Aw man, I love all Volus matches! (((I thought you didn't like Volus?))) I'm not a huge fan, but I'll dust them off every now and then. Seems someone needs more Saber VolSent, Hurricane VolEngie, PPR VolDept, and BatGlove VolGuard in their life.

Just make sure you try a Nut Puncher build sometime. NutPunching Geth Primes is hilarious. On-topic: Actually used said NutPUncher today, went Brofisting all the things with Wife playing BatGuard. That counts as a high, the idiot PUGs count as a low.

High: Er... none? I topscored my first match since a month straight of ME:A.
Low: I topscored my first match back! What the hell - you'd figure a month's worth of rust would allow the PUGS a chance to get slightly better.

3013 Hours played I should have recorded it, but I killed someone yesterday with a Possessed Abomination. I'll never get bored of doing that - even though it is wrong. It is never wrong. See me pretending to save Alfonsedode from a sync kill, only to kill him and SenorTomate with an Abomb:

^^ and another High: I got invited by SenorTomate for some games with him and his brother SenorCucumber. We teamed up with HamleticTortoise , Alfonsedode and Sonashii in various combinations. All games took place on Glacier and where mostly filled with massive biotic booms. If you have 15 minutes, here is one of the games:

I will fight tooth and nail with anyone who dares to challenge my sacred right to burn my teammates in the reactor or kill them (or more often commit suicide) by A-Bomb. High: Yesterday was an excellent day of defending the Milky Way featuring: Sonashii, muahmuah, Alfonsedode, Terminator Force, inert and some non BSN-ers including Lonnegan and SenorTomate - to all a big thank you for the games! High: Image of an all-turian game with Sona and Sinful on Noveria in which we proved the difference between a disciplined force and a shady organization like Derperus: ![](http://i.imgur.com/HhzeHND.jpg) Low: What's that?

All games took place on Glacier and where mostly filled with massive biotic booms. If you have 15 minutes, here is one of the games: [snip] That was an awesome game! I had trouble keeping my rage up from the very beginning, and I mean it in the best possible way ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/KGsHESiZGZU0pPuHuhQr.png) such throughout destruction! I had mixed feelings when we drew Cerberus, on the one hand, Venom galore, on the other hand, non-dodge kit. All went well though, as it did in all other games! Truly a blast (hundreds actually)! And since we are here... lowest of the low: a few days ago Origin updated (beta version), and the patch notes mentioned wanting to improve the visibility of invites and the social aspect of using the platform. Well, they certainly succeded at that: receiving an invite now means your keyboard won't respond to your commands until you either accept or reject said invite. Not enough social awareness for you? If I have in-game enabled, I lose control of the keyboard for a few seconds each time someone writes me a message. I lose control of the keyboard each time I receive a notification. Each time someone goes online. Each time someone starts a game. Each time someone stops playing a game. You get the idea ![:banghead:](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/ahSwvSYySULJ0LMyGLJF.gif) I figured it must have been a problem on my end (the innocent tortoise that I am), until someone confirmed they are having the same trouble. Come on Origin, this is low even for you! Disabling in-game removes the issue, in a "throw the baby out with the bathwater" kind of way ... and still no chat lobbies

High: Collectors ![](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/scRQRZMETVOTXDUFItkV.png) Played PPR ColDept because lazy. And didn't want to be TOO obvious about my intentions (Lash/Pull are clearly the weapons of choice). Low: I'm dumb, set to regular reactor, not hazard. Low: Failed a few a-bomb attempts, I'm a scrub. High: Perfect chance to a-bomb wife. Staggered next to a-bomb. Detonate my Dark Sphere and... Low: Friend Lancered the a-bomb, wife still got a-bombed, but I was denied the pleasure of it. Low: Other friend seemed to be actively avoiding us during that match, I think he knew what was in store. High: Collectors ![](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/scRQRZMETVOTXDUFItkV.png) Have I mentioned that I like fighting collectors?

