Fair enough. I'm going to finish my current TW3, DAI and Shadow of the Tomb Raider PTs before I even think about diving back in. With the advent of The Witcher TV show been lots of chat, I am almost tempted to play TW3 again but its like ACOD just so damn big!!!! DAI (after over 10 previous PT's) I tried to replay it about 6 months ago but got to Skyhold and abandoned it. Just the combat and crafting alone was a bit too tiresome and so much desert!!!!! Haven't played Tomb Raider, people kept mentioning QTE's!!!!! Shadow of the Tomb Raider is beautiful - but it's the least of the three games, which is a shame. Still, 2nd PT so it did enough for me. NG+ makes for an interesting change of pace. It was a bit of a slog in the early game first time.

So logged back into ACOD today after reinstalling. What of course was the first thing that happened???? Ambushed by damn Lynx and pigs, GOOD TIMES but the new Ares ability made short work of them. The took some contracts and within 30 minutes killed 5 Mercenaries. Also completed the LToG "Old Flames Burn Brighter" enjoyed the first part, but the obvious set-up at the end, that something would go wrong was - well too obvious!!!! Does anyone know if you train the kid to fight instead of farm if the outcome is different at the farm when the bandits attack?
Like someone else mentioned it would have been nice if Kassandra could have settled down with Anais (isn't that one of Foltests kids in TW2?) and her son or at least said that even if she still did go off doing her mercenary deeds in the game. Pic's Oddly the Dikastes armour looks better in the main game, sorry only a back shot FRAPS had a wobble Once more back into the fray Intimate times with Anais Kass dressed up for date night at the markets

So I did 'the beacons are lit'... that fecking quest. It is interesting to note you don't have to be stealthy...just that it gives some kind of intangible reward... which I'm sure never materializes. Also did No Good Deed... which is a clue of how messed up it was going to be. Though I did have a lot of fun slaughtering the guard force... the theory being that I was curious to see if that guard still shows up if you murder everyone in sight. it really is frustrating. I feel like they genuinely wanted to put more consequences in this and diverging paths... they make it clear through the dialogue and how there are essentially three factions. All the set up is there, There is hints in the dialogue...yet you get railroaded.
It was especially frustrating when I actually did beat Hekate there, and then nothing changed. They were arguing about me and I wanted to say I wanted power, but all I had the option to do was rag on Hekate.
Then it made a big production of me being banned from her temple... and then there wasn't any guards in sight. Wanted to slaughter some peeps on the way out to 'help the rebellion'

It has the bones of a good DLC but the illusion of choice and then the summary dismissal of it at the end combined with all the ridiculous travlling back and forth just frustrated the Hades out of me by the end of Elyssium!!!

Does anyone know if you train the kid to fight instead of farm if the outcome is different at the farm when the bandits attack?
Answer... I've seen both endings, and surprisingly... yes. If you train him, the kid will (somehowdon'taskmehow) manage to chase off the bandits. However, it will sour your relationship with Anais. You'll remain friends, but she no longer trusts you (as you trained him when she told you not to), and no longer asks you to stay.

If it took me 5 min of training to turn him into a competent warrior, or 5 min to turn him into a competent farmer, surely I could have taken 10 MIN out my day to train him to become a competent murder-farmer like me.

So good news, bad news: Good news: Finally finished up with Elysium. And got banished to the underworld...kind of a bitch move for Persephone given *what* was waiting down there. Bad news: Well I was hoping to go and do the new LToG and was curious to see if Hades would just continue now that I have all the DLC. Well the DLC continued...and so I don't have a good reason to do the new LToG until its over. That and I think I died to Cerberos 5 times, which is actually ironic because I was dreading this fight with this build. As an aside I think that was a reason that Alexios had better luck, a hunter does more against it. Other than that Hades is off to a rather interesting start. I decided to just strike out in a random direction and well I bumped...into Tartoros first thing off, and well I tried going around...which ended up going through...which people saw me...and it ended up resulting in quite the chase. I think all the way to the area wheree...surprisingly...I ran into the Champion of Beotia...a Fallen Cultist...the second tier...which also gave me the first part of that infamous armor. So yipee.

I took a brief look in YT and giving this one a miss because in most of my PTs, I did not opt to romance anybody. No doubt this old flame is probably somebody unknown from the past so it's going to be weird. It's like having a stranger come up and say; hey love, remember the great night we had? Me; what? I didn't bed anybody and I have a good memory. Who're you? The devs really need to write better romance or admit they can't and just drop it altogether.

