Yeah the main quest is lacking. At the moment I'm level 79 and have yet build the transporter to take me to the Institute. I'm just exploring the wastes and doing some side quests that I missed in other games. My girl was level 102 or something when I stopped playing. Never even got a sniff of the institute but I built a lot of comfortable settlements (and killed a lot of deathclaws). The Vault Tec guy can die? Oh. He's serving drinks in Sanctuary in my game.
Level 81 still haven't done much with the main quest. I may turn this game into a dead is dead game. Aka as in the next time my character is killed, they'll stay dead and I'll start a new game with a different character. I've been looking at some mods I would like to try out and it would be better to do it on a new game.

Yeah Preston. Before I take on the quest for the Nuka raiders to invade the Commonwealth, Preston will have the right equipment before I send him into exile in one of my far off settlements.

They droped the ball with Nuka world. Not only the storyline is extremely lackluster if you play as a good guy, but if you go through the raider path, there is no option to effectively take over the commonwealth and destroy the minutemen. That should be possible to do at least in the end game.

I don't know what these game devs think at times. If you side with the raiders, the Minutemen should turn hostile instantly regardless if you're the general or not. You just betrayed them by siding with their enemy. Preston not having anything to do with you doesn't cut it either. He should be pointing his gun at you and pulling the trigger. I like Nuka World the area but the main quest of it is ho hum.
They really need to look at the playing good or evil part. Playing evil in F4 is basically nothing. At least with the karma system of the other games, especially F3, even raiders didn't want to mess with you if your karma was very evil.
I usually play these games from a neutral perspective but there are times I want to play as a character who is bat shit insane and unpredictable, like World of Darkness Malkavian or a Joker/Harley Quinn type character.

The Nuka DLC was mediocre yeah. Only good part was the exploration, the sense of scale of the new map and the new content in form of items (weapons, armor, etc). The whole game is about you being part of the minutemen which are the anti-raiders, yet in Nuka you're supposed to go full bipolar and change the person you were/are in order to be a dumb dumb who raids their own settlements. Fucking retarded design decision, pretty much without mods to fix it you're better off not playing the DLC at all. The quest implementation is pretty bad too, basically run around the map and you get a new random quest for every major discovery.

There is some irony in playing some Fallout 76 and it making me miss the superior Fallout 4, which I've gone back to playing. Not really, F76 made me load up F4 as well but not because I feel it is superior. But those games sure do have a lot in common. So for me the reminescence is a positive thing. Now I have even more to chose from to when I want that special post nuclear apocalypse. Fun times all around.

I'm having fun with F4. Playing psychotic evil to the best of the game's ability is a blast. Been taking on evil type quests in the game that I have not done or had ignored in the past. I had to reload a previous save because Cait turned hostile on me. It was a quest for the Pack to go put a slave collar on someone in Good Neighbor. Soon as I convinced the fool to put the collar on, Cait went hostile and started shooting at me. So I reload the game and parked her far away and did the quest again. All we need is for someone to make a West Virginia mod that you can visit in Fallout 4.

Fucking retarded design decision, pretty much without mods to fix it you're better off not playing the DLC at all. The quest implementation is pretty bad too, basically run around the map and you get a new random quest for every major discovery. I very much disagree. I loved Nuka World! Becoming a raider is AN OPTION. Which they put in the game because of all the complaints about role playing restrictions. People wanted an evil option and Bethesda delivered. And FO4 is not about becoming the MM general. That's an option too. It's about finding your son and dealing with the Institute. How you go about that is your own choice. Granted, the MM and settlements get pushed on you hard as a feature but the story focus is on your son. You can very well roleplay your Sole Survivor as somebody who got damaged badly psychologically by the irradiated hellhole they woke up to. As a MM general your goal in Nuka World would be to destroy the raider gangs. Which is what I did. How well the raider option is implemented I cannot say. Never did it. Knowing how well things are usually implemented in Bethesda games I would assume poorly. I like the IDEA of it at least. And to me Nuka World was great fun even playing a good character. It cuts the DLC a bit short. But the best thing is the theme parts anyway. Also the spaceship lunatics quest. I loved all the DLC. Didn't find any of them weak. The workshop items were muuuuch appreciated. Certainly much better than the majority of FO3 DLC.

It does this for all mods (I tried doing it with random ones to see if was just stopping the ones I wanted). It's on the Xbox 1.

It's on the Xbox 1. I'd been experiencing that glitch and tried half a dozen solutions. In the end, deleting 'reserved space' did the trick. If that's not a fix you're aware of I'll talk you through...

(shrug) Bethesda are not without their issues... This was the second time it has happened. Though in that time it would always log me out. And it sucks that you need to delete other mods to get it to work again (most of the mods I use are weapon mods, never really liked the weapons from the main game. Especially that assault rife, miss the old one from FO3).
