Can't assassinate? Really? I'm curious now as to how they went about assassinating somebody. There's nothing wrong with the bow. About the ships. I'm seeing some that aren't pirates, spartans or athenians. Do they belong to other mercenaries? I've a couple that appeared and started attacking me on sight which left me puzzled. If they shoot on me, I shoot back, they didn't get to sail away. Mercenaries will pursue bounties at sea. You'll be able to identify them by the distinctive red helmet icon. There are also a handful of Alpha ships spread across the Aegean. Defeating them earns a legendary ship item. It can be a new appearance, a figurehead or both. Ikaros can be used to identify ships by name and type. Oh these ships have no red helmets, just an unidentifiable sail and name (I think). I always kill the bounty NPC the moment it pops up and it's always some idiotic AI nonsense. Like when I was fighting against Athenian soldiers who set a trap for Kass. This old lady walked by into the alley. No other civvies was there. Of course, instead of running away, she picked up a broom while I was busy dealing with the Athenian captain. I killed her, out of irritation of the stupid AI, got a bounty, killed the captain and proceeded to bounty NPC location and popped his head off with an arrow. I also quit interfering when wild boars and other critters attacked civvies. More often than not, they come after me for no reason. I didn't even hit them, just the animals. How to hit innocents when I'm using a bow? I just stand around and wait to collect the loot. I spotted a yellow ship with a yellow sail with an image of a rooster on it while diving for a shipwreck. I guess that one's up for grabs.

I guess that one's up for grabs. Yeah, the Alpha ships all have unique sails and colors that make them stand out from the rest. As long as they don’t approach while I’m distracted by an ongoing battle, I usually see them from pretty far away. They’re the source of many cool cosmetic features. Civilians are a PITA, but I kind of like it. At the very least, I like that looting claimed property is now stealing. I do the same thing in ignoring civvies in trouble. No good deed goes unpunished in that regard. I flee atop a building or the like if I piss them off by stealing. If they attack me while I’m fighting a real opponent, I don’t care what happens to them. I’ll cut down a village of idiots if they keep interfering. All in all, it feels pretty true to the misthios/mercenary lifestyle. I RPed Aleksios as a pretty decent dude in many ways. He was pleasant and helpful to most, and didn’t always require payment. I’d call him a good guy if I hadn’t murdered so many NPCs for money, usually over minor issues like a disagreement with the paying client. Once a farmer tries to backstab me while fighting a real warrior, he’s made himself an enemy combatant. It doesn’t feel out of character to now then down.

She might be, but I doubt it. I have a hard time playing bad guys in non-Star Wars games. I may make her a little less compassionate and more mercenary in her dealings. I’ve already dabbled in that on Kephallonia, but we’ll see how it goes. Both voice actors are so good. Aleksios was amazing, and I already immediately love Kassandra. Aleksios feels vaguely more sarcastic and wry to me, while Kassandra feels vaguely more biting or snarky. That’s hard to say, though, since Aleksios is very animated. I guess Kass sounds more emotional, at times? The lines are the same, and the delivery and accompanying animations are excellent for each.
I’m also thinking about favoring a female crew. My favorite is the Poseidon-themed crew that I got from the Oikos. Those dudes are pretty cool. Still, I at least like the idea of Kassandra sailing with a group of badass female crew. I tend to prefer the male singers, though the women are a nice change of pace at times. Again, I guess we’ll see how it goes.
Someone posted this video previously, but I feel like it’s worth reposting. The first minute of intro is in Greek with subtitles, but the rest of the interview is in English. It’s a cool interview that gives insight into the actors, the dev priorities and other things. I really enjoyed it.

I just finished a funny quest 😊 "You killed his mater and fucked his pater!" Kassandra's reaction after hearing that all is hilarious. Stupideos delivers. You should know something is fishy if you eavesdrop on the female bandit in the cave 😀 Btw, I am guessing that anyone who finished the game with Alexios thinks of Kassandra as an evil, ruthless, murdering monster 😈 Can't wait for it myself.

