So the conquest battle ended up being a lot of fun. I was kind of forced onto the outskirts of it for awhile and had to work my way back in but tat did give me good opportunities to try that explosive arrow spread.
But yeah...its just amazing how far video games have come throughout my life and my gaming career. Just the level of photo realism and just how well the graphics and animation of come to aping human expression and emotion. Sure I know its not always perfect...but again the scene where you pick to kill Nickalousis...well maybe one of the best scenees in this game. Certainly top 5...ugh but then there are so many good ones! But just the directing, the voice acting, the pitch perfect writing. Just amazing and I love it that even though you click the option Kass goes all rage mode on him, spewing threats at him and just almost to the brink of killing him but then despite you, the player, (or at least me) clicking it for a second she turns away and it looks like they might reconcile...but then he presses the button and then WHA BAM....and then see finds out the truth. Just such a well done amazing scene...and then Stentor gets kicked off a mountain. (No body no proof I guess?)
Other than that pretty much making a beeline to go meet the Cult. I once more am going to get poor Pythia tortured to death *sigh*.

The Pythia thing I think sometimes glitches, anyway she doesn't die as don't you see her again later and she just comments on what a horrible experience it was? I think you find that out by doing one of those "crossroads" quests with the diverging arrows.

Even my clumsy Alexios somehow managed to sneak in unseen. *face smack* I entirely forgot about that. But then again part of my reticence was my last playthrough I think I snuck all the way through only to have a bunch of guards just waiting for me on the other end anyways as I got through. Its also a good thing that I took video of the Nikalous death scene because apparently I was right that I did not have it. But to my chagrin I apparently do not have video of Kass sticking the Cylops eye up the goat's...behind eye. So I continued off hunting down Elpenor at all of his locations. First up the little Fort that his fake was hiding at. The good news Kass's descent into pacisfism is kind of well on its way as I didn't kill everyone at the fort and it was kind of cool too given how much trouble that has given me in the past. It was concerning, however, that for some reason it seems my base assassin attack is not killing people unless it crits, by and large...and one time it did not crit but I finished him off with a Hero Strike. Followed Elpenor to the Temple of Snakes and well, they suffered my wrath. Cleared them out quite easily and just owned Elpenor to the ninth degree of Sparta. Then who needs Sparta Kick? With the bow of...what's its face...with the knock back...and well I shot the final Cultist Guard/ Commander off the cliff with a devastating shot from the other end of the temple. Did the quest with the old lady wanting to reinvigorate her love life...and I do like it that they made sure there was a little bit of humor no matter what you do. And I infiltrated the Cultist meeting and I do find it a fun game to play trying to guess which Cultists are who that you run into later. I do not think I am good at it. But I am like 99% sure you run into the crazy witch who raised Alexios/ Deimos which was a bit of a nasty shock.

So last night was a comedy of errors. Thoug I did prove that my going (mostly) pacifist with my staff is a viable, if grindy and frustrating, strategy.
So starting off by doing Photios's pre tirement quest which took you to a for. Up first I decided to go after an isolated Captain and instead of doing a normal assassination...a kick was required. But I did panick for a moment because he survived his first bounce off the rock, but it was a big sigh of relief when he bounced right off down that mountain and onto the second one as well, and that killed him. Then on the way to the next Captain I was sneaking up on tem all pleased as you can be very confident...and somehow Kass got lit on fire and her girlish screams alerted the bad guy. But at least I got to try out my staff and was able to knock the guy out...and then put a deadly arrow into him because he was a Captain but that alerted a few more of the group which I had to fight my way through. And then later on virtually the rest of the fort got alerted so a few arrows and windmilling my way through the bad guys with overpowered attack plus lots of epic slow motion strikes and well I did clear them out and got what I needed.
Then to the port in Megaris with the cultist. I killed her from long range with a death arrow and then went to town on the rest of the camp as much as possible. And just got a whole crap ton of them just cornering me, but then went through them like a lawnmower and some grass. But well the two things about this style...I mean it is far more easier to just kill them because they can't be revivved. I was working on them and thought I cleared it out like three times but there was always someone there who started reviving his compatriots and the process would start over. Secondly I go through the padded arrows just supppperr quickly.
Fined up by starting on Odessa's little quest line with er father.

