I am surprised that 36.4% combined picked a default Ryder since for me personally I always create my own character if the game lets me. I wonder what the default to create ratio would be for the OG trilogy? For some reason, I didn't ask that question when I did that survey, probably because it didn't cross my mind. Well, for me, I went with the default options during the 10 hr trial period so I could just get to playing right away. Then when the game was released I continued with those 2 chars. I've only done 1 custom each for Scott and Sara, but played default Scott 3 times and default Sara once. I have played 14 times and never used the default options. They just both look to goofy Next time P I play I'll give default Sara a go, she can always have plastic surgery on the Tempest later

I like the near-even split between male and female Ryder. It comes to 54-46 or so. Default Sara not very popular though.
Another interesting one: Reyes much more popular than Sloane, but a much closer race between who was picked for Kadara.
I was actually expecting the Reyes/Sloane Kadara choice divide to be huge. I got the impression that hardly anyone but me chose to save her. I didn't approve of everything she did, but the same was true of everyone, and Reyes was A) a creep a liar and C) I fully expect him to stab me in the back. I don't think that decision could come down to a simple popularity contest, Reyes really made it hard to chooce him. I imagine him using Ryder to assassinate Sloane would have irked even his biggest fans. No one linkes to be tricked into murder. Yeah that surprised me to, having made the choice 14 times I only once MADE myself side with Sloane. I thought it would be far more lopsided towards Reyes.

Yes its Captain Jack I think he's, great one of my all time favourite characters. I had such a crush on him lol. ...and never forget he snogged Solas whilst Vivienne and Merrill hung out next door. Back to the thread, Silvery thx so much for the video! OK prepared to show my own ignorance, colour me intrigued what does this mean: "...and never forget he snogged Solas whilst Vivienne and Merrill hung out next door." I loved Torchwood, so sad it stopped and Gwen and Capt. Jack were brilliant as was James Marsters character and Burn Gorman and Naoko Mori. Damn need to watch it again right now

I was surprised how popular PeeBee was as a romance choice TBH given how much negativity I had seen on the forum re her and also how popular Alec was as "non-Ryder pathfinder" ???? Doesn't surprise me. Liara also gets a lot of hate here but that's not necessarily the viewpoint of the less vocal people. Liara can be annoying but I never got the outright hate for her!!!!

I don't really like Liara but that's more because the writers repeatedly shoved her in our faces. Still, no hate for her. I'd just rather she weren't the "canon" love interest if BioWare decided to make one.

You play DA and love Torchwood and you don't know? Oh you poor baby. Ianto in Torchwood is Solas's VA in DAI. Vivienne, Sloane Kelly in MEA and a million angara females are voiced by Indira Varma, who played the member of the team in the first few episodes who betrayed them all for that glove. Then Gwen is Merrill's VA in DA2. Someone at BioWare likes Torchwood basically.

Thing with sloane, for me, is she upfront about who she is an her dislike for you aswell as the nexus, that i can work with. Reyes from the first moment i meet him is just a greasy, slippery guy that bugs the hell out of me an pushes all the dont trust me buttons

Larger cut of profits versus beating people in the streets or incorrectly exiling them to the Badlands for not paying protection money!!!!!! I feel certain Reyes has an agenda or is at least involved with the Mysterious Benefactor plot somehow (hence his plot armour) but he seems to sincerely want the Initiative to succeed ("Sloane would bring war to Heleus and we don't have the numbers for that") whereas Sloane was only really interested in herself (no one else can be trusted to lead) and her band of merry exiles.

But would trusting Reyes end up being the rookie move? He's so damn shady, he could be playing me from day one and getting up to god knows what. Sloane is a thug no doubt, but it wouldn't surprise me if I found out Reyes was doing equally awful things under the radar under the pretence of 'helping the people'. Sloane = getting into a pit with a hungry croc Reyes = getting into an empty, suspicious looking pit, not noticing the viper that had slithered behind you and was about to attack. I'd rather know where to aim from day one. Irl I'm not sure who I'd chose tbh, but it's a more even choice than I first thought. Initially I thought Sloane was bad and Reyes good but ehhhh now I'm not so sure.

I chose Sloane because not only is Reyes incredibly shady and untrustworthy(he lies and uses everyone yet we are to think we are the exception? Yeah right) but also because she is not. By that I mean everyone, both those who support and oppose her, knows she operates by some code of honor. That means we know exactly how she will act. There are things she won't do, while Reyes we see will do everything she does and even worse. So in my opinion between these two it is a clear case of "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't". Plus even with her it seems by the end of the game there might be a path of reconciliation between the Nexus and the Exiles.

