Of all the Volus it's the Sentinel that I kinda get. The Engineer is close but it don't have the right flow to me. I guess it's somehow tied to the pacing, casting animation and CDs that makes him appeal to me. Uses Arc Pistol and his little cloak in abundance.

N7-Destroyer with the Geth Plasma Shotgun for mooks and the Particle Rifle for bosses. The shotgun's quasi-lock-on feature lets you destroy all mooks with ease and in seconds, the Particle Rifle with Incendiary or Cryo Ammo makes short work of all bosses. I'm usually getting the Particle Rifle down to about 15 ammo units, then firing two Multifrag-Grenades in a row to let the weapon cool down - rinse and repeat.

Trying to give the BF3 Soldier some love. I used to have him built similar to my Male HSol, but with the Widow instead of the Claymore for hipster effect. Decided I'd try to spec around a Carnage build. Fire Explosions via Carnage aren't as constant as with other kits, but spraying a spawn, detonating with Carnage and chucking a grenade does clear house fairly effectively and it shreds through armor reliably enough. Acolyte is to get rid of shields/barriers on Atlases, Praetorians, etc. Outside of that, you can take whatever variances you want and the general principle still works. Different weapons/headshot/weapon damage - choice is yours.

Batarian Soldier with the Claymore, it's become one of my favourite set-ups for Gold pugs lately, the Claymore synergizes quite well with his Ballistic blades.

This weekend I played the Vorcha Pyro for a few rounds. While it's not a new build, it certainly is a lot of fun. Grraaaahhhhhhhhh! Big Monster!

Idea is shoot>AR>shoot>carnage>frag>repeat. I usually go with fire ammo, but it's probably better to do disruptor, this kills a plat brute in one go. Super high burst damage and really in your face with high risk high reward play.

Not a new discovery, but this evening I had lots of fun with the Adas Quarksman, staggering all the Phantoms while making the other players' ears bleed. Took an ultralight Tempest as an anti-armour sidearm but didn't need it, Tactical Scan plus incendiary IV dealt with Atlases perfectly well. My Adas Quarksman build. I realize that Marksman 5b is worthless with the Adas, but I play him with other guns too. (Yes, I really did take the responder gear, I wanted extra rage gels. Turned out that I didn't need them, but hey).

I was under the impression that Marksman works perfectly, but Tactical Scan's rank 5a headshot bonus is broken. Which is why I specced Tac Scan 5b.

But I trust they did their research and are correct I meant on Marksman. I had forgotten if that evolution was bugged, headshot damage. All of us old-timers are aware of Tacticoolol's failure to add headshot damage in that evo. Biower pls. I helped test Ravagers for triple-hits, with FreekOne which he submitted to peddro. The good old days.

More of a renaissance than true discovery, we have spent some quality time with the Phoenix Adept recently. Generally, anything that can put a leash on phantoms is gold (well platinum)! BuildPlay

Just tried theHuman Engineer (6/6/6/4/4) with the Tempest and Scorpion. I use the Tempest to kill mooks and shoot through Guardian shields. When the big armoured enemies come out to play, I like to use the Scorpion, then detonate the Incendiary ammo effect with overload or incinerate.
If I ever decide to solo or play Platinum with this character, I think I will replace the Tempest with the Hurricane and see if my cooldowns are still quick enough. I might also try just using the Harrier on the Engineer too, when I unlock it.

When the big armoured enemies come out to play, I like to use the Scorpion, then detonate the Incendiary ammo effect with overload or incinerate. That's interesting. That will give you strength 7 firesplosions (6 from the ranks in Overload plus 1 from the ammo power). I wonder whether the (presumably) more frequent strength 7 explosions are overall more effective than the less frequent strength 12 explosions you'd get from rank 6 Incinerate plus Overload? Avoiding weaker explosions are why I take non-elemental ammo when I'm playing human engineer (and quarian male, for that matter); though from having seen people's solo videos, Bwnci's guides etc, I appear to be in the minority.

Phoenix Vanguard + Reegar (don't judge) + Incendiary Reegar > Smash w/ Electrical Damage > FIRE EXPLOSIONS. It sounds lame but I enjoy it. A lot. not judging at all, but you would still get the FE without the Electrical Damage evo. Edit: for clarification. The Electrical Damage Evo is a priming evo, not a detonating one. Smash will detonate anything regardless of choice there.

Not recent, but I play the Justicar differently than most. By no means is it optimal, but its allows you to get it pretty close to spawns and has your bubble up right next to them to clear house. Asari Justicar CQC BuildThe idea is to run+shoot at a spawn, the venom shot should be strong enough to clear shields on most enemies and will stagger buying you time. Deploy bubble to detonate the fire explosion, fire another venom shot to stagger again and use reave to detonate the BE. This also puts your bubble in good position for a biotic team. If you can stay alive long enough dancing around bosses, you can keep employing the same technique. It gets a little tricky on some late wave spawns or on Platinum, but the asari dodge is quick enough to evade most attacks even at close range. Again, by no means optimal, but it is quite fun.
