"Code Vein is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian setting with vampire themes, including "gifts" from the consumption of blood, and other supernatural abilities. The game was announced in April 2017, and will be released worldwide in September 2018"
I didn't find any other thread dedicated to this game, so I opened one to either share vids, infos or a link to an existing thread my piss-poor perception might have missed.

I assume the short answer would be: because vampire.
The long one denies that it's a sword. It's actually a stick with a giant edge and the higher your edge stat is, the bigger the edge you can lord around.

This was going to be my Sept. into Oct. game - . Glad they are going to work on it longer - the "They needed more time" narrative is getting old. I would prefer games just be finished.

Must damit this gasme has a sreiously kick ass CC. Bioware could learn a thing or 2 from it. Not played the gaqme myself yet but it's one I added to my backlog just befoer Christmas. Not normall yinto Anim estyle games but this one looked and sounded quite interesting when I saw it on youtube

Ah, tonnes of players around here, I see. Apparently, Gamepass' 1$ special resets after a year, as I've been able to do it again. Having played the demo for this a few months back, it was one of the ones I wanted to check out. Gameplay-wise it's definitely a bit simpler and easier than your typical soulsborne game (although it's possible Bloodborne and DS3 messed up my scale and it may well compare to DS and DS2 in difficulty.) It's early days for me, but the visual style is certainly more repetitive and less interesting when it comes to the setting. Character creation is quite good, and it appears that they've added a lot of free content and features since the initial release. I have no idea where the story is going and have only sorted the basics of the lore so far. Basically it seems to be a less violent/gory version of a Vilebloods-focused Bloodborne. Cinematic kills are a cool touch. Backstabs are really touchy, though. Not nearly as reliable as in the soulsborne series. It's also a much less "lonely" game. Companions talk a lot. There is the option to turn that off. I don't know if I will. There's a photo mode, which I'm a bit iffy about. I'm not sure I understand how that is supposed to work in a game that you can't "pause." I imagine people going into photo mode and catching themselves getting shanked because they've been distracted.