I'm still a MASSIVE newb at ME3MP. If there was a kiddy pool section of these forums, I'd probably belong there for another galactic cycle or so. Anyways, a recent high of mine was unlocking the Asari Huntress. Managed my second ever solo of bronze with her a few nights ago. I know, that probably sounds as easy as basic addition to most of you, but it was a huge milestone for me. Very fun character, though I really need to find a weapon that's good at shield penetration.
Low: I got my ass handed to me in a Collector Silver mission on Firebase Goddess. We won with full extraction, so it wasn't a failure, but it really showed me how little I actually know about how the game works. I was most certainly not expecting Praetorian after Praetorian after Praetorian during the VIP Targets objective. That was... terrifying. Had to use the rest of my Hydras just to get to downed teammates in time. On the brightside, I learned a lot! Like, for example, don't hoard Hydras like you hoard potions in Skyrim.
Should probably stick to bronze for a while longer, heh.

Should probably stick to bronze for a while longer, heh. Welcome! Don't let all the highs around here fool you, we are almost all scrubs ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/uYQYVMAupPAfTXFFwWlB.png) it's just that with top equipment and maxed manifests, we are better at hiding that fact ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/RebJidSPcxyF0U0Rr0uW.png) Honestly, equipment is half the battle in this game! And congrats on that solo! No solo is an easy feat. Acolyte and Talon have increased damage against shields. In general, weapons with high rate of fire or multiple pellets are better against shields. A good option for single-shot boomsticks is to equip phasic rounds, since they obliterate shields - note however that you will lose a big amount of damage against all other defenses by not equipping warp rounds. My personal preference with the Huntress is the Crusader: hits hard enough that shields go poof on mooks real fast, even through cover, and with still rounds in the magazine left to finish the job Collectors is the most difficult faction on silver, by far, and Goddess is not an easy map, so you really got the short end of the stick... and still extracted! My personal opinion is not to stick to bronze too long, or at all - I did it and I still regret it. As soon as you have a decent amount of consumables and a way to mitigate armour dmg reduction, take the plunge to silver! That is because bronze IMO teaches you to focus on bosses: since they don't respawn, it is worthwile to eliminate the biggest danger as fast as possible. On higher difficulties however bosses do respawn, and you are better off avoiding them as much as possible while focusing on smaller units. Don't hesitate to throw friend requests at people from around here either! Most will be happy to help you with unlocking your manifest, getting to grips with the higher difficulties, and answering any questions you might have. Have fun playing the game! Here's looking forward to reading more highs from you in this thread!

I would like to emphasize EVERYTHING HamleticTortoise said. It's all true. Try to play on Silver more than Bronze, unless you find that you simply cannot handle it. Bronze teaches LOTS of bad habits. Though it is perfectly fine to accept that you can't play Gold/Plat, it's good to challenge yourself to Silver, it will teach you better how the game actually works. Also, I would rate a Bronze solo much close to playing Gold (albeit, not with a good team, as a good enough team can make even Platinum a breeze). Some of us take Bronze/Silver solos/duos for granted (I know that I use them for levelling up classes), but that's because we have the OP equipment, and the experience (Think enemy spawns and movements, after a few thousand hours, enemies are quite predictable). Bronze solo is not a small achievement, it's a massive step forward, don't talk your own achievement down. Objective waves can be brutal, even on Bronze. Since you used the huntress for this one, I'd say there's a good chance you understand kiting, your average/typical PUG does not. Just for an example of the things it means you understand. A good way to rate Collectors is also to add +1 to the challenge level, Bronze collectors is a lot closer to a Silver match than it is Bronze, and Silver Collectors (especially in a PUG match) is definitely Gold Tier match. So again, you're doing pretty well. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/KGsHESiZGZU0pPuHuhQr.png) Unfortunately, I see that you're on Origin, so I can't help you out (PS3), but I'm sure that there are a few people around who'd be happy to run around Silver with you. Keep up the good work, the Galaxy must be saved! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/KGsHESiZGZU0pPuHuhQr.png)

All that HamleticTortoise and Arkhne said in the above posts hold true, but I'll also emphasize that if you really like this game you'll need to use the resource library. It is the work of love of many good players and contains many great guides, written or video, for everyone, no matter their level.

