There is a place where there are some colorful trees. I used the remnant console but I can't jump to where leading to the cavern. It is too far to jump. Help ?

I think we may need more details, such as the planet, etc.

Under the heading better beginning-priority ops and if you scroll down to find a way through the caves, there is a picture with Ryder standing in front of a remnant console and further ahead is the target. The problem is I have tried several times but it is just too far to jump.

You must use the consoles to make "stepping stones" rise up. Each time you use one, pay attention to the glowing beams coming out of it, they will show you what the console is currently affecting. Or if there is a bridge (like the one you drove across to get to the Eos vault) you can run across it instead of trying to jump the gap.

Right. I solved the problem by chance when I come close to the target.

must admit I love exploring those vaults shame about the need to evacuate like Yesterday every time we activate one.

I found the later ones more time-consuming despite being smaller. They often have more intricate puzzles or require travelling through alternative areas. Eg. Havarl's is more of a tomb-raiding situation compared to being handed a bigger vault smack in the middle of a map. Then there's the ones later with whole sections almost dedicated to secret loot - never got lost/confused on my first playthrough but on my latest one, two vaults felt like they took forever/much larger than EoS due to more exploring and less 'follow the quest marker'.
They don't feel smaller at all. Then you have areas like Meridian which is essentially an entire mission using the Vault resources/doodads.

I don't know about that as Elaaden' s was pretty big Kadara's was a decent size too I thought. Granted not the same size as Eos but I think they always meant for Eos's to be almost like a complete level in itself given it was a main quest.

Indeed Elaaden's can sometimes for me take the better part of the day to figuer out and get done with that weird puzzle that is right at the first door with those consoles and have to light all 5 up that is one awkward puzzle.
