So, recently at gamescom the game director of Anthem got asked if there's going to be a beta and his answer was that there's going to be a demo and they do testing in closed alphas. Remember how well that turned out last time with Andromeda? The demo was via Origin Access and the game turned out to be total garbage and full of bugs. Why Bioware keeps following their "Working as intended" routine even though they should have learned by now that the stuff they put out without proper public beta testing is always full of bugs is beyond me... but that's Bioware I guess. Here's the "interview"

Anthem can't turn out worse then Andromeda. And despite that dumpster fire, still got my money's worth experiencing something new and participating in the forum drama. Once that fun ran dry, managed to trade game for even more money's worth.
One thing Anthem has going for it is that it's the game we ME3mp players always wanted, all budget dedicated 3rd person sci-fi online game from BioWare. Only issue is not sure how well playing is large open maps is going to compare.

Just wait after launch and see if it's any good. That's what I intend to do anyways. I'm not very positive towards it though because of recent developments aka MEA...

I have no interest at all in Anthem. I do not want to play a TitanFall/Destiny clone. The fact that they have no originality and have to copy other companies ideas shows how far they have fallen.
I stopped being a BioWare fan with ME3. I did not buy Andromeda. Between ME3 and Andromeda it was obvious that the company no longer has good writers or animators, and that their upper level managers are more focused on politics and the SJW agenda than on making good sci-fi games.
EA certainly has helped the company along on it's death spiral. ME3 was a rushed and incomplete game that reeked like a rancid dogfart. Anthem was a tragedy, not even worthy of a AAA studio. It is patently obvious that the magic is gone, and sadly has been gone ever since ME2 wrapped up.
I think we are seeing the last death rattles of what was once a company that reached for the stars. I used to dream about Mass Effect, and not just the story. I loved being part of the Galactic community, flying all over the cosmos, saving the Galaxy....
Yet, I have to remember that the same people that shut down the BSN are still the ones that are at the helm. They flipped off their community and their fans. They made their bed.

I missed the launch of ME3MP, missed a couple of the first weekend challenges, because I was dead set on finishing the SP first. After finishing the SP, I was really torn... Should I ever play Mass Effect again? That's when I started playing 3MP. I missed some stuff, and I was a scrub for a while. Boy, did I lose out

You guys are missing my point. Everyone is starting a new game clean slate, therefore everyone experiencing new experiences for the first time together.

When ME3 was released I had already played the demo extensively and met some cool people, some of them I had talked to before on the forums about ME2 builds and shenanigans. So I was torn between playing the SP to see how the story would continue (and also to avoid spoilers) and hopping right into MP. I decided in favor of SP and pretty much played through the whole thing with just a few breaks. Had fun, was disappointed by the ending like many other and then joined the other players in MP. Fortunately because I already knew a few people from the demo days and because I don't totally suck at this game I could play gold games right away so better weapons and kits were unlocked pretty quickly (Black Widow in the first pack, Javelin in the second... lucky me).
Before MEA was released I played the 10h Origin Access down to the last minute, spent every bit of it in multiplayer and was really shocked how bad it felt. Lots of bugs (sound glitching out every other game being one of the most annoying ones), horrible UI, terrible weapon feedback, hitboxes, movement and so on... I ended up buying the game anyways because I thought "you cannot NOT buy a Mass Effect game and it will probably get better" - I could have and it didn't. Spent around ~120-130 hours (can't even look it up now because I had it deleted) with this game, mostly in MP and it did not really improve. In the end they even made it worse with all their weapon variations.
What am I trying to say? Sharing my experience with launches for one. But also reminding myself how those "demos" they released were pretty much useless when it came to finding and fixing some major bugs before release. You know, like other companies do with their betas. So I think Anthem will suffer the same fate. Maybe it will get better support after launch if reviews and sales are more favorable than MEA. But personally I don't have much hope for this game. I'd like to be wrong and be pleasantly surprised if they somehow manage to make a fun MP game but given their history in recent years I just doubt this will be the case and I foresee a lot of bugs early on because they didn't do proper testing - again.

I've remained firmly in the realm of "indifference" when it comes to the last several games, and that has served me well.
Unlike DA:I and ME:A, which were part of a franchise that historically contained at least one game that I liked, Anthem seems to be inspired more as a way to refine the lootbox system from ME 3 MP.
Maybe there was a more conventionally creative impetus behind it, but it doesn't seem to follow the RPG-to-video game pattern of BioWare's past original IPs. It seems to follow the pattern of "how to design a game built around its multiplayer microtransactions."
It's entirely possible that the game will ultimately end up being a good one. Their best effort in that arena so far was ME 3 MP, and at the time they had no experience with online multiplayer (BG/NWN doesn't count because isaidso.) This time they have three efforts under their belt (although still kinda just the one really good one.) But for me, for years the fact that the only information about it was related to that multiplayer doesn't inspire confidence that there was an organically creative idea behind it.
