Honestly, that whole presentation was a massive disappointment. Just VR after VR, 3 news games from relatively love key series, no new IP,and a freaking Skyrim card game!
Not sure why they bothered...

Fallout 4 was a great game imo. The one of the things which bothers me though is the save mechanic in Survival mode. Only being able to save when you sleep is extremely annoying, especially because molotovs one-shot you in the beginning and the enemy NPC's have perfect aim and a never ending amount of them to throw. They should've just used Fallout New Vegas its survival mode instead. It's a shame that Godd Howard doesn't acknowledge the existence of New Vegas because for me it's the best game of them all. Oh, and they also should get rid of the voiced protagonist. And bring skills back.

What a waste, if not for Wolfenstein 2 I'd brand the whole conference as horseshit. Seriously, you're on E3 and 80% of your "presentation" is trailers for games we already know about? gee...
And paid mods returning, jesus fuck, they really want that moneeeeyz, Because that ended well last time... I can't believe they're doing it again, granted they really thought about it this time around, but paid mods are still paid mods not two ways about it.

Their show was really disappointing. None of the new IPs they are supposedly working on were shown, half the damn thing was rehashing FO4 and Skyrim, again. I mean I really love Skyrim but seriously, the game is 6 years old now Beth. Stop hanging your hat on that. As for paid mods.... That would be the end of Bethesda for me. I'm down to basically just CDPR now.

It is at least a few years down the line. I don't remember correctly if Pete Hines said "2 new big titles" or "2 new IPs". Because if it's new IPs then it's GG for TES until 2025 or something. Evil within 2 and Wolfenstein 2 are not new IPs. The only IP I can think of is Starfield, that wasn't even announced yet... I'm thinking 2019 for TESVI sounds about right, but this Bethesda conference was kind of a joke, next year's could be even worse if they don't have anything to show.

I don't remember his exact words either, "2 new IPs" just seems to stick in my mind. The conference though, yeah that was bad. Even if they weren't trying shoot themselves in the knee with the paid mods I wasn't terribly excited by anything they showed. Wolfenstein and Evil Within both look good, just not my thing.

Only being able to save when you sleep is extremely annoying, especially because molotovs one-shot you in the beginning and the enemy NPC's have perfect aim and a never ending amount of them to throw. The idea of playing a Bethesda game and only using autosaves to back up progress is completely ludicrous, not just because of game difficulty but more fundamental problems such as bugs, accidental quest decisions (chose the wrong dialogue but now you can't reload because the last autosave was 20 minutes ago). I tend to save every 15-20 minutes in my Beth games. FO4's survival mode makes that impossible unless I fast travel to a settlement after every dungeon and every quest. That's too much.

So, I just finished Fallout 4 after about 150 hours play. I think I did about every quest that is possible in one playthrough. I went with the Railroad as a faction and stayed friendly with the Minutemen. My character was sort a stealthy Ninja/silenced weapons kinda girl, which got ridiculously overpowered by about level 20 (I ended at lvl 73) but was fun to play. Once I had the Deliverer from the Railroad introduction and Pickman's Blade from doing one of Hancock's early quests, I basically never switched weapons or used anything else again. So, this was my first Fallout game that I managed to finish (I started Fallout 1 once but never got far and I tried FO3 a couple of times but never went far beyond Megaton). I just never could really get into the story, especially with FO3. But this one did a good job keeping me interested mainly just for the exploration. I really liked the level design. How they managed to build "dungeons" into places that still looked like former houses or office buildings was quite ingenious, really. I also liked some of the companions. Curie is very obviously made for the cuteness factor but my favorite was probably Hancock, cool guy. The main story was one of Bethesda's better stories IMO, which of course is not saying that much but it did manage to keep up a decent level of tension while at the same time tying in very nicely with the faction system. I certainly found it more interesting than the TES stories, I have to say. Having seen the Institute, I really do wonder what a proper SciFi RPG made by Bethesda would look like. Still hoping the rumors about that Starfall thing are true. Oh and did anyone else think Travis (the Diamond City Radio guy) was way cooler before you do his quest? I liked him much better when he was that stuttering mumbling nerd, rather than him bein the "cool bro". You gotta respect a dude who has so much social anxiety but still goes out there and hosts a radio show. Oh, and Curie also was cooler as a robot then with the human/synth bodie. /rambling

The voice actor did a really good job. Then again the voice acting for Fallout 4 is pretty damn impressive. Glad you enjoyed the game!

Very true, by far the best voice acting in a Bethesda game yet. Though it was dam irritating to hear Garrus every 10 meters and that the PC is Jack. I mean, Courtenay Taylor did a really good job sounding different then she did in ME but Brandon Keener sounds exactly like Garrus and he really does seem to voice every 2nd NPC in this game.

If decency and fairness existed, Bethesda would pay (good) mod makers themselves for adding value and consumer interest to their games, instead, they are now going to use the time and work of mod makers to enrich themselves by taking money from consumers, while giving mod makers some scraps. Good going Bethesda, you really learned your lessons there. Oh! Arch, I always love to hear his thoughts when something like this happens. I saw his video a few days ago, he makes really fair points (notice, he tends to be negative about it, but fair points nonetheless).

The only thing I don't like about Fallout 4 is the game don't have a cover system or combat roll. It would be nice to have those things oh and I wanted to install weapons on my power armor.

I was half expecting to find Alli Hillis at the bottom.
