I really enjoyed Unity's parkour mechanics. I'd love to see Eivor swiftly and gracefully decending as Arno did in Paris. Alexios' demigod stuff worked in that game, but it would definitely screw with my immersion in Valhalla.
Sigh. So many great innovations were lost to the poor launch and endless hate-BS surrounding Unity. Despite its rough launch, it did many technical things extremely well. It will always sadden me that nearly all of the positive progress got thrown out in the process of correcting the missteps.

The series has never had good parkour. You're either far too sticky, not letting go when you want to or even grabbing things you never wanted to, or it is far too slippery where you fall to your death or go to the wrong thing as if by random chance.
As for Valhalla, I expect parkour more similar to Origins and Odyssey then past games for two reasons. 1. Most recent games and it is the most similar to it. 2. Like those games, takes place in times before huge cities like the earlier games so those parkour sets are useless.

I never got caught on things like I do in every other iteration. We could ascend and descend at an angle. You could ensure you'd slip and slide past obstacles during chases simply by holding the descend button. And those mo-capped animations! I expect you're right about Valhalla's parkour. It will likely strongly mirror Origins and Odyssey. A ton of in-games systems likely will. I would like it if Eivor felt a bit lighter on his/her feet than Bayek and the Eagle-Bearer. It's not a huge deal, but those two manage to look nimble while feeling heavy.

I finally figured out the loadout stuff. It's too bad abilities can't switch as well. So I have an assassin/poison build. A warrior/fire build. A hunter build. I will say I'm having a lot of fun with the rush assassination ability. I just finished a playthrough doing as little as possible while still getting the ending. Below is an image of how many cultists I dealt with. Lagos was not killed. It's interesting the amount of content that can be avoided. If I was to go through the game quickly, I would change a couple of things from what I did. Because of the my little to do playthrough, I ended with what is seen in the image below. Because of that, Deimos took a dirt nap. I had stepdad and stepbro at the house for a get together. I then went and killed all the cultist and for the first time killed Aspacia

It is however useful for swapping tactics and Rush Assassination is my favourite ability and having just changed from a warrior to an assasin again I am realising how much I missed it. What's really great is if you have the engraving that "Assassin Damage applies to nearby enemies" that is awesome for killing groups using RA and also Heroic Strike. I have now built a good hybrid Warrior (high resistances)/Assassin (High Crit), so I don't suck in melee and Assassinating one hit kills pretty much everything.

After dealing with all the cultisits, Kassandra went to visit real dad. I was disappointed that Kassandra didn't tell Pythagoras that Myrrine was killed by Deimos, the cult. And surprised she didn't mention she saw Pythagoras in the vision when touching the pyriamid. For those who want to have some fun. A few times I would get to a fort, I would have Ikaros fly around marking all the soldiers and items. Once done, I would fire an arrow at the Brazier lighting it. It's fun seeing the soldiers scrambling about trying to figure out why it was lit. It's also a good time to attack since they can't call reinforcements during that time. Another fun thing is I fire an arrow at a soldier who catches on fire. Another soldier would come to his aid only for my arrow lighting him up, and so on. I defeated everyone in the fort without having to move from my spot. I will start another playthrough shortly. Maybe I'll have Kassandra swim from Kephallonia to Megaris.

I like getting a high vantage point (like below) and shooting explosive arrows into forts and watch them run around, also shooting open the cages of any animals at the same time is fun.!!!! It's pretty amazing how some of the troops will actually run all the way up to find you.

So started a new PT as Kass until I can buy a new game and am just going to play how I want to and not necessarily follow the story. Had a great time when I arrived in Megaris yesterday, I remember my first PT and how cautious I was and how I got spotted and piled on by Athenian Troops and Spartan Troops and Mercenaries. Yesterday I killed every Spartan, Athenian and a stupid civilian after getting caught/not caught looting to the point the only soldier in the whole area where you arrive was the commander who gives you the quest to catch the spy. I think I got hit once. Then killed everyone in the fort and multiple bandits, war supplies etc. to close those quests. Next to see Stentor's scout and do the silly food thieving quest and to kill the leader. Trying to use some different armours for Kass this PT, not a great light to see it in: Kass posing to show off her armour, the looks from the two citizens behind are pretty funny. No soldiers anywhere, wonder why Good luck with the fishing in that dribble of a stream: Met up with this guy and got the shroud for him Rescued Odessa, didn't choose the romance options and won't recruit her this time. Discovered Element Zero if after you recruit Tecton (SP?) if you don't hire him you (pay the Drachmae) can dismiss him at that point. And he then doesn't end up stuck in a Lieutenant inventory slot Gave the goat a present, The Cyclops wasn't impressed.

I wouldn't mind skipping that whole part TBH!!! I am NG++++ I am trying to add as much ability points as possible to activate every Ability and every resistance I really want!!! I am so not a fan of the Arena, have never finished the whole story where I think you end up fighting Skoura.

So yesterday was a bit of a blur but cleared pretty much everything in Megaris, did Odessa's quests and accused her of being the problem and didn't recruit her. Then spent time running the wall there killing and head shot Athenian Archers but had to move on to a camp not far away where I hid in a bush and head shot all 15 of the soldiers there. This attracted several mercenaries who all died not knowing what had happened. I did kind of feel bad killing all these soldiers in this camp with head shots, grizzly way to go. Kass telling how it is to Odessa Looking forward to fighting this Mercenary:

If Arrows count as projectiles (it's just weird that they use that term if arrows are the only 'projectile' available...or is that just me?) then it should be doable. I've currently got 8 ability points waiting to be assigned for when the spear reaches level 5. I could just burn some of them on Hunter abilities to make that part easier. I don't often to the Weeklys, though - this last couple of weeks is one of the first and the first time I set out to do them intentionally.
