Due to forum magic by @howyummy and regack , you can choose the background wallpaper image that sits behind the forum theme of your choice if you are using one of the primary forum themes:

〇 Blue - which has user-selectable backgrounds
〇 Dark - which has user-selectable backgrounds
〇 Legacy - which has user-selectable backgrounds & user-selectable location for the like/quote/edit buttons
〇 Prime - this is the default member theme, it has user-selectable backgrounds

If you haven't set your theme yet, which governs the type and color of the boxes, you can see how to do that here:

So, onto setting your background wallpaper.

You do that by clicking open the tab right in the bottom right corner of the site and clicking 'Change background':

Also, I like my current background (FemShep), but if I understand correctly ProBoards is undergoing some sort of upgrade and after that I will no longer have the option to use it?

Changing themes is like this:

Just head into your Profile on the menu bar:

Pick 'Edit Profile'
Enter the 'Settings'
And change your 'Forum Theme' (save before you go)

I appreciate we may not be 'fully featured' for a time.

Yes, the ones compatible with the selectable backgrounds are:

The femshep or broshep backgrounds (named ME3 [F] and ME3 [M]) are also available as background selections for any of the themes listed above.

The plan is to bring Legacy into the fold (with selectable backgrounds) if you prefer that color scheme.