It's kind of like that, its a romance from way back and I actually enjoyed the first half of it but like all the romances you are not really left with any closure. That's probably one of the redeeming features of LoTFB romance, it at least is in a way is a complete romance with an ending that is realistic. The latest LToG, well the choices you make influence the outcome but the choices themselves are unrealistic as to what should influence the outcome if that makes sense. If you don't mind spoilers read Hrungr post it sums it up really well, what he is talking about basically influences the outcome of the romance.

So much for letting you play as asexual or gay. Now not only does the DLC break that promise, but the base game does too with this LToG. It's almost amazing how little they seem to care or learn.

I'd think they could but it might be a case of once it's set in stone it's set in stone. Of course the frustrating part is they brought her forward into the narrative. If she had stayed in the past it would've been acceptable. Doubly so if they never specifically defined the relationship.

SO I am a frickin idiot. It is recommended you switch out your armor for a Isu headpiece in Elysium...and I thought I had put on my Pirate hood...turned out I hadn't...no wonder Kass seemed a bit sluggish. Afterwards she went back to being her usual murder nunny self...well without the nun part. So lets see here: After defeating Cerberos and my initial probelems I have gone back to having pretty much a blast with this game and its whole production. Closing rifts and getting ability points. On that note I guess I must have had a dream where I leveled up to 99 and I was more then dissapointed when I was level 97 in the game. Doubly so when I found out I didn't have some of the mastery levels maxed out. So now...I am level 99 and all those stats are leveled up. Did Phoibe's quest line. Did Brasidas's quest line. Helped out Charon a bit. Threw Elpenor into the abyss. Then just killed Perseus before logging off for the moment. I also reloaded because of stupidly agreeing to give Hades the flower instead of the sick woman... Also did 2 of the 3 Keeper's Insights.

Damn I missed that option but I enjoyed Hades cussing him out at the end of his quest!!!!! I don't even remember there being an option to give Hades the flower???? So you're enjoying Hades? It was a nice change after Elyssium, especially Kass getting her sense of humour back!!!!!

I mean it is funny first time him and Alexios was getting along and I am usually a sucker for redemption stories so when HE threw HIM into the abyss it was kind of a huge disconnect...as I noted when I did it. But I realized doing it this time that Elpenor was like 'I admire Hades'...you admire the psicotic god of the dead? So yeah he hasn't *actually* changed. So I killed him. And yeah Hades is a blast. My favorite of all these mini DLCs. It is probably the thinest 'story' wise...in some ways...ironically. But it just has so much personality. Hades, Poseidon, the environment. So immersive and so fun. I mean hell playing it I can often 'feel the dust in my lungs'.

So I finished up Episode 2...Hades: Ironically enough I found something ELSE out about the game...man I love it when that happens. I was hunting through one of the fots and I remarked to my wife 'man I wish we could do this in that game'. 'this' was being able to pull off a guard while you were hanging off a wall behind them and dragging them or stabbing them still. Well as I was saying this I found out...you can indeed do this. I pulled a big heavy isu guard over the wall and cackled madly. It took me two times to fight Hades. I forgot that his attacks actually drained you of adrenaline so the second time I was a lot more conservative and nailed his arse. I also found it real funny fighting all his guards and I was able to kill them even before they finished their scripted dialogue. I also beat Herakles bloody even after...beating him bloody. Meanwhile Episode 3 must be cursed for me. So started off making a beeline and hunting down all the Keeper Instincts which took me a while because one was hidden behind a level 1 wall. But I got them all in the end and quite early too so I can go back to doing... the rest. I did 'In Dreams'...this time saving the girl. I also went to the forge after collecting enough Adamant and I was a bit surprised/ impressed to get another engraving for the thing...converting fifty percent Assassin damage to all damage...something that I think will be quite valuable for my further adventures...so I stuck the engraving on my staff. Not convinced it might not work how I think it does. But yeah then that is where the trouble began...or throughout it. I wanted to do 'Adamantly Yours' next. But I couldn't find it on the map, spent who knows how many hours on the damn map looking for the thing. So I kept on looking then out of frustrating I started hitting the map icons and gameplay icons on and off...on and off...rapidly. Didn't expect it to work...but it did. I saw it just pop up under one of the FT points. *grumbles* So that is what I am going to be doing tonight.

'this' was being able to pull off a guard while you were hanging off a wall behind them and dragging them or stabbing them still. Well as I was saying this I found out...you can indeed do this. I pulled a big heavy isu guard over the wall and cackled madly. Yeah, it's definitely a handy move. You could do that in Origins as well. You can whistle to call them over as well, and... yoink!

Puttered around for a little bit today, just waiting for No Man's Sky: Beyond, which is releasing in a couple o' days. I have a few orichalcum kicking around, so I might have a peek and see what's in the store tomorrow. Not much else to other than get into staring contests with bears until the last LToG drops next month.

Pretty certain you could do it as far back as AC3 IIRC.