Yeah I guess for me its a gut feel type thing and one thing that sways me to Reyes is that after the leadership change the NPC comments in Kadara Port are a lot more positive after Reyes takes over with only a few not happy about Sloane biting the bullet. The other deciding factor for me is that Conrad Verners sister thinks Sloane's great, that in itself is a good enough reason to let her die The Collective definitely do shady things like torture people you can see it at their base in Draulir and find other places that were used for torture so Reyes is no innocent but my gut instinct tells me Reyes even though he is a shady bastard genuinely wants the Initiative to succeed and "he wants to be someone". I take that to mean he wants to be someone with influence not a gangster overlord like Sloane who on the other hand outright declares her hate for everything Initiative and is going to be a thorn in your side forever. Even after you save her from Reyes she is an ungrateful bitch. I admit I may have been conned but I just also cannot see how Reyes will be anymore of a problem than Sloane going forward. The Initiative and Angaran Resistance would be able to rout either after the Kett are dealt with in Heleus anyway.

'Conrad Verners sister thinks Sloane's great, that in itself is a good enough reason to let her die'. Can't argue with that. Reyes may not want to be a gangster overlord, but he's happy to start his reign assassinating Sloane. He may be a better man overall, but then again he may not. So I suppose it depends on whether your Ryder wants to give him the benefit of the doubt and trust him, or stay with someone they know is a wrong 'un from day one.

Initially I thought Sloane was bad and Reyes good but ehhhh now I'm not so sure. I never got that attitude. Sloane literally betrayed and murdered her way into exile. She's just as much of a dishonest backstabbing weasel as Reyes. Shes just much more needlessly cruel at the same time. Shes upfront about violence when she thinks that will win but she is not above backhanded tactics.

I'm not surprised by how many people picked PeeBee. The results show that this analysis was right on the money back when the author posted it a couple weeks after the game came out. I just found I so often had to stand up for her and her romance I was genuinely surprised that she was the most popular romance. It might just be the least objectionable romance and she does work for male/female ryders so that kind of stacks it in her favor a bit. like I only romanced females and man cora and vetra annoyed the living hell out of me in their romance ark, pee bee annoyed me but not as much.

I don't mind the Cora romance at all, I just completed it yesterday. Cora at the start of the game is quite annoying with her Asari this and Biotic prodigy that blah blah blah but after that she's alright. I just can't stand Vetra on any level and the whole exo-skeleton thing just makes it hard for me to realistically imagine it ever happening, no immersion factor at all. PeeBee is my favourite and most chosen romance by both Scott and Sara, I like how she develops as the game goes on and you can interact at least in someway all game unlike Cora. I only romance females as well but was persuaded playing Sara to romance Liam and I was glad I did, its a good romance.

I'm surprised by how many people didn't blow up the Khett facility saving the angaran instead. I'd forgotten that, yeah that surprised me too. I have played the game 14 times and every single time I blow it up, the Moshae wants it blown up and in a war there is absolutely no reason to leave an asset for the enemy to create more troops plus it seemed "culturally" important to them so would be a morale blow as well. Jaal's childish behaviour afterwards is ridiculous. He adores the Moshae and she is there most respected elder yet he gets the shits cause you agree with her and destroy it!!!!!! Plus you may save what a thousand Angara but destroying it denies them anyway o make any more Kett.

I don't remember how I answered the question but I've done both. In my first game (which is what I think I used in this case) I saved the angara and blew the kett's head off. I wish I could do that latter when destroying the facility but Jaal gets the honor instead. Bastard.

The only reason I ever considered not blowing it up was when I was considering romancing Jaal but as I couldn't stand that romance it always got blown to smithereens. And yeah I wish I got to shoot the Cardinal, I got cranky yesterday when my clip ran out and Drack took out the Archon's Sword after I had done all the damn hard work

I'm cool with that so long as I still get to say the "I'm gonna fuck your shit up" line, that's the only thing that'll NEVER change about that moment.
Saving the Angara was the decision I made for my first playthrough at release. I don't think I'd have bothered if Jaal wasn't there pleading - I'm easily influenced by companions. It's ingrained in most of us to try and keep most of them happy (unless you actively hate them or something). Poor purple fish-man was so upset about not saving his people and his Baishae was screaming for blood as soon as we rescued her. However, it's a decision I did regret and changed for my latest playthrough.
Yes, Jaal gets a bit upset, but hey, the alternative is for the Moshae disliking you for the rest of the game. No, really, she becomes the most passive-aggressive character of the franchise if you save her peeps rather than blow stuff up. Even at the end of the game she'll be annoying. Again, that's how these decisions pan out - someone's gonna get hurt, but Jaal still follows you, just takes some time out before accepting your decision. I guess Moshae's never forget.
So, this time I blew up the facility and Jaal headshotted the wench without any option for me to do so instead. I'm fine with that.
