My teenager heart just MELTED. Gosh, I adored this game so much. I know most fans say it was the weakest game in the series but it was my first. And we all know our first love is special.

I almost cried at the end of FFX, I was gutted. Another of my favorite pieces of videogame music. Nowadays these cheesy teenage romances make me cringe so hard. FFXIII's childish romance made me want to vomit. That's when I quit the series. Too old for that shit.

But man, FF8's intro still gives me goosebumps...

Oh wait, while we're at it, maybe my favorite single Final Fantasy moment and one of the most hauntingly beautiful moments in gaming history:

I first wanted to pick Liara's time capsule or shooting contest with Garrus but then I realized those aren't technically cutscenes, haha. Not the cinematic CGI ones anyway.

I think Portal 2's finale is still right up there...

And while this more of an end-credits, Portal 1's is worth a watch.

I've always been fond of this scene in the original Red Alert that plays after completing the first Soviet mission where you have to destroy a Polish insurgent held village.

Much more effective and simple at what it does than ME3 with vent brat in it's beginning.

Utterly over the top, hammy-acted, ridiculous... but oh, oh so enjoyable and fun to watch. Just like a cult B Movie made on a shoestring budget, but now regarded as a post-ironic classic by fans.

Too right. I've a bunch of giggles with the Soviet fmvs.

They are the most fun to watch; murdering one another in the campaign. In the end, only one won and we all know who that was.

Out of the hat, at random; Wing Commander III, A bunch of familiar faces in the fmv.

Runner up: Splinter Cell Blacklist. Late in the game you're playing as Sam Fishers partner. The bad guys lead their hostages out of the bunker to move them. The camera pulls in slowly on one of the hostages, revealing none other than Sam Fisher. Best part of the whole game.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but hollow points expand on impact.

I definitely approve of @quizolio 's Battle of the Citadel scene from ME, at the time, I had never seen anything like it in a video game, it was glorious.

Other cool stuff: Diablo Cutscenes were epic ever since the Dib2 Intro:

The ending cutscene of The Witcher 1 was pretty amazing as well:

This one, which only plays once, when you start C&C Tiberium Sun for the very forst time was absolutely awesome as well because it immediatly takes you back into the universe:

These days, with all the great graphics, most stuff is done in game of course but I am really looking forward to Squadron 42. Judging by the recent trailer, it looks like we'll be in fro some awesome cutscenes, Wing Commander Style:

EDIT: Oh, almost forgot, one of the very forst games with cutscenes, that I owned still remains one of my favorites to this day. It may look old now but back in 1994, this was fantastic (and so true to the source material). Here is the intro movie:

This is just one of the few I find amazing and springs instantly into my mind. I have different ones depending on what they are used for. The ending of a story, the particular quote used, the revelation of solving the truth of a huge mystery, the sheer force of a scene (power or emotion), etc.
