It has dawned on me that MEA is a great game after all. In fact, I now rank it as my #1 ME game. The story, characters, and combat in this game should be something that Bioware should be proud of.
Anyone else have evolved opinions about the game after playing it a year later?

I was eagerly waiting the April Fools' Day day post. XD
Let's see if more (but more subtle and disguised) come.

I just beat it a month ago. A couple of hours after finishing it I was like "Nah, this does suck." and in a way it does, compared to each game in the trilogy individually, despite some of the added freedom and fresh ideas that are exclusive to Andromeda a lot of the stuff I care about is still not in the bag.
But man, that said, I can't help but think fondly of the game the more time passes and that was kinda how I felt after the first go. I still have my grievances and my "Oh, why did they HAVE to screw this up as much as they did?" but at the end of the day nothing stings as badly as the ending to ME3 or the over-emphasised lack of player-agency of ME3. In fact, there are things about Andromeda I downright marvel at. I think a big punctuation to it is that Witcher 3 really overshadowed it as a technical accomplishment with current-gen hardware. However, compared to DA:I MEA is still an improvement and in terms of technology there are still many, many images I can think of where I just went "Man, these graphics are really impressive".
It's a lot of up and down, but the thing I keep noting about Andromeda is its potential. It had a lot of that, and there's just enough that I would be excited for more if BW Montreal hadn't been migrated away from BioWare.
I also have a lot of fanfic/backseat visions of what the hook of a sequel could be and even how the introduction would begin (fanfic: It involves an opening fade-in of Ryder waking up with their LI on the Tempest before foreshadowing a new conflict visible from the ship's location).
If they pepped up the music, really vindicated themselves with the facial animations and polished it up while keeping it focused a sequel could actually have been very good, but all of the things that makes me imagine such a sequel is right there in the game we got, so that's my little token that I'll keep ahold of every time I need to remind BioWare during the next 10 years how much they can still do if they go back to Mass Effect or Andromeda.

Anyone else have evolved opinions about the game after playing it a year later? My opinion of ME:A hasn't changed at all just as much as I'm sure that yours hasn't changed either. (Yep, I still like it and I still believe you probably never will.)

Haha.
Its still a 7/10, introducing some things I enjoy more than the trilogy, but widely not being as enjoyable, though I'd prefer something more of a sequel than a scrapping of the Andromeda arc.

If you replay the game adjust the sound values to this: Music = 100%, Dialogue = 70%, Sound Effects = 60%. By doing that you hear a lot more of the music, which is surprisingly good and it really helps with the games immersion.

I am a musician myself and i think the score has a phony, insecure quality to it as it sticks to repetition, Hans Zimmer-swells and atmospheric ambience too often. They got the Daredevil composer. They thought "this must be good because it's from a tv show" but it's a tv show. Those already have budget scores, Andromeda also needed budget because in case you all haven't noticed, such is the nature of open-ended games. Sadly it is an actual part of an industry blueprint and Zelda did it too "DID YOU JUST CRITICIZE BREATH OF THE WILD!?" Uhh, I'm out!

Just don't do it too often or it'll wear out faster than the shitty gear you get.

Everyone knew it was April Fool's but it's still fun to watch. But, then again, maybe it was an Easter Egg.
