So, about Cora's Shotgun.
Is there any information about it available somewhere, anywhere?
I'm specifically looking for its actual name and intended purpose/range.
I know its an M-28, looks like an early prototype of the N7 Crusader and according to the Wiki both Sarissa and Vederia can be seen with one.
It's ingame name and description are that of the M-23 Katana, its behavior (when Cora wields it) is also very Katana like.
Headcanon:
When I consider its ingame name to be more than just the shotgun default text, that would mean that it's manufactured by Ariake Tech (which would also solve the mystery who produces the Crusader). Ariake is already known for producing the Katana in all the ME games and the ME2,3 M-27 Scimitar shotgun.
From the looks of the M-28, my headcanon goes that Ariake was in the midst of creating a long range shotgun to rival the Eviscerator, but unlike the Eviscarator a version that would not violate Citadel Conventions.
The M-28 then was the first small scale produced weapon of what would eventually become the Crusader in a couple more iterations. In order to achieve a tighter spread pattern, they scrapped one acceleration unit, so the M-28 fires only 7 projectiles in a tight pattern, instead of the Katana and Scimitar's 8. (This would later lead to the Crusader's slug projectile in order to further increase accuracy and anti armour behavior, especially the last being lacking in the M-28 and other Ariake Shotguns.)
Cora being a Vanguard and charging right into the enemy obviously seldom has a need for a longer range shotgun. So it would make some sense for her to adjust her personal version to have a wider spread pattern again; to ensure hitting enemies that otherwise might be evading too fast (biotically side-stepping Asari, primarily).

So, I look for its name or suggestions for its name.
I thought of Naginata, but that is already an ME1 Ariake Tech sniper rifle.
Has anyone else an Idea that fits in a line of Katana -> Scimitar -> ??, or fits within the transition of sword-names to 'armies' (in the broadest sense) such as Crusader?
Alternatives I'm considering are:
'Longsword', but that seems so unspecific (and kind of wrong, as the wiki article states that longswords merely have a longer grip).
'Halberd' is already in the game. Other variants of that type of weapon have stupid sounding names, imo.
'Saracen' (maybe me, but that seems lacking somehow)
'Assassin' (too Ubisoft, too much cliche)
'Ninja' (way too cliche. Also; I begin to miss Ninja Stan)
'Samurai' (meh), though 'Shogun' might fit to its supposed role. Still doesn't sound right to me though, too close to 'Shotgun'
