This may very well be my final Platinum Solo, and I’ve saved one of my best for last. While this was not my fastest nor was it a perfect solo, it features a successful Wave 2 Hack with a squishy, non-stealth character, the Human Vanguard specced with Shield-Powered Nova!
I consider this one of my greatest and most exciting Platinum Solos in Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer. Please enjoy!
Objectives: Hack / Retrieval / Retrieval
* Wave 1: 0:01:17
* Wave 2 Hack: 0:05:02
* Wave 3: 0:12:57
* Wave 4 Retrieval: 0:24:11
* Wave 5: 0:33:07
* Wave 6 Retrieval: 0:45:57
* Wave 7: 0:56:35
Build: thethirdrace.app.goo.gl/WXZK
* Charge: 4B 5B 6B
* Nova: 4A 5A 6B
* Shockwave: 4A 5B 6B
* APEX Training: 1 point
* Barrier: 4B 5A 6B
* P.A.W. Siphon II
* N7 Valkyrie Siphon VI
* Multicapacitor
* Disruptor Ammo II
* Power Efficiency Mod III
Of the three characters with Nova, only the Human Vanguard can cast Nova two times in a row thanks to Barrier 5A Biotic Alacrity. Casting Nova once drops her shields down to 10% and casting it again reduces them to zero. If you can stay alive in that time, you can Charge in again and repeat the process over and over. I show how this is done at the end of Wave 5 and 6 when tackling the Behemoth.
Shield-Powered Nova also trivializes the orb attacks by double Ascendants. Nova grants invincibility frames when coming down to pound the ground. If you time it right, the Vanguard is unharmed when the Ascendant orb passes her by. I did this several times in the waves with two Ascendants on the field who were staggering their orb attacks. If you don’t spec into Shield-Powered Nova, you have to wait a long time (Nova has a lengthy cooldown) before you can cast it again. I specced into Anti-Armor for Nova to handle those pesky Saboteurs. Watch how I handled a two Saboteurs and a Destined using Charge, Shockwave, and Nova near the end of Wave 4.
Lifting Shockwave was critical in allowing me to handle the Wave 2 Hack. My Vanguard was pretty much saying, "You shall not pass!" to the Wraiths and Ascendants that tried to enter the Hack circle on top of the roof (the best place for a Hack on Firebase Sandstorm). I never once had to leave the circle to kite enemies away.
Multicapacitor and Barrier 4B Recuperative Barrier allowed my shields to come back online quickly. A Power Efficiency Mod III let me cast both Charge every 4.2 seconds and Shockwave every 6.9 seconds.
I equipped Disruptor Ammo for crowd-control rather than anti-armor. Thankfully, I got double Retrieval for my final two objectives. Boss would have been very difficult for this Vanguard to complete in time given the way I specced her (I had several failed prior attempts with the Boss objective). I got downed only once at the beginning of the Wave 4 Retrieval objective. I punched the pizza instead of picking it up and it cost me a no-death solo. Can’t have them all, but getting downed only once is pretty good for this squishy character.
After the Wave 2 Hack, I played more conservatively, since I wanted to complete the solo (provided I got good objectives on Waves 4 and 6). This made for a longer time (57:57), but one that I’m supremely proud of.
And with that, I now retire (for the foreseeable future) from doing any more Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer Platinum Solos. I’ve posted 62 solos here on YouTube, and completed a total of 64. I’ve done solos featuring:
* Every multiplayer character
* Every map
* One flawless solo (no deaths, no consumables used)
* Two Uploads with a non-stealth character
* One Hack with a non-stealth character
* One Powers-Only solo with the Krogan Engineer (no weapons used)
* One solo with the Human Soldier equipped with a stock M-8 Avenger and Viper (no Siphon)
* Several Unmoving solos with the Human Juggernaut where I stand my ground for most of the match on Firebase Magma, Sandstorm, Vertigo, Paradox, and Icebreaker
* One solo in the Kinetic Glass Room on Firebase Zero
I hope you’ve enjoyed watching these solos as much as I’ve have had completing them. Doing a Platinum solo takes a lot of practice and determination. You’ll get frustrated whenever a Hack or Upload appears or if you get continually downed by those biting Adhis, annoying Saboteurs, or relentless Observers. But keep at it, and you too will experience the satisfaction that comes with soloing Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer on the hardest difficulty!
I wish you all good luck in getting a P.A.W. Siphon (or any UR variant Siphon) and may all your objectives be Retrieval or Devices!
