People want to take a one-way trip to Mars now for you had all those people sign up to be part of Mars One, so I think there would be plenty of people that would want to take the risk and go to Andromeda. We do not know everything that is one Earth there are plenty of species that could be in areas that we have no explored that could defy what we expect. Yeah. May be better equivalency would be if those people wanted to take a trip past Mars to, let's say, Ganimede, with the reasoning 'the farther - the better, for the hell of it'

May be better equivalency would be if those people wanted to take a trip past Mars to, let's say, Ganimede, with the reasoning 'the farther - the better, for the hell of it' Developing technology that doesn't yet exist to push how far they can travel beyond Earth. They developed the engines for Andromeda to travel there and currently there isn't a technology to really take people to Mars yet. Just because Mars is in our solar system they would be complete stranded there just like with the trip to Andromeda completely cut off from Earth.
