High: God mode in a private lobby is nice for getting used to PC controls. My one button to rule them all is split, but now I can't sprint or dodge so I gotta look at that again Turning with the mouse is so much nicer than joysticks, just gotta get used to the keyboard part. Anyone have any recommendations for keybinds for medigel, etc. Getting a billion credits is cool too because I'm not doing that RNG shit again Low: Graphic card is poop. Game sputters even at low resolution. Thinking of just getting an upgrade for that, it should make an immediate difference. I'm not going to build a PC for a little while, but my PC is old so idk if a new GPU would be worth it and maybe I should just wait.

Turning with the mouse is so much nicer than joysticks, just gotta get used to the keyboard part.Inert - take notes, maybe you'll learn how to headshot next time But to stay on topic, you gotta find your own most comfortable key for the medi gel. I use C for example. Q, 2 and V are my powers and my mouse keys are for cobras and ops packs. Of course I'm asssuming you know about 30-60 fps difficulty difference? And what's with the controller mod for pc? It seems that it's still not working for you. High: Played some fun games with Sona and TNS. Got 20 headshots with the Locust with only a 25 kill medal. Low: Didn't get a single HS medal with the Phalanx. :/ High: Got disconnected on Wave 11 Plat right as Sona had a failed lab experiment with an abomb. Hilarious way to end the match. 1st bolded part - you had 25 weapon's kill medal, not general. Which is surprising coz me and TNS had 50 weapon's kill medal each. Not guud for Locust lover 2nd bolded part - well, you might consider using K+M combo, as DesiduousForest. Maybe that will help 3rd bolded part - the game decided to put me out of my misery. I was blown up 3 times in that game. I won't call names here, but he knows who he is! And that pizza was still hot dammit

It seems that it's still not working for you. I'm just going to tough it out with KB+M until it clicks because it is better than a controller. There's nothing wrong with my ability to use a keyboard so I'm going to learn the proper way, not make it a glorified Xbox. I know the difference between 60 and 30 fps, but with my current stock PC it feels like 10 fps (similar to when I'm in Goddess' control room on Xbox fps is around 10-20 I'd say). I just gotta upgrade my gpu to make the game playable. I'm guessing V for a power you use your thumb?

I'm guessing V for a power you use your thumb? Yes, that's correct. C is right next to V so it's very easy for me to reload cancel. Also I don't use Space, E is my omni fooking button, which of course, drives me nuts from time to time. It was the main reason why I failed my latest gold speedrun attempt. Low: Omni button decided to drop the pizza and stick to cover. Which allowed Brutes, Banshees and Ravagers to gang bang me. My run was wiped with 13:40 on the clock, on wave 10. It wouldn't be sub 15 run, but it would be still my personal best time.

Even though I do use a controller, I'd never recommend it for a standard setup.
My PC is my media center for my house and sits next to the TV in the living room. I play from the couch, where I can't get a reliable M+K/desktop style setup going. In this case I find the controller to be less of a hassle - even if my aim suffers for it.
I miss my old Heat.net days.

Any recommendations for old cards?

I split up my omnibutton, so shift is sprint, space is use and mouse 5 is dodge/go into cover. I use ops on Q and gels with E. Rest is standard.

Take your time, I got all day. Budget is < $100 How old is your computer? Does it have a PCIE slot or an AGP? First, welcome DistigousForest to the Master Race! And, as docsteely pointed out, it would better to know your pc specs before buying something (you can buy used parts if budget is low). Also because, if your CPU is too old, you will be bottlenecked and not able to maintain a steady 60fps, no matter how powerful the gpu is.

I would like to add at this point that I was running ME3 max settings at 1080p on a GTX 750 Ti (That's sitting in a box in case this 1050 gives up the ghost), card was a very low intensity (Actual usage 35w), bus-powered card, made for Small Form Factor PCs.
What Docsteely said is very important, however, if it will take a modern card, I'd recomment the 750Ti for a budget option (A new 4GB 1050 Ti cost me €180 though, so maybe you can find a cheaper option without SFF requirement), it's a surprisingly capable card.

Some good GPU choices mentioned here already which you should be able to find in the 100 USD range. I'll just add that the game runs fine in 1080p with 2Gb of VRAM
