boring and the Dalish camp was a joke. Furthermore the desecration quest to get a Mosaic Piece was a poor place to put said piece.
Forbidden Oasis - Up, Down, Up, Down. Ugh! Not to mention finding all the shards for some piss poor rewards was unnerving.
Western Approach- Running around in another desert getting attacked constantly by hyenas and quillbacks is not by any means fun.

The Hinterlands: Original and best, huge and beautiful. L'Emprise De Lion: Snow, and things to do that sort of make sense (free the miners, capture the castle, kill the demon, save the village as opposed to catch the magic goat..) The Emerald Graves: But not the bit with the giants in it. Loved Chateau D'Onterre though.

emerald graves is the most pretty one
the most fun I guess I would go with hinterlands and crestwood
didn't like the exalted plains. it was underwhelming and it was not even pretty to look at, that would compensate the boringness. that was the center of the civil war, they could have done so much in that place but we only find bodies with letters and people TALKING about the war.
and storm coast have a lot of nothing to do

The Hinterlands, it was rugged, pretty terrain. The Western Approach for Griffon Wing Keep (Rylen) and the time paused temple. The Jail with the giant was fun too. Emerald Graves was absolutely gorgeous, I loved all the forested areas they were so pretty.

Emerald Graves - Lush forests and beautiful scenery. The brown nugs were cute too.
Hissing Wastes - I like the night time scenery and it's an open space desert. Also liked the Tomb of Fairel quest and the dragon fight at the end.
Emprise du Lion - Beautiful winter scenery despite the red lyrium infestation that made the place equally eerie. Although it's a pain to fight the Red Templars, red lyrium giants and Imshael, I find it's worth taking Suledin Keep every time.
Honourable mention is the Frostback Basin (JoH DLC).
