I’m making this thread because I haven’t seen any videos or other threads about it. It’s about the AI that you encounter on Vield. You have three options.m: kill it, give it to the Angarans, or give it to SAM as a weird romance friendship. In my first play through I killed it. You know... morals. In my second one, I give it to SAM to see what would happen. A node gets placed next to SAM and you learn that it has emotions. But let’s dig into this a bit.
My biggest question is where did she come from!?
1. The Angarans The AI kills the Angara and screams “They are not my creator!” She adds that she predates the Angara. One interpretation could be that an ancient generation created her and she means that the current Angara did not literally create her. However, the Angara are an extremely young race compared to any of them in the Milky Way. No where do we see them with the capability to create an AI that complex. She is superior to even SAM as he says that she is dangerous and he can not decipher her encryptions. Her physical size is massive. It’s a cave about as large as a soccer field that goes deep into the ice farther than the eye can see. (About 20 feet into the ice) another reason I don’t think she is Angaran is because they value their history and even those weird cult Angarans who’s sole purpose is to record history, never mention her.
2. The Jaardan/Remnant She resembles nothing of Remnant technology. Not one similarity. However, it is possible that the Jaardan created her before the Remnant. The Jaardan lived in the Heleous cluster in previous ages. Now they are advanced and trancendent. Maybe the AI is a relic of the Jaardans past before they left the cluster.
3. A different species all together. This is unlikely, there’s no evidence of it, but I suppose it’s possible.
What do you guys think?!

I was thinking about that AI the other day and was disappointed it ended up being an office decoration. I expected a big story, so many cool things could have come from that.
No idea where it came from but I'm interested in people's opinions.

Ive revisited the cave and there was nothing there. I doubt there will be anything different post Meridian

I just hope they actually do something! I think it’s fair to say that if they were going to do a dlc, it would be done by now. I know everyone said they weren’t making any, but I still had hope.

I'm confused why she was willing to literally kill and die to prevent us from taking her out of that chamber. Like... she realizes if we leave her alone the Kett will come for her, right? We don't have the Angarapower to hold that location, and I fail to see what's so special about it that she would rather die than leave. I mean... we could just move her to the resistance base and leave her be, if that's what she wants. Maybe her solitude made her unstable, I don't know. She's not reacting rationally.

Well, the Angarans nor the Jardaan are indigenous to Helius, so unless the Jardaan created the cluster from scratch there could have been an indigenous race there prior to the Angarans. Maybe that AI knows the history, or where they went. Were they wiped out to make room for the Angarans?

I still feel a more compounding theory is that your 1-3 thoughts are all correct... and the same. Except the part where the Angara and the Jardaan are seperate species...

I didn't do the AI mission until I had already done Meridian, it played out as normal apart from the AI wasn't on the Hyperion.

i would say more than likely its either really ancient angara or an unknown species that was there long before the remnant showed up

Yes 'ancient' post-Remnant Angaran are centuries old, with 'natural' disasters leading to the civilization that is decades old, and the Kett leading to the rebellious society that is years old.
There's a lot of texture there, I just wish it was depicted more compellingly.
But yeah the Angara are less than a millenium, they're very young, an orphan species really, but they also appear like they have a great destiny.

i would say more than likely its either really ancient angara or an unknown species that was there long before the remnant showed up Yeah I think it could be an ancient Angarran AI because Jaal did say that even before the Scourge his people did have spaceflight that's why you find that crashed ship on Havarl as the Scourge disrupted everything and they kind of had to start again. Not to mention SAM was able to detect that she was lying as he told you/Ryder as such. I only really remember this as I did this very mission earlier today on my current playthrough. Avela even asid a lot of their history was lost because of the Scourge hey recovered only to now be blasted at by Kett
