Well, I just got it, so no, LOL. I like 5A anyway for the weak point boost (primary weapon is the Black Widow, Piranha will he for when I need to get health back or for “close encounters”). Also, I am always nervous about hovering and exposing myself to fire. I need to play the Havoc Trooper to get over this someday I guess...

Imho, hovering for a short while can be effective with any character: empty clip/finish mook and drop down to cover...  |

Yeah, I’ve learned to hover strategically when dropping off ledges to squeeze in a few shots or to manipulate cover, but I’m not good about building around it and planning to do it as a base attack position. I know some folks get amazing results with the Havoc Trooper and Soned/Rozerad, but my skills aren’t well suited to that style of play.

I got my second UR variant today!... aaaand it was Piranha Siphon II, LOL. Oh well, marginally better than the Bulwark or Concussive variants would have been. At least I managed to get my Avenger to XII this weekend. If I can just make it XIII, then I can stop carrying power amps to kill redbars with nades on Gold (or spec out of some power damage for some weapon damage and keep the required power amps “affordable”).

Piranha Siphon is awesome for near field killing. It can drop snapfreezed hydra in two clips on platinum if pointed at weak points from near area. And you get your health back all the time. |

With your Avenger, are you taking advantage of the hover accuracy bonus Weapon Training 5B when using your Piranha? With *my* Avenger, I'm taking advantage of Avenger Strike Disrupting Strike (6A) to get in enemies' faces & shoot with my Dhan Concussive. 5 seconds of stun duration to line up headshots. Don't like hover very much. |
