Don't try and catch me with details, I know his leg is supposed to be injured from an earlier fight, but that's not why he's doing the "crane kick." Miyagi fixed his injured leg with his magic "hand rub." Daniel was doing the Crane Kick because, "If done properly, there is no defense." Until the sequel, of course.

I used to do kickboxing, back before the MMA jackholes showed up with a style that was actually practical in a real fight and made us all look stupid. I can't say I ever took on a White Crane stylist, but it seems to me that I've been able to spot a potential defense to that deviously clever hop-on-one-foot kick. I figured I'd circle to my right, crowding his left shoulder like I usually did, AND THEN NOT THROW MY FUCKING FACE RIGHT DOWN HIS FUCKING CENTER LINE.

I lost some fights, but never because MY HEAD WAS IN FRONT OF MY FUCKING GLOVES. I must concede that you can keep your hands safe by hiding them behind your brain, but it's not an approach I ever considered.