Wow, does this even make sense? Did a quest to help rebels, followed NPC to Spartan camp where they were attacked by Athenians. Guess what? Killing Athenians landed a bounty on Kass. WTF???? Kass died because I didn't notice the bounty and the island is so small. This bloody mercenary appeared out of nowhere and killed her. I reloaded. After the fight, I immediately ported and went to the camp to pop the idiot Athenian's head.

That's nothing, how about I free several prisoners that begged me for release, get noticed while lockpicking, kill the single alerted guard, get a bounty for murder and the freed prisoners all turn hostile and attack me. What, was this guard your best buddy? Why didn't you ask him to free you then?!!! Or was it too personal and I kill stealed him? Why report me for murder then? I swear there were several times when the only witness to my stealing was a bloody chicken. And I still got a bounty. Those chickens... I usually scare off civilians from witnessing my robberies, either by smashing the nearby walls with a sword or by pointing an arrow in their direction. But the chickens are fearless and never run away.

I was attacked by 4 chickens at the same time. They did some damage before they were dealt with. Its funny watching the civilians pickup weapons to attack me. Some of them handle those weapons better than the soldiers.

what Blacksmith? And clue for what cultist? We're assuming Obsidian Gryphon was referring to an encounter in the Athens market in which the player is alerted to the presence of a nearby Cultist clue. The clue is an item for sale by the blacksmith. I only knew to check there because of loading screen tips. PS4 Pro has a ton of loading screens, so I get all of the tips. 😒 It's in the Korinth market.

Finished the rebel island quest. Kass left without saying goodbye to Kyra. Honestly, I wanted to KO her former lover, I did it too, but the quest insisted that he must be killed. I already knew what she would say so I chose not to talk to her in the second attempt. Finally got the spear up to 5th level. Oh my, full power is really something.

This guy was also on the opposite side of the square. Korinth is such a beautiful place.

Then I met her, and she revealed that she’s been in a relationship with him for a while. “I wish I’d met you first,” though. “I thought I was into him into I met you.” Well, that’s shitty of you to say. No thanks. In the end, it seemed to work out well by keeping Aleksios out of their affairs.

I guess it’s fine I indulge in the “WDYDT?” part of this thread. I’ll share Kassandra’s journey from hovel-dwelling scrub to demigod.
Markos’ foolishness got the better of him, putting him badly in debt with the Cyclops, a regional thug. Ultimately, Kassandra solved the issue when she killed the Cyclops and his ruffians. (In the process of confronting Cyclops, Kassandra shoved his prized obsidian eye up an ibex’s ass. She later recovered the stink eye, and sold it for a tidy sum.) In destroying the Cyclops’ operation, she found a somewhat shabby ship and crew. This was perfect, since she’s agreed to a contract killing for Elpenor, a wealthy visitor who likely sheds his skin and eats babies.
Elpenor’s drachmae are good, though, as his job interview proved. He’d asked Kassandra to recover the Shroud of Penelope, wife of Odysseus. He claimed it was his property, stolen by bandits. Riiight. Then why is Kassandra scouting ruins for it. In the end, Kass came out of it with the shroud, some coin and a job that provided a way off of Kephallonia. As she set sail with Barnabas and his crew aboard Adrestia, she learned that her target— the Wolf of Sparta— is her father Nikolaos. Her feelings about this job had just become much more complex.
Kass learned how to handle Adrestia and her crew along the way, picking up crew, sinking pirates, warships and merchants alike, and ultimately breaking an Athenian blockade of Megaris. She saw Nikolaos, but was intercepted by his lieutenant, Stentor, who has apparently been adopted as son of Nikolaos. A meeting with Nikolaos, as well as more coin, are the promised payment fir aiding Sparta in Megaris. To work, then.

This game just keeps on giving. I've finished the 3 main stories and was just playing around. First I found a pretty fun quest in the battle of a hundred hands. Then I decided to visit a small island I've never been to before. I find a quest marker inside a fort. I sneak in, find a person in a cage and who is it? Bloody Marcos!!! Haven't seen him in ages. Stuff like that makes me want to keep on playing.

