Ah, the joy of ME modding. There are a few that are simple, you just drop them into a folder and disable updates from Origin. However when it comes to appearance it's far trickier. It's a few years ago now, but I remember using....I think it was texmod? You have to load any hair or appearance mods through texmod everytime you play. It's not like DAO where you insert them into the game and you're done. When I did this with ME2 I remember that I could only load the faces I would see in that play session, ie my current squad, because loading every modded face would cause too much lag. In the end I gave up with it, too much hassle for me. Here's a guide and check out youtube too. www.girlplaysgame.com/2015/08/28/how-to-install-femshep-hair-mods/It's also possible to change your Shep with the gibbed save tool. You can change their facial structure and colours that way, and it's permanent.

TexMod or what it was is great for trying out texture mods, but does not work (afaik) with mesh mods. You'll need the ME3Explorer Toolset: github.com/ME3Explorer/ME3ExplorerThe Wiki with detail descriptions is here: me3explorer.wikia.com/wiki/ME3Explorer_WikiThe .upk file is installed via the Meshplorer tool. For the Texture (.dds and .psd) you'll need to use the Texplorer tool. (Or the MEM tool that was developed independently)Maybe the psd file needs to be converted to dds first. These are permanent changes to the game. Note: I'm not sure if the wiki is up to date (or if the github is, iirc there is another dev branch by MGamerz/Femshep, but i bet the GirlsPlayGames mods were made with Me3Explorer 2 or something even older, so there will likely be certain things that don't fit) There is a tutorial on the GirlPlayGames site for the older ME3Explorer toolset. The basics should still apply but the GUI is different now. www.girlplaysgame.com/2014/02/28/quick-manual-mod-install-tutorial/There also seems to be a link to the ME3Explorer version used to create the Mods: www.girlplaysgame.com/2014/08/06/mass-effect-temporary-fix-for-my-mods/If the newer toolset doesn't work for that mod, it might be worth checking out the old version.

Dragon Age Origins - put the file in the override folder.
ME3 - Get a degree in coding then spend 20 hours trying to figure it out.

Thanks for your help ArcadiaGrey & KrrKs, but I've put this in the too hard basket. I stumbled at the first hurdle. I couldn't figure out how to install the .upk file with Meshplorer2. It contains no help files and the ME3Explorer Wiki says "The article Meshplorer does not yet exist on this community. You can help out by adding a few sentences." I have the DLC version of the mod packaged by ElysiumFic that works fine, I just wanted to retexure the armour and as I couldn't figure out how to extract the .dds files from Textures_DLC_CON_FSA2.tfc, I thought it would be easier to use the old version, but it seems nothing is easy when modding ME3. I had edited the textures for the Aria outfit on Liara, but the meshes for that were packaged as a .mod & the .dds's just needed Autofix with TPF Tools. Installing an older version of ME3explorer seems like more trouble than it's worth.

ME3 explorer really should work. If not, I think ALOT should do the trick. It's a bit time consuming to get ALOT up and running but I'm pretty sure .mod and .dds becomes a simple matter of drag and drop. olnorton

With the earlier version of ME3Explorer, the upk (mesh) file may have been drag and drop. But I went for Customizable Asari Adept Armour for FemShep by mrjack900 instead. His ME3Eplorer version comes with the source files, so you can edit the .dds's and overwrite the mod. Now Shep and Liara look more like a team. And years into the future, I'll be able to put on the old commando leathers for special nights with Liara. (Goddess that will be embarrassing)
