Do be honest i really dislike DAI Collectables but there is room for Improvements. I would prefer if DA 4 will pass on Collectables but that´s unlikely.
Maybe Bioware can take Inspiration from other Games. For example The Darkness 2.
DA 4 could also feature a crazy Researcher and we will see the artefacts in our Trophy Room.

The only "collectable" that should be in the game is codex entries, and only because other players get major boners for that shit. I couldn't care less.
Otherwise, every non-equipment item should have a clear narrative purpose in either a main or side quest. If they MUST have a quest that involves collecting hundreds of pieces of shit, they need to provide much better narrative justification than they did in Inquisition.

I don't mind collectibles in a game. But DA4 better do it better than DA:I. I felt like there were way too many small random collectables, like the bottles and gears. I also think the problem is calling something a collection in the first place. I don’t mind the existence of landmarks or regions, but I sure as hell don’t see it as something to “collect”.
The Mosaics and astrariums offered some optional lore and they made me curious about completing them. The shards were annoying as hell to collect, but I still like them as a collectable item. Also, you could actually use them for something (Though I wish they had made a bigger deal out of that side quest). They just need to rethink their location/numbers or redo the movement system to better accommodate for propper platforming mechanics.

I liked astrariums and the way the mosaics looked on the wall, but there were too many shards to collect for what you got out of collecting them all. I really could've done without the bottles and gears, but at least the gears had a purpose. The dragons were definitely the best of the collectibles.

I hope to see more Astrariums actually. Me too. They were a neat concept and a fun mind puzzle. Every time I did a playthrough I always completed them. The shards, I think I went through and collected them twice, but for what they got me, it really wasn't worth the work. I STILL don't understand why the bottles...they were a pain in the butt and they really didn't get you anything, at least the mosaics gave you a bit of backstory and looked nice when they were completed. They were something I'd decorate my walls with.
