As the question implies, if you could take an Andromeda-style approach to skill selection, but put it in Trilogy format, what would you make? For "balance" purposes pick a class (say, Sentinel) and that determines what ability types you can have. So for example, as a Sentinel, I can pick tech and biotic abilities... CLASS POWER (1): Tech Armor BASE POWERS (5): Warp, Throw, Incinerate, Energy Drain, Nova BONUS POWER (1): Charge As for a bonus power, no restriction aside from you can only pick one. If you want to pick another class power like I did, go for it. If I went Vanguard, that leaves combat and biotics... CLASS POWER (1): Charge BASE POWERS (5): Incendiary Ammo, Warp Ammo, Throw, Nova, Warp BONUS POWER (1): Tech Armor (I'm detecting a theme here...) If you want to include a multiplayer power in your list, go for it, just try to keep it to the "class archetype" you picked.

Unstoppable ME3 Sentinel: Class power: Tech Armor Base powers: Barrier (biotic), Defense Matrix (tech), and it does not even matter about the rest Bonus power: Fortification (combat) The only thing that can stop that Sentinel are sync kills and the plot. If you can include powers from multiplayer, then Vanguards and infiltrators could achieve the same thing with Blade Armor (combat power). Unstoppable ME3 Vanguard: Class Power: Charge Base Powers: Fortification (combat), Blade Armor (combat), Barrier (biotic), and who cares about the other biotic power but probably Nova Bonus Power: Barrier (biotic) Unstoppable ME3 Infiltrator: Class Power: Tactical Cheat Base Powers: Fortification (combat), Blade Armor (combat), Defense Matrix (tech), and who even gives a crap about the other tech power Bonus Power: Barrier (biotic) For those curious, BSNer Cyonan figured out how damage reduction works (see here). Basically: A. You take +40% more damage when out of cover,... B. So +100% Damage Reduction (DR) means you take no damage when in cover,... C. So you need +140% DR to take no damage when out of cover. Currently it is possible for an ME3SP Sentinel to take no damage for a limited time under specific circumstances (video link). Damage Reduction (DR) available from "always-on" powers: - Tech Armor: +35% to +50% - Fortification: +25% to +40% - Blade Armor: +25% to +40% - MP Barrier: +25% to +40% - SP Barrier: +15% to +30% - Defense Matrix: +15% to +30% Other powers can provide a temporary DR boost, such as Energy Drain (+40%), Reave (+15% to +40%), Biotic Charge (+50%), and MP Biotic Shield (+20% to +40%).

Don't care too much for the mix and match. It's one of the few things that's an issue for me in MEA. I have no sense that I have a specialized class. Do enough NG+ games and you find yourself with every skill and power.

Don't care too much for the mix and match. It's one of the few things that's an issue for me in MEA. I have no sense that I have a specialized class. Do enough NG+ games and you find yourself with every skill and power. Heck, I have played through Mass Effect Andromeda 1.5 times (have not finished the second playthrough), and in both playthroughs I just picked three powers and never switched. I only kept putting points into the other powers for the passive bonuses. All the extra powers are a waste.

An idea I came across on the old archived forums that reminded me of this thread: A Vanguard with ME2-style Tech Armor, which sounds pretty hilarious. Tech Armor would be awesome with Tactical Cloak as well.
I'd make a class that has all three abilities.

Biotic Shepard is a big no no. I'd have a soldier class, but with all the tech abilities of an engineer. Tech savvy Shepard is much more lore/canon friendly than a biotic Shepard.. Because Shepard's always hacking/bypassing/disarming nukes regardless of class, so being able to overload shields and set up defence drones isn't that far fetched. But not once does Shepard ever throw a warp or preform a lift.
