So the quick description of the mass effect annihilation book talks about disease on the quarian ark as one of the main conflicts in the book. i know the book doesnt come out till October but with do you think that this disease will play a part in the sequel to andromeda if it ever comes out?

It will probably be mentioned, but by then, I expect it to have no more of an appearance than...
Dang, there's a serious bacteria/virus locked up securely in a lab somewhere in the world for some reason, and I can't remember which. Probably in that way.
I expect it to be a solved problem, no more an issue than say the Black Death today. It's a worrying thing that it exists, but right now, it's possible that past tense is better suited to describe it's existence. Pray it doesn't come back.

I believe you're thinking of smallpox, the only disease to be eradicated in the wild by humans. I still have a scar from the vaccine I got as a kid.
Plague is still a thing, though very rare as you said. A case was reported in June of this year. A boy in Idaho got it -- probably from the fleas of ground squirrels near his home.

You know that news story is extra scary when you actually live in idaho....... like me. And why does Jaal not support this topic? we have never seen a group of people bring diseases over from another land that the local population had no immunity against go horribly wrong for the local population before. why would Jaal be afraid of that?

I just read down to the bottom of the article and it's even worse if you live in Madagascar. In 2017 they had an outbreak of Plague that killed 200 people.
Fair point on Jaal, but it'll be worse if something happens since the Angara apparently have a taboo against speaking about illness.

Yup, it's probably smallpox.
If the Angara are lucky, hospitals are advanced to the point they can contain it and solve it. This isn't 16th century Earth.
