OK, I've been having some odd dialogue changes in ME3. First I noticed is when James pulls Shepard to go to the Defense Committee. They run into Shepard and then Kaidan. Anderson calls Kaidan "Major". In previous pts, Shepard would say "Major?" Anderson would follow with "You hadn't heard" and Shepard would get a dialogue wheel to respond. That part where Shepard says "Major?" is no longer happening. I tested it in different games.
On Mars, after defeating the first group of Cerberus troops (right after the execution of some Alliance marines), Kaidan has some dialogue about Cerberus being a terrorist organization and a little suspicion is warranted. That never happened in any prior runs.
Then, right when they go inside and Kaidan says he wants a straight answer. After those questions, Shepard has always said "You of all people should know better" (or something along those lines). That dialogue has been changed and I can't figure out why.
I've checked the mods I have. I don't think I have anything installed now than I did in the past. Pretty sure I don't have ME3Recalibrated because it messes with another mod I use.
Any thoughts?

I don't think any mod i know affects the first VS encounter (IIRC ME3Recalibrated's first dialog change is when the Alliance Cruiser explodes above Vancouver)
If you did't accidentally play that part in action mode i got no idea.
As for the Mars instances:
If that first dialoge is what I think it is (happening after killing the batch of troopers by the APCs in front of the Base-entry), it always happened (at least with Ashley) for me.
And I know that the second one about the 'straight answer' (happens during the elevator/airlock ride, right before you meet Liara) depends on the answer paragon/renegade choice.

Yes, but a couple things. First, I have the Same-Sex Romances mod installed, which should circumvent that. I even used Gibbed's to check that Kaidan's romance was flagged as having happened in ME1 and no romance in ME2. Even mod aside, in the past I've either used gender swap in ME1 to make the romance happen or just used Gibbed for ME2 to have retroactively have romanced Kaidan. Something weird is happening. I didn't install ME3Recalibrated because I knew it was in conflict with the SS mod. I even did a full reinstall to make sure every mod was wiped out and put in only the ones I've previously used. Still go the wrong dialogue. Now I don't even want to play.  |

If the previous romance is flagged correctly, then disabling mods one by one (or each time a half of the active ones) and replaying the first few mars minutes is probably your only chance to find the culprit. |

I removed every mod, uninstalled ME3, removed all folders about it, reinstalled and then installed the s/s mod. Still won't recognize that Kaidan was a love interest (with the Gibbed editor made it so, since this was a new game starting in ME3). This always worked before and now won't. Very disappointing.

Seems like the problem comes from your gibbed save. s/s mod from me1 might change things that you can't with gibbed. Maybe it worked before because you didn't use the s/s mod in me1 but the "console mode" thing

Maybe. I probably haven't done a ME3 NG since the mod was installed. Yeah, that makes sense. Pre-mod, I could use Gibbed to make the romance have "already existed" but why the time the date at Apollo's happened they "forgot" they were dating. Post-mod, it might clash with the other modification. Ah, well, no new ME3 NG for me. |

ME3 dialogue variations are affected as follows:
Did you meet X character in ME1 or 2? Dialogue references previous game to an extent.
Did you do their personal arc in 1 or 2? Dialogue fully references previous game knowledge
Did you import a saved game? No = Dialogue introduces you to concepts with exposition
Did you import a saved game from the comic? Dialogue introduces you more to stuff than if you import regularly.