I beat it. I think. Never saw any credits roll but Kassandra handed the staff to derpy Layla and committed seppuku. Not how I wanted to see her go. Seemed trivial after such an epic life. I have some practical questions, like where did she get the suit? Was she able to travel the world with the staff or was she stuck in that cave for 2000 years? Is this even the ending of the game or do I have to complete the DLC to see a definitive ending? I suppose I'll find out why Kassandra is considered canon after I play the expansions.
Took me 190 hrs on insane and exploration mode, and there's still a ton of checkmarks on my map. I don't know how I spent so much time with this game. My Witcher 3 runs were shorter than this. I think it's substantially better than Origins and the best one I've played so far. Story and characters were pretty solid and it had more gameplay systems and more reactive quests, so it felt far less one-dimensional than past games. Ubi still has a long way to go in writing seamless conversations for branching dialog and implementing choice and consequence. The absence of a journal where characters and quests could be summarized was a big misstep. I lost track of what the hell was going on because halfway through I treated it like a TES game and just went into roaming/exploration mode. It actually functions well that way and the gameplay loop of stealthing, combat, ship battles, finding Ostraka, killing cultists and mercs was super addictive.
Aside from the writing and quest design, I have two other complaints: the fetch quests need to go. They undermined any seriousness or character building for Kassandra. It felt out place that she'd do such menial tasks and was made worse by perfunctory, disconnected dialog. If Ubi wants this series to be a kind of live-service experience where you come back to it just to grind and level up, they need to implement this content in a more coherent fashion. My other gripe is the level scaling. On nightmare, the only way to stay ahead of the difficulty curve was to constantly level up your gear almost every time you level up, or you're in for the same two-hit and death bullshit at level 50 that you experienced at level ten. And enemies are massive damage sponges. You feel like you never get ahead. Pretty pleased overall though and I'm not sure I'll be able to finish all the DLC before Valhalla arrives.

Is this even the ending of the game or do I have to complete the DLC to see a definitive ending? The staff is shapeshifting. If you take a closer look as suit Kass appears, you will notice the staff is initially like an apple in her palm before shifting. In the book Kass can be separated from the staff for 3 days before being in danger of dying. So yeah, Kass has traveled the world for nearly 2500 years. The DLCs give an extra personal family story for Kass (controversial for giving you no choice in the matter) and another story full with Isu lore and bridging the Layla arc with Valhalla.

My own personal taste on the matter is; I have the opportunity to dress a Greek Demi-goddess like Wonder Woman. The world does not exist where I don’t take advantage of that opportunity I may end up swapping the actual set out for better/different stats, but I’ll keep the look, because I love it.

So I may be in an interesting spot with my staff fu. I think it may get to the point where it encourages me to *not* be stealthy if I don't have to alert anyone So I was doing the 'True Story' and well Megaris's leader bar was full so of course he had his guards with him which made stealth more risky anyways. It didn't last long though as they saw me. Not that I minded though because I recruited the guy onto my boat (weirdly enough one of the only things that does not carry over from PT to PT)...and well despite all that effort he was still only a blue. . Still it made it an interesting conversation when I went back to Odessa and reported in and we were talking about the leader being a problem, or how he won't be anymore...you right Kass...you just kidnapped him and put him on yo boat. The trip to Andros is always one of the most fascinating sequences in the game because it is so rinse, wash, repeat time after time PT after PT. I have the tendency to go and get quests and visit them as soon as I see them to collect them...don't play them until I want to but always stop to go get them, and well on the way to Andros every time is the Quest with the oedipus complex, and the one with Agapios....which are two great quests to begin with.

