I'm already thinking that this game could be Game of the Year 2019 ... for me at least.

Not liking RE7 doesn't make it any less of a Resident Evil. By the way it was a great game, a comeback to the survival horror style and a breath of fresh air after the boring RE6. RE7 is more of an RE game than the likes of RE6 probably. not the first series to try out a different camera among other things. I love Resident Evil 2 remake but i will probably replay it with first person mod too as some point. It would be interesting if Capcom added a First Person mode. Likely in a update.

It has a lot going for it, but I have three big complaints about the game:
1 - Ada Wong is supposed to be charming and mysterious, not cold and mean. The model was updated really well, tho'.
2 - That frigging G2 boss fight is an exercise in letting a boss' random attack patterns determine 100% of the fight's results.
3 - The series has had dodging as a basic function in every game going back to, and including, Resident Evil 3 (maybe not 7.) Not having it in this game creates situations like the G2 boss fight.
I don't think an update is going to fix any of that, but they might add a Mercenaries or Raid Mode (which I'd probably be happy with.)

G2 is easy especially if you saved a flashbang nade. Once he starts attacking you from the roof, after activating the circuit breaker, stand in the spot where the red herb is located because he's unable to damage you in that spot for some reason. After he starts attacking the shutter stand to the left and in front of it as he emerges then book it to the platform immediately as he breaks in the room.

So far Leon's campaign seems to be more difficult than Claire's due to how ineffective the Remington is at crowd control, stuns or damage until it's fully upgraded. On a Hardcore S+ run the licker pair at the lab can be hell if you're tryng to save up supplies for G3/ST, and or if you didn't acquire the DE due to time constraints.

3 - That is not true. Dodge only existed on RE3 but it was abandoned in the next games until the series became more of a shooter than a survival horror. I prefer to use the shotgun to blast zombies heads from close range or when they are faking being dead. It takes 4 shots in hardcore to kill a licker, best to avoid them or use grenades first. I found it is more usefull to make ammo for the magnum rather than the shotgun. And until I found the flamethrower the upgraded matilda/45 pistol were Leon best friends.

You must be thinking of a different boss fight (though I'm really not sure which one.) Edit: RE 4's dodge was quick-time and only applied to some enemies, so you could say it didn't have it. I don't remember if 5 had it. RE 6 definitely had dodging, as do Revelations 1 and 2.

When you are trapped in the room on fire and he is attacking you from the ceiling. After that just do as Hier0phant said.
On the plataform his attacks aren't random. But if you need there is a flashbang close to the container controls you can use to blind him.

It wasn't what I was referring to. On the plataform his attacks aren't random. I have over an hour of footage testing the fight, and his attack patterns are definitely random. The weighted likelihood of the grab and slow attacks change dramatically during the period between pushing the button and the crate landing, but are still random.

I found it is more usefull to make ammo for the magnum rather than the shotgun. And until I found the flamethrower the upgraded matilda/45 pistol were Leon best friends. This. When i'm not doing a hardcore speedrun i knife (very OP, killed G1 on HC along with a nade too in 2 min) the lickers in the RPD to death to clear a path of escape from Mr.X's later arrival, while the lab lickers get two fully upgraded desert eagle shots each to the skull. With the Remington even though it's power was underwhelming in comparison to it's original incarnation i mostly use it to kill cerberus in one shot or behead prone zombies. Fully upgraded Matilda and the flamethrower despite the inventory space usage is a godsend though. G2 is easy especially if you saved a flashbang nade. Once he starts attacking you from the roof, after activating the circuit breaker, stand in the spot where the red herb is located because he's unable to damage you in that spot for some reason. Mind you when you drop down to the platform is the crucial part because if you can drop a stun grenade before doing so, you can net yourself enough time to activate the crane without being savaged from behind, and you'll be prepared to make G2 kneel once he drops onto the platform then catching him with the crane on it's return trip after he recovers. I managed to knock G2 off the platform with only one activation cycle on hardcore but i am unsure about the amount of damage needed to do it outside the use of 350 Flamethrower fuel, and one magnum shot.

I managed to knock G2 off the platform with only one activation cycle on hardcore but i am unsure about the amount of damage needed to do it outside the use of 350 Flamethrower fuel, and one magnum shot. While getting there was painful to my brain, I think I've sorted out the sweet spot between getting it done reliably quick and avoiding the use of ammunition. I'm kind of (by which I mean very) compulsive about not spending ammo when I know it can't technically kill the enemy. Basically, running in a circle is fine as long as you haven't pressed the button to swing the crate back (moving it off the platform doesn't do anything to his pursuit aggression.) Because his aggression is normal, his attacks can be dodged by circling, even the grab attack (if you give a wide enough berth.) The trick is to keep circling until he randomly does a slow attack from the "kill zone" (or something else that gives you a bit of distance) at which point you run to the button and then immediately toss a Flash Grenade at him. I think from here on out, as long as I plan to save two flash grenades (they'll stack with the third in the boss arena) for the fight, I can get it done in one or two tries because I'll have a spare if anything goes wrong. I had to shoot a few 9mm bullets at his eye to try and stun him when he recovered too quickly, but I think I can avoid that with a bit more practice. I've beaten him several times without using any ammo or grenades, but when it took over half an hour to pull that off the last time, I decided it was worth using a few grenades to make it easier. I think I can do it reliably with just 2 flash grenades and no ammo, but there's no harm in having that third "spare" since it stacks. Also, I'm amazed I'm not more annoyed at the moment, because I just finished a Claire run intending to get "A" rank, only to reach the end and see that I'd done it in 3 hours and 39 minutes. If I'd shaved ten minutes off and saved 3 times instead of 5, I'd have got an "S+" Rank. I never died once, so I never needed any of the saves. At least the idea of getting "S+" is a lot less intimidating now.

late to the party as I was off. This is my childhood all over again lol.
I already made like 6 runs.
The new reimagined outfits are pretty cool and I like them, though as they have made also the classics, I always use those.
Leon S Kennedy is back from the past.

I should mention for anyone who never tried RE Revelations 2 that it is really good and worth getting.
The first Revelations was originally a mobile game, and it showed when they updated it for consoles. But Revelations 2 was much better, and I think it's the best Resident Evil Game after 2 and 4. It has some really innovative game mechanics, and the use of two sets of two protagonists makes for some of the most interesting replayability the series has come up with, yet.
I'm actually really hoping Resident Evil 8 is a direct follow-up to Revelations 2. I think a sequel featuring Natalya as an older character could create some of the best story possibilities the series has come up with so far.
If you're looking for more RE and you haven't tried it yet, give it a shot. I think it's about $15 these days.

Where did you guys heard about RE8 and RE3? Also i played Revelations 2. It is indeed a nice little game, it does have more of a survival horror feeling. Maybe RE8 will follow the non esteroid junkie Chris? Not going to lie, Chris punching a tons weight boulder in RE5 is probably one of the most bizarres moments in the whole series for me.

Capcom did say that, if the fans demanded it (if RE2 remake did well), they would do a RE3 remake. As for RE8, why not? RE2 remake showed that Resident Evil is far from dead.
