Companions Lineup for Veilguard

My theory on companions atm (obviously probably not accurate):

1. Male human or elf Warden warrior (Davrin, teased in the voice acting video from years ago)
2. Female Qunari archer (has been in concept art and trailers, where she shoots a darkspawn. Unclear if a rogue or mage class due to glowing arrows)
3. Female dwarf (either Harding or someone new)
4. Male Antivan Crow (going from concept art. We could also get a lady Crow instead, but I don't think it will be Teia because she is already in a relationship and they said the companions are romanceable).
5. Female human or elf mage (Mortalitasi, Tevinter, or Veil Jumper)
6. Male human or elf mage (ditto)
7. A spirit of some kind (could tie into Mortalitasi) or an Executor. There will probably be a spirit-adjacent companion as we've had one each game (Wynne, Anders, Cole).

I also think a nonbinary companion is possible, and when I say male/female I don't necessarily mean assigned such at birth. I'm purely guessing that they will have a fairly even split between male/female characters, as they did in DA2.


Edit: realizing that my lineup doesn't have a representative from Rivain, which seems like it should be a thing given the promo material. 🤔

I'm kind of surprised by the 2M/2W/3R ratio

Well now we have all our 7 companions. What do you think about this selection? I don´t know. Sure its great to be right on Harding but the rest i need more informations. I not gonna lie i kinda miss another familiar face. Ok ok i say it out loud i miss Calpernia in the roster. Maevaris would also have been nice but that´s life. In my case i win (Harding) and lose (Calpernia and / or Maevaris) at the same time.

I don't feel badly that any speculations from before didn't arrive in reality.

I'm pleased for Harding, of course.

Neve doesn't surprise me. She seemed pretty important to Varric and Harding's operation following The Missing. Though she might have just been an important NPC

Lucanis seems like a good fit. A former Crow is almost more interesting and less morally ambiguous than a current Crow member. If the PC can be a Crow, that would make for some narrative conflict.

Emmerich is likely from Nevarra, like Cassandra, instead of Tevinter. His necromantic activities are intriguing in that light.

I don't have a good read on Taash. She seems like a Tal Vashoth or Vashoth. I liked the promise of a female Qunari better when it seemed like she might be a rogue or mage.

Bellara, as a Veil Jumper, is going to have some interesting perspectives on Solas, the Fade, and cities.

Davrin. I didn't expect to love this guy. His Griffin companion (and the idea that they work together in combat) makes him so much more interesting than just a stock Grey Warden.

Well, it is nice to finally have Harding as a companion.

Emmrich was cool, but really was hoping that Myrna from the same Tevinter Nights story would be a companion, she seemed awesome. But I'm guessing that she and Audric will appear somehow.

Neve seemed cool in The Missing, but I didn't finish Tevinter Nights, so I don't know about her personality there.

Still not really sure about the others, though. The trailer didn't give too much to analyze.

Harding will be a day one romance. I do like the rest of the characters especially Emmrich always nice to have a necromancer companion! The Rift girl looked cool as well!

This is why it's good not to be too emotionally attached to early theories. It leads to heartbreak.

My take is that Bellara is a rogue and Taash is a warrior. Taash is wearing scale armor, after all. It's odd that we have 3 rogues instead of 3 mages, but here we are. Maybe Bellara has some magic abilities to mix with her archery.