So... its a weird phenomenon with this game as I play it...maybe even especially when I get to Pephka especially ...that as I play it I get more hyped for Dragon Age 4 than anything else. Even with Vaalla just around the corner getting more hyped about DA 4. (Though watching Vahalla vids is getting me hyped enough for that in the first place.) Also the Athens section is always a reminder of how much Democracy sucks. Which is nice. Anyways though I don't know why but I have been a bit worried about me bull rising the game...suppose it has something to do with the possibility of me feeling tempted to bullrush the game for the end of November. . I mean for the first few days of this game I have virtually been doing nothing but the story missions. But then this game is just so huge that it does not really *open up* where you have a logical reason to start exploring and doing side quests (in my mind) until quite a good deal of GP. Which I have pretty much officially reached. Which I guess the only thing worth mentioning from this little marathon other then things I am sure I have mentioned before is that I think for the first time I triggered the singing game between Euripidies, Aristophanes, and Kassandra. Can you say 'insipration for Flyting'? Which was actually kind of awkward though, Kass's singing left a...little to be desired. Now that my path is open and I can go wherever I went my first stop was Pephka. I began of course by running around the Minotaur area collecting all the quests though I passed up the kid's tour...at first. On the way to one of the synchronization points I ran into a merc on a horse...so he was getting away from me...I predator shot him...and it hit the horse...which I found amusing enough to tell my wife about. I did like it, and I did forget, I had all the arena things unlocked...or were they always unlocked...but I was able to kill Belos which is the only arena fighting I would think of doing for this PT. Then off to the Minotour. I tried to leave the guys who tried to get me alive with my blunt staff but since the objective mentioned 'kill' I had little choice in the matter.

So knocked over the Weekly from last week didn't take too long to kill all the bandits by assassination, Sword and Spear and then took down the Ship. Had the legendary items that were for sale so just banked the Ori. That was unfortunatelly all I could do except for the first part of Eppi's quest as my pinched nerve started yelling at me to stop. Before we begin I do have a query. Every once in a while I come across a comedy video on Youtube involving the trojan horse. Also while looking through AC Od on TV Tropes (spent way too much time on the TV tropes ) but I did notice that they mentioned a quest where the Eagle Bearer enjoys some...like psychedelic mushrooms and stuff and hallucinates, in typical Ubisoft fashion...but where is this I have never gotten it before?! Continuing on with Pephka and I pretty much did...all the Pephka things actually. Did the Pre trials, talked with the Minotaur, and then got all the stuff for the guy who wanted to jump. Once more going around leader houses with a fully fortified leader is a bit of a trip. Though I am getting a kick out of the the role play I am developing where Kass is kidnapping Greek politicians and making them serve her on the ship. The fort went a lot better as I actually got through it without too much major fuss. Though as an aside before I forget seems they have taken away the ability for me to ambush mercs. The highlight of the pre trials was I was thinking of seeing if I couldn't sparta kick the trial giver into the shark infested pool, even saved in anything, but after giving you the quest...well I tink the game was on to me since she very quickly picked up sticks and fled in the opposite direction. I also swear that Zakros is cursed for me. No matter what I do it always ends up in a major death defying struggle. And this was no exception. I was spotted early on and the bandit archers kept me occupied and forced me to flee, I backed into a whole crowd of them which nearly drained my health entirely forcing me to do the whole benny hill run away and peg them as I could so I could get my adrenaline up, heal, before killing them...and it worked. Though this has to be one of the poorest written quests in the game, yes it was highly enjoyable but there is a lot that does not make sense. Leindros says they have been doing this for *years* which given a few things...just does not make sense to me...also mentions that he has sent *thousands* of warriors to their deaths. I mean I am a video game mistios so i know you can kill a lot of people off, but that seems a little excessive.

Are you asking where and what the trojan horse quest is? www.powerpyx.com/assassins-creed-odyssey-sacred-favors-side-quest-walkthrough/I have never come across a quest re magic mushrooms and hallucinations either, the only one involving mushrooms I can think of is the one with the witch and the woman she causes her hair to fall out. I don't remember a chance to eat the mushrooms. Which quest is Zakros in?

Which quest is Zakros in? my details might be a bit scrambled. . Thanks for the answer though. And Zakros is the bandit encampment in Pephka where they were keeping Leaindros's daughter. Neat little base with the underground area cave.

I love EB’s response to the Trojan Horse quest if you don’t join in the celebration. “I didn’t drink anything last night, so why am I seeing a giant horse?”

Either I got really mixed up on something or they made an error...I just hope I remember this convo when I can shuffle over to Lakonia.

I like Eppie and it is my current flagged quest but his quest sucks with all the back and forth. The thing I hate about the quest the most is his irrational response to the end when he cant see the writings and I hate lying to him instead.

That camp is the one I use for the Weekly kill bandits quest like last weeks as it has about 15 bandits in it.

His enthusiasm is infectious, but I just know how annoyingly it all ends.
