I'm cool with that so long as I still get to say the "I'm gonna fuck your shit up" line, that's the only thing that'll NEVER change about that moment. Saving the Angara was the decision I made for my first playthrough at release. I don't think I'd have bothered if Jaal wasn't there pleading - I'm easily influenced by companions. It's ingrained in most of us to try and keep most of them happy (unless you actively hate them or something). Poor purple fish-man was so upset about not saving his people and his Baishae was screaming for blood as soon as we rescued her. However, it's a decision I did regret and changed for my latest playthrough. Yes, Jaal gets a bit upset, but hey, the alternative is for the Moshae disliking you for the rest of the game. No, really, she becomes the most passive-aggressive character of the franchise if you save her peeps rather than blow stuff up. Even at the end of the game she'll be annoying. Again, that's how these decisions pan out - someone's gonna get hurt, but Jaal still follows you, just takes some time out before accepting your decision. I guess Moshae's never forget. So, this time I blew up the facility and Jaal headshotted the wench without any option for me to do so instead. I'm fine with that. I think part of the problem is they give fairly vague explanations on it. Blow it up and kill the anagrans, save the angaranas and maybe be able to blow it up later. Sure that's great, but how many people am i blowing up, how long does it take them to restock if we don't blow it up, how many people am I freeing all of them the 100 closest, how many kett are still in the facility, are there other kett war assets getting destroyed here(tanks, ships etc). With such vague information I think everyone takes it in different ways, having different hypothetical numbers in their heads.
When I played trough it I was thinking, we got like 2 ships how many people are we saving exactly? And there are still probably hundreds of Kett warriors. still here, along with their scientists who have mysteriously strong shields, the facility and supplies, are a couple dozen worth all of that given what they would do with those assets?

Same here, and given that decision was fresh in my mind during my latest save, made a thread about it. It's one of the more interesting choices you make that actually does have some kind of impact in various ways and would no doubt be a factor if we ever saw DLC/sequel of any kind.
I genuinely didn't expect many to choose Sloane, even if Reyes is a typical charming sneaky-spy-man-user, but that's because the game is designed this way. She has limited screentime and we're fed reasons to dislike her from the get-go (which actually aren't all true) and we're given a hugely negative first impression of her. On top of that, a driving part of the story was what went down during the uprising, so a lot of negativity surrounds her in that regard even if it can be somewhat understandable/grey area when the matter is actually investigated properly.
Insert Mr.Charming who DOES have screentime, typically spent using you multiple times, as well as equally nasty tactics we believe to be Sloane's doing to secure his own ends. He appeals to Sloane's honour at the final moment and then resorts to breaking that honour with cheap tactics (the sniper). Sure, he holds up his end of the bargain if you roll with it, but hey, so does Sloane, and she's far easier to keep an eye on and far more predictable than someone like Reyes ever would be. To me, it makes no sense to pick Reyes unless you are romantically involved.
Everything is built up to make you think Reyes would piss all over that vote, yet seeing a near 50/50 split is refreshing/surprising. Having seen both, Sloane is definitely my default choice from here-on-out.