Wow, thanks for the advice & warm welcome! I followed your guys' advice and tried to stick to Silver today. It's a heck of a lot easier now that I know to keep the bosses alive until all the mooks are dead. And thank you for that resource library - reload cancelling should help a lot with some of my shotguns. And now I actually know what people are talking about when they say things like "mooks"; I just called them "adds" or "garbage" after playing so much SWTOR, heh. I spent most of the day in Silver matches, evenly spread between my QFI, TGI and Destroyer. I seem to have the most success with those three. I just unlocked the TGI earlier today, actually. I'm in love with those stims! Saved my hide more than once during another Collector Silver mission. Anyways, I did pretty well! Almost always got full extractions, with a few exceptions. My last match was against Collectors on Firebase Ghost with my Destroyer. We fared alright until extraction, but the rest of the team wanted to camp on the LZ as soon as the wave started. I wanted to help them, but I knew that it would be a death trap; two Scions, a Possessed Praetorian, and a boatload of mooks? With no missiles left? Multi-frags are good, but they aren't that good. I felt like a real bareface, not going over to help, but at that point it was already too late. Fortunately, I managed to train the enemies around half the map before bee-lining to the LZ at the last second. So.. technically an extraction? It sure as hell didn't feel like one, though. RIP team. ...On the brightside, the funds from that mission helped me unlock the Claymore! I hear that's a great gun for a lot of classes, so I'll have to try it out tomorrow. Now that I've sufficiently tested my feet, I think I'll probably be sticking with Silver from now on. A lot more challenging and stressful, but also more fun! Thanks again for all the help, everyone!

Good job! Camping the LZ is the most (in)famous mistake you can make as a newb, as for feeling bad about the way you played I am going to give you a quote from one of my favorite characters "Never let your sense of morals prevent you from doing what is right" (10 points for the one who identifies him). And congratulations on unlocking the Claymore (or as some of us like to call it the High Lord) ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/KGsHESiZGZU0pPuHuhQr.png) . Slap it on any soldier or infiltrator and you'll rock, especially once you master reload cancelling.

Claymore is a particularly good weapon at learning reload cancelling. But the reality is it's a niche market weapon despite the cult following. If you don't get the timing down for whatever reason you'll find the dramatic conclusion of a single-mag weapon and a missed shot in C.Q.C. Well... maybe not on silver, maybe even not on lolgold. But if you ascend to plat, things change. For my part I found the most success with the Claymore using the Batdept(Batarian Slasher). Warp/Claymore syncs quite well, with Clusternades as an extremely useful tool not on the same cooldown between Warp-Shoot. I found Lash less useful and more of a distraction from the Shoot-Warp/Reload Cancel-Shoot regimen. Albeit Lash does wonderful things to Possessed Abominations.
Laugh at the plebs that try and hold the LZ. Particularly if you get Lone Survivor. Then laugh more, or something.
And don't let the nice welcome fool you; you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than ME3MPers.

Also, Asimov quote. Salvor Hardin. Never read em though. All I did was google the quote. How and where do I spend my points? I believe I have 10 of them.

One more thing, the game has some bugs. Development has ended. That means every bug in the game just became a rule of the game. When you host Phantoms get 90% Damage Reduction from everything you (and only you) do to them, for instance. Paladin's Snap Freeze automagically get Tech Combo(6B) if you take Reach(4B). Volus can use their light-melee button to cloak, only it operates on two frequencies. It matters if you are walking or running, as their innate cloak is on two separate cooldowns. If you walk and cloak, then decloak, then run, you can cloak again. And vice versa. There is a lot going on that you can't find out without using the Resource Library. If you see yourself playing the game for a while I highly suggest checking out a few things. The bugs are interesting and varied. Certain weapons can take the heavy barrel attachments for no additional weight cost. Or Turians (paging salmasrac) only get their bonus passive stability to weapons if you aren't the last to join. (That's IIRC, I forget the rigamarole around that bug.)

I had the pleasure of killing some people this weekend. Some were in Reactor Hazard. A few others were done with Possessed Abominations. I did not get to cook anyone with a Possessed Abomination though. I'll have to work on that. I did, however watch a new vanguard get synch killed by a Scion. When they tell you that a Geth can't cry, I will tell you we can indeed cry. Seeing something like that made my flashlight cry tears of golden laughter.
When you look at me do you see a Geth? Or do you see a robot? Do you see the difference?
