Of the game / store platforms; Steam, GOG and Origin, Origin again flat out refuse to run after I had to overhaul the system again after three electrical trips that killed the main drive. I got myself a battery this time so it won't happen again. The OS is a true blue win 10 this time, not like the last which was a win 7 upgraded to 10 (done by tech) which created problems when I was attempting to install programs. This time, everything went off without a hitch except for Origin. It installed but did not launch. Tried one or two suggestions on the net that didn't work so I think I can finally say goodbye to Origin. Goodbye to MET and DA. If / when DA4 comes out, I doubt I'll be playing it. P.S. I noticed if I complain about Origin, it may decide to work so I'm just loudly bashing it.   |

For me at least, Origin has not been down for the past days at all, and I've been playing at various hours; morning, afternoon, nighttime (Europe).
I have had some soundbugs - usual, and it often says the server is offline or something on the starting screen, but still goes into ME3MP just fine.
Also notable on my part: there haven't been any hard freezes for a few weeks now. Last month I was getting that randomly pretty often. Perhaps not related, but who knows.

And, the FL/chat windows reset at random times, making me miss some message, and causing the friends offline bug to occur even without restarting this shitty software. Oh, and since yesterday i'm having stuttering in game. I tried to solve it trying the usual common fixes (checking drivers, unusual processes, and so on). I've just fixed it by turning "origin in game" OFF. That was causing me stuttering in game, not matter the game/CPU settings. for me its the "chat iss offline" most of the time. may or may not come right after 30-40 min. and notifications tend to throw me back to desktop minimising the game, especially those "went offline" ones for some reason. rrreal good fun running challenges and for it ho appen during objectives waves

Yep, more of not seeing online friends on FL. Last night, I could prove this too. I had Boatinhovic offline on my list, but showing in all bright colours in game, when glanced at husbands Origin list.  I restarted Origin, and then Boati was showing just fine, but NinjaSuperiority supposedly went offline (but actually he was happily online on hubby's list, instead). ARGH. I feel neglectedly speshul. I haven't felt the stuttering mentioned above, but my game does freeze often. Except for the past 4 weeks. I'm hoping the Nvidia GeForce downgrading (to 416.94 from November) helped. Knocks on wood. |

Origin randomly crashed yesterday, when not doing anything remotely connected with it. I was actually installing/upgrading the smiley plugin here on BSN, when it suddenly started flashing on my taskbar - I clicked over to it, and it was the Origin Crash Reporter. Working as intended.  |

A content patch on Origin seems to be most often a store page update. Sometimes, this coincides with new sales/deals, and general price drops, so if you're waiting on things to come down, these might be your only heads-up. It's not always this, but the coincidence rate is pretty high. However, the content patch message itself can bug out, because lolrigin, in that case, the next tip MIGHT work for you.
Also, a thing to keep note of, is the ram useage of Origin's built-in spy-ware (QtWebEngine), like all programs based on Chrome architecture, it suffers absurd memory leak issues. Many issues with Origin's menus and pages can be fixed by simply killing the process and letting it re-start, which will force the active Origin page to refresh, and the menus to reload, too.
