Anyway I then fought "Ros" AKA Cerberus, god that's annoying fight especially for someone spec'd as an Assassin. If it wasn't such a pain in the butt I'd be tempted to change back to Warrior. Isn't it like a single click to change gear sets? Or you mean changing the Masteries too? Meh, I evolved far beyond that I have everything pretty maxed out.

Yeah I can just change gear but all my mastery's are very different now. But yeah I still could and it wouldn't be a big deal I just wasn't prepared for it at the time.

I've been playing Alexios all over again since I don't have my saves from the old pc on this one. Taking my time but doing everything the same as I did the first time around. Doubt I will ever do Kass again. I never finished her play through anyways.
Just found Myrrine, but stopped story stuff and started clearing out some stuff in zones previous that I rushed through. Will probably take a break from it this weekend though since Detroit Become Human is on Steam today so I'll probably pick that up and play it again.

Here's what the cult chart looks like after Kassandra visited the secret lair of the mask people when I did almost everything before that. And the chart after I unlocked all the exclamation marks In this image, I was able to recruit 2 mercs, but unfortunately a third couldn't handle my sword of flames, so he ended up being burned out. haha Say hello one-eye.

Didn't take any screenshots last night - but Kassandra spent a few hours traipsing around Attika, clearing out ?s and tracking down Ostraka. Came across a contract - Charged Vengeance (or something) - kill 10 Athenians with swords, 15 with Spears and 10 With Charged Melee attack....and fell down a rabbit hole of storming forts in Athens and the surrounding areas Managed to get the sword and spear kills without too much trouble, but the charged attack kills... Problem 1 - waiting until a charged attack would kill them off (apparently knocking them off a cliff with a charged attack doesn't count ) Problem 2 - once you had that sorted, you had to have enough time to charge the attack, which meant being far enough away that they - or another soldier - couldn't attack and cancel the charge. Problem 3 - Approximately 231% of Athenian soldiers appear to carry heavy shields, meaning the charged attack doesn't do damage, just breaks guard and the time taken to charge, allows them to recover and set guard again!!!!! Arrrrggghhh!! Still - managed to pick up a couple of Cultists, so it wasn't a total wash. And I still have nearly 2 days to complete the final 8 charged kills.

OMG that charged attack thing was absolutely incredibly annoying. Thought my blood pressure was going to cause a cardiac arrest!!!!!! Especially since I had to reset my abilities to do it as well. I found a good spot where Athenian soldiers were riding in and out of a fort, the problem was it was a road with a steep slope off the side and I'd melee the guy to low health then hit them with charged attack but sometimes they'd still have a sliver of health left but would slide down the slope and die FFS I think it took me at least 30 soldiers to get the 10 charged attack deaths.

So Alexios finished a few quests that were lying around for Alkibiades and told him I thought Iris was a mistake. I had one other black and gold quest marker for the stupid quest for the Mercenary Heitor that Alexios knows that I had put off cause it's stupid but did that as well and let the two guys fight it out at the end. Was pretty funny the guy you rescue had a sword but Heitor was using his fists and still beat the guy. Wasn't sure if he was dead, he had no level marker above him but he seemed to be breathing so I carried him and threw him in the ocean. Then I wanted to get my elemental resistance engraving from 8% to 20% to stop mercs with flame attacks giving me grief and to raise my elemental resistance to 45%. Went to visit Hepahaistos forge and went crazy upgrading other engravings to and dropped a lazy 2 million+ Drachmae!!!!! Anyway I now have a great hybrid CRIT/Resistance build meaning I can kill everything one hit with Assassin skills and in melee I am incredibly hard to kill. On the way to Hephaistos found a spawn point for deer and bears and just lurked and yet again decimated the deer population in the area as well as a few Daughters of Artemis. Then decided to head to Keos to do Xena's treasure hunt quests as I still didn't feel like doing Hades DLC. Keos was it's usual crazy self with Spartans attacking Xena's guards and everyone including Boars killing civilians. So I stood around and watched and then cleaned up the loot!!!! Pic's Keos going nuts I blame the goats that kept running through the fighting Sorry god of the deer/bears/Daughters of Artemis I think the blight has hit Ancient Greece, weird black spot in the game????

