Can read about it a little bit here:
kotaku.com/overwatchs-new-pve-event-is-its-best-yet-1825183663But basically what it is (and it's a lot of fun):
- 4 player horde mode coop mission, except this one is scripted and leads you towards the end location and extraction
- Resurrect works similarly as in ME3
- Bunch of Cerbreus trooper - like mobs attack you in groups, with big bulky easy to headshot helmets
- A mix of Guardian/Centurion trooper with a shotgun and shield regen instead of physical shield
- Almost an except copy of what Phantom does, she's really fast teleporting around instead of stealth, and yes it sync kills you but a teammate can save you (regens shields just as in ME too)
- They have their sniper too, and she's a female too, basically your Nemesis (regens shields just as in ME too),
- A boss thing that has a profile similar to Atlas, very tough to take down, very deadly, but can be played around just like the Atlas can by forcing him to waste time in melee animation and use terrain advantage specifically vertically by making him walk up/down platforms. Don't think he can sync you, but he can charge you into a wall which kills you too.
Overall the gamemode is a ton of fun, and you can make it more interesting with switching around all the variety of team comps possible with all the varied Overwatch heroes. I haven't beaten the hardest, Legendary difficulty yet, so it is quite a challenge even for experienced players. Knowing tricks we learned in ME3 how to play around bosses like that mech guy certainly helps, but I've seen plenty of highly ranked players just dying to them and that was kinda funny. Aim isn't everything in this game
Anyway, I thought it was worth posting. I'm having a lot of fun with it, just wish there was more. They had a similiar pve event last year but it was nothing like this, this one is pretty much exact copy, or at least exact inspiration from the Cerbreus mobs - and it's great.