*trying to not read the spoilers for later in the game* Yes, well, so I caved and bought this game a week ago. I didn't like the first Assassins Creed game that much, but haven't played any of the others yet. But the fact that this game has romances and the choice of a female protagonist made me want to try it. And I like it quite a lot. I am currently in Phokis, at level 16, after 21 hours playing the game. I have used a lot of time, because I try to do everything in each area before I move on. We'll see how long I keep that up, lol. I have had a break the last days but hopefully I will get to continue tomorrow. I actually even like most of the sidequests. Except for the ones where you're supposed to protect an idiot npc. I learned the trick about how to do it eventually, but it was very annoying for a while. Also the ones that's just "deliver this to that guy" or "kill the wolves at that place" are a bit boring. But I like the fort and leader house objectives, mercenaries etc. Playing assassin is something I've always liked - assassin-type classes are my favorites in most RPGs. The main story is compelling so far. I find the music a bit repetitive, there could have been more variation I think. But maybe they change it up later in the game? I'm thinking about the music that plays when you're exploring. (ambient music? is that the right word?) The ship battles, boarding, and of course the sea shanties are amazing. I've also heard you can get an all-women crew and that they have their own unique shanties. That sounds amazing. About romances - I've only had the chance to romance Odessa yet, and I messed that one up royally, so nothing happened there, lol. I actually like that you can fail and that it's a bit difficult. It makes it feel much more natural. I've also met a woman in a temple of Artemis (?) - seems like there is a romance there if I do her quests. But I see that will take a while since some of the quests are level 36 or something. I also just met an elder woman who wanted me to bring her ingredients to a potion. So we'll see how that goes. I intend to try out all the romances if I can. I haven't yet met anyone I really feel strongly for though. But there is still a LOT I haven't met, as I have understood it. And also - Kassandra is incredibly beautiful in a way that I really like, and has a great voice actor. I love her. I look forward to continue with this game.

I wasn't sure of the outcome since I caught the vibe between the two) after one positive approach towards Kyra. I reloaded and replayed the whole rebellion sequence. Got the better ending. I'm not really looking forward to the arena chain and my mind is boggled after I checked the upgrade spear quest. 22? I also tried for the real minotaur quest at level 39. I almost got him on the third attempt but because I was stuck at the rocks in the much reduced battleground, the beast got Kass. I tried five times and decided I'll leave him for later and worked to get the spear up to five. Presently at level 41.

Exploring around with Kass and just landed on an island where the the single question mark required me to kill the Alpha animal. Which turned out to be a chicken! Found some more tombs too. How many are there anyway? I run out of skills to put points in. Not to mention I got only 8+4 slots which is not enough and have to swap skills around if I want to use them.
Kassandra embraces the nepotism. All my lieutenants are family members. A family that raids ships together stays together! They kick ass too. And each has a little dialogue after you assign them. But gotta say, some things you cannot unsee. I know crew animations are random, but it's so brutal to see Deimos scratch his butt right in front of you and then sniff his hand. Kinda so in character too. I felt that Kass has to yell "Mom, he is doing it again!".

Kass hit 43. The level cap is 50, right? Does the xp stop once 50 is reached? It is, and I can’t understand why. I understand limiting character power for balance, but that’s easy. Stop giving us HP and Damage bonuses after 50, as it was with Origins at 40 (and later 55). With it being such a very long game, and with so much of the best gear only appearing late in the game, it would’ve been cool to be able to learn all of the skills. XP is also a nice carrot to chase after 50. I earned hundreds of thousands of XP that priced worthless, since I hit 50 by halfway through the story. ”Ghost levels”, as with HZD, would’ve been nice. Origins did something similar. For each, I had XP or Skill Points banked that paid off immediately when the DLC hit. You can still get skill points in Odyssey at 50 by finding those precursor tablets inside tombs.

Kass hit 43. The level cap is 50, right? Does the xp stop once 50 is reached? Sadly, yes. It isn't Origins where you can still power up your character. Darn. Thanks for the info. Ok, the skills I like best are nearly all maxed so I guess it'll be fine. After this PT, I'd like to do a NG+ but I guess I have to wait. I'm getting right down very suspicious of that hedonistic playboy, most of his jobs are turning out bad. I should have told that Spartan soldier that he was the one who sent that stupid thing in the box.