Question - I may be mis-remembering this, but Spartan Kick doesn't ever actually "kill", does it? If you knock them off a cliff or wall, sure...the fall kills them. But if they're low health and you kick them along the ground - they'll not actually die? It'll just take them down to absolute minimum health?

In other word F&*ked if I remember Maybe it was Fort Phyle or something like that, most of the forts and even camps have guards riding by frequently and I only ended up there because damn Boars kept attacking me and blowing my cover at the previous spot!!!!!!!

Yeah it's the fall that will kill them or if they are on fire or poisoned, kept forgetting that. Am missing Spartan Kick, think I'll reset (again), it's just too much fun kicking merc's into submission!!!!!

Outstanding - my current theory on strategy, then; is get in behind the lone soldier, "knock them out" and then use Charged Attack to insta-kill them (which any attack seems to do on unconscious enemies). If that fails - melee them down, sparta kick to get some distance and remove all but the very last of their health, and then advance while triggering the Charge.

Good plan I forgot my other issue was Merc's kept arriving even though I didn't have a bounty on me, hard to keep charging your attack when a Merc is hitting you and doing 20% damage each hit. The game really seems to go through phases of throwing Mercenaries at you, some days they attack me all the time or at least are trolling me and others like yesterday none. The day I was doing the Charged Melee thing they were attacking me constantly or tracking me down. So I took down a castle and let them light the warning signal and then slaughtered at least 6 mercenaries and all the waves o reinforcements until the game stopped spawning them.

So many mercs yesterday. Although, in my case, I did have bounties. Due to slaughtering Athenian soldiers inside Athens!

Ok, full disclosure, it's not really Odyssey. I am playing a little Witcher 3 at the moment but coming from Odyssey, it's kinda weird. I always keep running forward when calling Roach and I always keep cursing to myself when the dam horse just trots out of some bush and stands there behind me. It's such a little thing but having to stop, turn around, walk back to the horse to mount, then turn again and get back on the way is quite annoying. That little feature in Odyssey where the horse just comes up to you and you mount it automatically without really loosing speed is really convenient. You only realize it when you don't have it anymore.

Another little trick is to turn 180° from where you want to go before whistling for your horse (if it's far enough away where it'll have to teleport). That way it'll appear ahead of where you're going.

Took me a few hours to figure out that that actually works though.

The game keeps telling me to scout my target and plan ahead... Fort Phyle never knew what hit it. Literally. Not one of them saw me! So very proud. Also, while I was in the area, did the Heitor quests, returning his sword (not taking payment) and freeing the mercenary (convincing them to go their separate ways). Picked up and completed a few more Attika Ostraka before - accidentally - ending up doing Kleon's quest (to find the messenger at the quarry), which also allowed me to finish off a bounty for soldiers and decided to tie of the Demontho....Creating Opportunities quest for the Athenian General - who thanked me by giving me the same quest again. Had another bounty/contract to weaken the Pirate Islands by taking down their Leader, so did that. It was all going so very well. Had basically halved the garrison without anyone knowing, but one clown broke their pattern and turned around faster than I expected, saw me and created a hubbub, which caused the beacon to be lit and TWO mercs - one 2 levels higher than Kassandra - to magically appear out of nowhere It took a long time to clear that clusterfuck up. But what's done is done. Scoping the mark. Did a bit more roaming - and levelling, though I haven't spent the points. Need to level the Spear up before I can unlock level 3 of the really good Assassin and Warrior abilities. One more sync point needed before Ikaros can be used to harass.

Took me a few hours to figure out that that actually works though. Actually, this will work with both, though Odyssey's running-mount is cool. But it's still a useful trick, esp. in civilized areas where they're slower to catch up.

If that's fort Phyle I got the name of the one I was outside wrong I remember that fort though it is a fun one to do in stealth. I hate how the game prompts you 150m out to use Ikaros. Hey stupid game I am behind a huge hill, I need to eyeball it myself. Nice pic's.

So in Odyssey you just hold "X" on PC and you auto-mount Phobos yeah? I just stand still and Kass/Alexios just jumps on. So, I just hold down W to run. Then I hold X to call Phobos but while doing that I just keep running forward. Phobos will just run up behind/next to me and when he's close enough Kassandra will just automatically jump onto the running horse and you are in a gallop without ever stopping. That's what I am missing in Witcher 3.
