I'm a sucker for Sibling relationships. Its a thing. Probably stems from my lifelong desire for the protective caring sister figure i never had. But when it comes to two siblings growing a bond between them as they live their lives together, becoming close friends, confidants etc, the shit hits hard man. Playing through it became clear the Ryder twins were close. A mutual familial love stronger than most typical siblings in the world, no doubt strengthening after "losing" their mother. Loss can make you care more for what you still have. And the emotions portrayed by my MaleRyder through the course of SisRyder's coma and eventual awakening was prevalant enough to give some credence. That said i can easily see the twins getting super awkward at the mere idea of them being together, its just a typical response. But a relationship doesnt happen immediately and the groundwork between has already been laid over two decades of being siblings. Experiencing the perils of Andromeda together, standing at each others side through the constant thick and very little thin, their parents are gone, they're as far from a home as you can get, it wouldnt be hard for the barriers to erode. All they have left is a hope for tomorrow, and one another. Have i upset your lunch yet? I can only imagine the crew reactions if the truth got out. Cora would be appalled, Peebee uncomfortable, god forbid Suvi found out. Jaal might be okay with it, given his culture's importance on love for family and emotional expression. I want to say Vetra would be indifferent due to her down to Earth, laid back attitude, so long as it didnt affect the mission.

Being completely rational here coupling them would've been the dumbest thing for the initiative, struggling to survive as it is and suddenly starting the rekindling of a species of an Ark with inbred children... I mean, wait out your illegal fantasies, jeez!

I could see them working together, but as a couple never. There is no indication in the game of that sort of interest between them. If it never developed in all the years they grew up together, it's unlikely that simply moving to another galaxy and losing a parent would cause that sort of attraction to develop. In my experience, loss of parents tends to cause siblings to drift farther apart as they focus on pursuing and developing their interests within their own nuclear families and since things like the families getting together at the parents' home for family celebrations (like the birthdays of the parents) no longer happen.
Within the context of the story of the game, it would serve no purpose... even if it turned out that they were, say, both adopted and not actually related. This isn't some afternoon TV soap. Even having the companions react to the "pairing" would serve no purpose and I, for one, would find it completely irrelevant and uninteresting.

They have literally no chemistry with each other, especially not when compared to the Hawke siblings. 0/10 worst incest pairing ever

I mean yeah the Ryders kinda do though, at least a little. They banter, they show genuine care for the other's wellbeing. It may just seem like that cause one of em is in a coma for 80% of the game. Sad that you dont interact with the other twin more outside stating at them while theyre out cold.

Outside of this thread's cringe - I'd imagine a MEA2 would focus on the twin dynamic with mother included, over introducing Ryder and father included. The kids and how they were raised, over the adult following parental footsteps. More socializing, I mean. And maybe other revelations there.

I don’t want them even more set.

I don’t want them even more set. You already have the set family, this isn't an increase but a shift. I'm talking about RP choices on how you regard that set family, instead of how you regard the upper-to-lower relationship with dad. If anything that's more options, just keeping the family setup. But you can not want the setup at all, sure. I just don't think that'll flow well given the position in MEA. I wouldn't mind choices ranging from the family completely breaking up (with pros/cons) to becoming tighter than ever (with pros/cons). And then a third game sidelines that matter and it becomes backstory, if you're Ryder (which I'm not anticipating, so early so far, but who knows).

It is a tad amusing when familial relations is what's cringy, while inter-species intercourse is enjoyed. The former is close to home as something most understand as a managed relationship that isn't complicated by romantic or sexual developments. The latter is literally downright alien. To a further extent, we could write a romance with a block of goo. Few except the most deluded treat a Garrus or Tali relationship as a serious prospect outside of a silly fantasy that happens to possibly intrigue. And the particular thread cringe is at anyone at all expecting to be taken even slightly seriously when suggesting EA to put in an incest plot. Unless good troll.

Not just no but
And reason for that is not just because it is illegal, it corrupts the gene pool. There is a reason it is illegal. At least in the ME universe, with some aliens you can procreate and contribute healthy genetics to the species DNA. With relationships that are interspecies, there is still adoption and insemination alternatives. And no, incestuous couples do not and should not have the same alternatives. As Addison says, the last thing we need is an inbred monarchy.
