Hey everybody. Has anyone noticed that the newest drivers from Nvidia for the 1080 series causing some really weird bugs? (screen changing colour to green, blacking out, flashing colours etc)?
Just curious. I usually update my Drivers whenever they become available and they typically work around the board with absolutely zero issues. This is the first time, I think, I've ever had any kind of problems, and I know it's not uncommon for any driver release to cause some sort of problem for some folks....But I was just curious if anyone else had noticed issues with this release?
I was playing ME:A and doing the vault on Eos when suddenly the screen went really green (Ryder looked like she was going to be sick to her stomach), everything went really green, then began flashing different colours....then going black. Then back to normal. It was really weird.
I've decided the best work around is to roll back to the previous release or two...find some drivers that I know never caused and issues and play from there. I was just wondering about other players' experiences.

The driver version causing the issues most blatantly is from June 26th.....version 398.36 Though I've rolled back to the drivers from June 5th v. 398.11 and they also are causing this issue.
I'm gonna try Drivers from the month of May, and I will keep you posted.

My pc is dead right now so I can’t verify myself however is this the only game it happens in? Also check your gpu temps. It could be the card itself not the driver.

I have 1070OC, 398.11 and just played MEA through during the few weeks. I didnt see any of the mentioned stuff, but upgrading from march 2017 drivers stopped MEA crashing with D3D error, or crashing the driver so I had to reboot computer at last remotely  |

I tried to install this driver 398.36 when it came out on the 26th but it just stopped installing like 4% of the way through it and sat there for over half an hour till I killed it. I have a 1060 and have not had any driver installation issues before but I am now too scared to try and download it again. |

Hello everyone, and thank you for your replies to this thread topic. (To: Grifith81)...I have checked my GPU temps and even under heavy load (ie playing for 3.5 hours or running a benchmarking program like Heaven on Extreme settings) my card never goes north of 60 and it cools right down to idling temp of 32 to 35 within less than five minutes.
And by all other accounts in daily use, I am not seeing any other issues of any kind that would indicate some sort of GPU failure. Plus I have navigated the GeForce forums for issues with this Driver and people have reported having the same, similar or other issues with this driver version...so I guess it's not unheard of to be experiencing some form of problem with this release. And I'm sure Nvidia and their partners are working on it, so it will get resolved either with a patch or certainly by the next release.

Best option is rolling back to a more stable one. |
