I'm hoping for a more Neutral game, tbh. That's one reason I loved the Mask of the Betrayer expansion from NWN2. Most of your companions were some flavor of Neutral and the story itself was very.... hrmm, the tone was such that you could easily play a Good character struggling against the evil within or an Evil character who embraced their hunger and cannibalized every spirit they saw. That's my preference for DA4.

Player choice. If I wanna be bad lemme be bad. If I wanna be good lemme be good. And gimme the same level of moral complexity with my companions that I got in Inquisition

Since it is likely to be set in Tevinter they can hardly avoid having complexity of moral outlook. We have already seen that with Dorian and Calpernia. He is definitely one of the good guys who is on a crusade to remove corruption from the government of his homeland but nevertheless defends the system of slavery. So far that matter does Maevaris. Calpernia threw in her lot with Corypheus because he recognised her ability and freed her from her former master. She also wished to remove corruption from Government but more through elevating those in the lowest strata of society, the slaves. Yet she was our enemy (unless we manage to enlighten her about the way Corypheus intended using her).
I can imagine we may have a similar conflict of interest to confront in the next game. After all, Solas is against slavery no matter what the race but he is definitely now the bad guy, unfortunately, due to his plan for improving the world in his eyes.

If we're in Tevinter I hope they go for what Tyranny sort of did. Like, it's a bad place and you're working for bad people (either Tevinter or Qunari ideally). But you have a choice to either embrace the system in a lawful evil way, or try to rebel/reform from the inside in a lawful or chaotic good kind of manner. Hell, you could even go chaotic evil and sacrifice elven slaves in blood rituals all the time. I dunno, I'd appreciate something a little darker if we're in Tevinter like it's been hinted.

I hope we will be able create characters whose stories can be heroic and noble, cautious and fearful, logical and pragmatic, weird and foolish, ruthless and ambitious, vengeful and fanatic, and anything in between. That we can play many protagonists as different from ourselves as they are from each other. That we will actually have to think about the make hard choices we make in a dark and complex world. That we can stay true to said characters path, or have allow them to believably change, for good or ill.
I fear EA will demand the game be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator, to be just another generic heroic fantasy. That our PC will be yet another damned Chosen One where we get MEGA HAPPY ENDINGS telegraphed from a mile away. That the writers are more interested in telling tales where we are spectators to their own personal wish fulfillments, rather than allowing us to choose who and what our characters care about.

The type that tells us our choices will matter, but in reality, won't change anything. I can dream of a more ideal system, but I've been burned by Bioware too many times to expect much out of them in regards to this.
I would like the dialogue choices and what gets said to actually align instead of blurting out something completely different to what I had been told.

D&D alignments? Based on all the long threads in BSN, I think Bioware’s alignment matrix is more straight/gay x sexy/plain/ugly.
I’m hoping for Straight Ugly myself.
