Is the route to a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster now improved?

No.

one can hope, dream...

all the mods that have come out through time have improved much of the games, but it's nothing to what a complete remaster would offer .

Remastering seems to rarely be done by the original makers of the game.  Ratchet and Clank 1-3 were remastered by Idol games, Crash Insane Trilogy was by Vicarious Vision, Dark Souls is by another group then From Software and Pretty sure the Jak Trilogy and Spyro remaster are being done by other company other then Naughty Dog.

No you said BioWare doesn't' seem to be heading in the direction of a remaster. But BioWare's position is irrelevant.  There is a big up swing in popularity of remastering older games getting a ton of attention. If EA deems there is enough of a fan base to warrant it they will make a remaster.

 I think I will because I was responding to a very specific part of your post and you seem to be going off about another part.






BioWare's stance is irrelevant because the original creators rarely if ever waste time doing remaster work.  It is almost always handed off to some small company because all that really needs to be done is graphical update with no major change to game play thus no need for large companies like BioWare to be involved in it.



A remaster would not effect any new ME:A 2 game and it's development any more then Disney releasing remastered versions of their old movies effects any of their new movies in any way shape or form.  Re releasing the original animated Beauty and the Beast didn't negatively effect their ability to make or ticket/DVD sales of their live action version.




I didn't actually address this part originally but I will now.  I do agree it is far to early to make any calls on what will happen. But not for the reasons you listed. Far more likely would be that since it is only a last gen game it isn't deemed worth while to bother to remaster compared to games like the Jak trilogy or Crash and Spyro. Or it lacks the very strong and vocal group like Dark Souls getting DS1 remaster coming out soon and having DS2 Scholar of the First Sin being released for PS4 a while ago as well. Both were originally PS3 games.

How ever I think it is more likely because Xbox One has the original trilogy backwards compatible already with the current x box system. The 360 version are cheap and plentiful to access and the higher cost of remastering the trilogy and higher price tag it would require. Might be causing some questions on if it is worth it since half of the target group wouldn't have to buy the new remastered version of the game.  

The questions I would ask is how much would it cost and how long it would take. Of course I would be curious how many would buy a remastered trilogy. For me, I believe it would sell very well especially if the price includes all dlc and all weapon and armor packs. At the moment, there will be no remaster.
