Played w/ GronkyD last night when he was curious to whether I was up to duoing FC Nightmare. Me being me I said of course; worse happens is we wipe. So his Silent Sister and my Saarebas draw Qunari and we're sure we won't last long. His SS, as set up, just can't whittle down the shield bearers which is when I notice that the Saarebas upgrade to Shield can knock down the shield guys. So the plan becomes he aggro's shield bearers, brings them to me, I knock them down with barriers flow stance and he kills as many as he can while they're down.
We cleared all four zones, no deaths, doing this. At some point on Zone 2 the ridiculousness of this strategy, and the animation of them falling, becomes too much and I start laughing so hard I'm in tears. On Zone 3, while hiding in the "basement", four assassins get past Gronky and show up at my hiding spot. When he shows up and sees the assassins and I doing our little dance (Itwa-Adim, Shield of Peace, Barrier) he starts laughing as well, so much so that I was afraid he'd asphyxiate. He's gasping the entire time of zone 3 and 4, "This is so fuckin' broken."
He's not wrong. Someone finally joined for the dragon fight.
Nightmare/FC, all four zones, no deaths, two guys...all because of Shield of Peace. It was hilarious.

I want to add something. When attacking archers with melee weapons (daggers, 1h/2H weapons) and not using attack cancel they react to it usually starting to move away from you after your seconds hit. You can see the same with Dragon Rage, they step away from you after the second hit and the the third big hit of DR is hitting the air They need to be alive after two swings to be able to do that... Hahaha but for example on Nightmare a Darkspawn archer has more than 17K health. I doubt you beat it with two auto attack hits - And about Pugs: I always wondered about a lot of PC players I knew from BSN I never met in pugs even if they said they are playing pugs

It is so useful, when there are a ton of shields or stalker-types about. Saarebas = Saareboss.

In addition - regarding upgrade to seabass shield - using the "flow" gave me my first real glimpse at the Venatori Shieldmen. "Shield or pants. Can't have both!?!"

The best of best is when there is a keeper using disruption field next to her. The mobs who have the misfortune of entering the "bubble" will twirl and fall down in slow motion all around you. Funny as hell

It's opening move would've fit in perfectly to having a crowd around. Still, that had to be the hardest I laughed during a match. One of the best parts was the two new guys in the next match, who were well and truly new to PC DAIMP (both moved from XB1, I believe), commenting on what we were doing after they Faded a couple of times. Their comments sent me back into a paroxysm of laughter. My sides actually hurt.

One time I joined 1Cake's NM public game and saw 2 other NM players with names I have never seen before. I know they are from 1Cake's region but it is still odd... since I always played with people I know in NM games. So I mentioned it to him that I have never seen those names and it is so cool. His reply was "to be honest, I have never seen them before either."

Nightmare/FC, all four zones, no deaths, two guys...all because of Shield of Peace. It was hilarious. I used to call it "Night Night" as the animation is the same as the knockout bomb. But I stopped taking it one day realizing that if they die while sleeping.. they don't get to hit my barrier for the support xp. And worst is that when you see a lego doing the shield block right next to you and you put everyone to sleep and you saw him walk away to somewhere else to block.. you felt like you failed him. You can almost hear him says, "I might as well go back to the deep road..." Off topic, by when I was playing SP and sat in judgement of the criminals. I sent them all to the deep road to keep the lego company....

Took my Lego on a quick Threatening run over break. Me and ZITHER! The two of us were doing pretty well against Qunari, made it all the way to the end. Poor ZITHER! hung out in the Fade, it was just me, kinda thought I was a gonner. Then HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED CRASHED IN. We won. Got back to the lobby. I have people muted right now, but I can see the microphone icon flashing with an X over it. Not sure, but I imagine he was probably berating the both of us for how lame we are. X) I think we did pretty well for two newbs against Qunari!

And as you were both fairly new to the game, your performance seems to have been close to Heroic. Well played.

Got to play a couple of Peri's with Nimlowyn last night. The first time, like a nit, I forgot to bring a dragon call so we had to deal with the Venatori's silliness (sorry about that, Nim). The second time I made sure to craft a couple and whacked the fire dragon around, but by then it was getting late EST and I had to punk out. Still, huge fun, some gold was made and good games were had.

I am learning things every day, like, don't stand in the direct line of sight of archers! You'd think I'd have learned that in SP! No worries about the gong. Speaking of which quick newbie question about that: I always let the leader decide to hit it or not. Is that the etiquette?

Speaking of which quick newbie question about that: I always let the leader decide to hit it or not. Is that the etiquette? Good question, and I honestly don't know. Typically I assume everyone would rather fight the dragon and will hit the gong myself if I have a dragon call. Now that you bring it up, I'm not sure. Some people may be working on faction challenges, for which FC is a really good map cause the wave budgets are ridiculously deep. You know, in the future I'm going to say something on mic and if I don't hear a "nay" I'm ringing it. Venatori archers and the Qunari spearmen can just go suck it...though I'll make an exception for the Druffy faction. Now that's just too much fun.

Great fun indeed! (I unlocked Belina, ZITHER! AND Isabela weee!) I am learning things every day, like, don't stand in the direct line of sight of archers! You'd think I'd have learned that in SP! No worries about the gong. Speaking of which quick newbie question about that: I always let the leader decide to hit it or not. Is that the etiquette? Good question, and I honestly don't know. Typically I assume everyone would rather fight the dragon and will hit the gong myself if I have a dragon call. Now that you bring it up, I'm not sure. Some people may be working on faction challenges, for which FC is a really good map cause the wave budgets are ridiculously deep. You know, in the future I'm going to say something on mic and if I don't hear a "nay" I'm ringing it. Venatori archers and the Qunari spearmen can just go suck it...though I'll make an exception for the Druffy faction. Now that's just too much fun. That's a good idea! I don't mind other factions necessarily but I prefer fighting the dragon. I mean we can fight the other factions elsewhere....DRAGON! Though I do go with the flow for the most part. I fought the Druffy faction for the first time the other day. Didn't know it was a thing. "WTF LOL?!" was my motto that day. Managed to survive the exploding nugs without fading. X)

That's my personal feeling as well. Fighting the Druffy faction always, always gives me a chuckle. It's just so damn bizarre! You know, I would've paid damn good money for a single player DLC that added the Druffy faction in the campaign. I really, really would.

I would suggest not to call the dragon on perilous if you finished specific dragon challenge. You will get much more xp. Just camp on the stairs and you will be good Speaking of dragons... Killed few NM ones today, I hope that pugs got something good.

Killed few NM ones today, I hope that pugs got something good. Although perilous dragons do drop a lot of the weapons you need for the crescent's shadow. These are copied from SilverSmurf's profile: Revered Defender Longsword to get Valos AtredumRevered Defender Maul to get Stone-BreakerLyrium-Infused Staff to get Isana's SongStone-Stalker Blade to get SilencerLyrium-Reinforced Bow to get Tezpadam's BaneRevered Defender Shield to get IsatunollYou will need to keep the first one (blue) in your inventory to get the 2nd one (purple). They also drop from NM dragons but I think I got most of the above from Perilous dragons. I usually just let the person who wants the dragon call the dragon. If they don't have dragon calls and stand near the gone, I will ring it for them. But otherwise I don't call it for extra xp.
