We need info dammit! For reference: "Jon" refers to Jonathan Warner, the games director and guy slowly working his way towards becoming the next Joker

Hopefully at TGS they show something new. I'm dying to see this interceptor in action, that little tib bit of game play did tell me nothing.

There's plenty of time yet, it's still 5 more months to release. Bethesda didn't even announce Fallout 4 until 5 months before. At least the gameplay we see going forward should be pretty indicative of what we'll get in the final game.

Anthem remains the game that BioWare has shared the most about in terms of trailers, gameplay and information at an equivalent point pre-launch compared to Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I'd expect to see 'something' each month with a push escalating at the year-end approaches.

This kinda reminds me of Mike Laidlaw's tweet during E3 where Anthem has been the most marketed Bioware game EA has ever promoted. Though I can't be sure if he speaks with bitterness in that tweet

Which means expectations for sales are also higher. Which means truly awesome amounts of pressure.

I mean, there's not a lot of point in giving out a lot of information right now, as there are so many other games that will suck up all of that attention coming out well before Anthem. Spider-man just came out, Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Assassins Creed: Odyssey, and Fallout 76 are all games that are going to get a lot of coverage, and lot of marketing, and a lot of interest. It makes sense to wait until after those games have already come out and hype has somewhat diminished before trying to hype gamers to part with another $60. Putting out the hype now will just be drowned out by games that the majority of gamers are more excited for.

He might just mean Edmonton games - SWTOR I think was definetly marketed more, it appeared on an episode of The Big Bang Theory. And I think it's still up there as one of the most expensive games of all time

However, another interpretation could be that, though it hasn't been marketed more than SWTOR currently, the budget for marketing is more than that of SWTOR and will be spent out in the next 6 months with heavier marketing than we have seen. We'll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps, but I just don't see them going to the same cost - SWTOR also got 3 Blur trailers - I haven't seen anything so far that shows the same extravagance that was with SWTOR. I don't mean that Anthem won't have good marketing, or it won't be effective, just they don't seem to be putting as big showy pieces, but I would also argue that some of that showiness with SWTOR might not have been necessary anyway. (also EA won't be paying for all the marketing, they seem to have a deal with Microsoft to help pay for the marketing with Anthem)

I think Bioware have been pretty forthcoming with info about Anthem (it's a new IP so it's an unknown and you need Bioware fans in particular to find it familiar and welcoming and known) but I think it's a long time between hints, info, and release, so it leaves a void.

I agree but, I myself put the fault at the Frostbite game engine (regardless what the utube articles say) that engine from what I have seen is difficult to work with, we went from 3 yrs between games to five to now six plus yrs but to me Bioware is working hard to make the engine work but *shrug* will it pay off? we will see. so lack of info is just purely cause they are not sure what is really working in my opinion.
