BioWare Video: N7 Day 2018

Not really a glimpse at the future though 🤔

No, it's really not because that's exactly what they did. We got nothing this N7 Day. 

No, they gave some players something. Anyone who doesn't play on a Xbox One X got nothing. 
We already knew that. N7 Day should have been when they actually expanded on the idea of "We're working on something". But no, they couldn't even muster that. 

They just gotta keep everyone "full Anthem" they can't/won't talk about DA or ME at all, that's how it works these days on the industry, could also be that they have nothing for the franchise just yet, something I'm inclined to believe.
But yeah, it sucks. Not surprised though.

The reality is after Anthem performs like I think it will ( really well ), Mass Effect will forever be delegated down to the "B" or "C" team. Casual Destiny players will flock to it like flies on shit. Do you really think EA will pull the "A" team off of Anthem to make another ME:A after the hate the game generated?

Assuming we even get another Mass Effect...

Yeah, it's a waste. They started the whole N7 thing for november, and don't even care about it. It's completely lame every single year.

Well, maybe next year with Anthem already released and Dragon Age as the main target of Bioware we may get something better.

Oh well, another N7 day and another terrible video.

Not gonna lie, that artwork with Ryder & Shepard made me slightly emotional. Props to the artist for the details in the background - it's occurred to me just how similar Ryder's story is to both the trilogy and (dare I say) Destiny, another sci-fi universe I love.

Here's to hoping Ryder and the gang gets to make contact with the rest of the Andromeda galaxy

I think Ryder story mirrored the MET too much for comfort, and it brought a bunch of narrative problems.

But I can get it if Bioware's intent was to give Ryder an abbreviated set of challenges in order to put them on a sort of start that arguably surpasses the earlier (pre-ME1, somewhat ME1) experience of Shepard. Ryder faces a threat to their whole extent of home (Heleus), something that transforms all people (Kett), navigating the issues of a societal centre (Nexus), and the region's scummier groups (exiles), while discovering ancient technology that may help or ruin everything (Remnant). That sort of stuff. Every part has its own twist, and in my opinion new direction (to sum up: it's more about life than death, enlightenment than ignorance, etc), but it's all a shorter mirror to the trilogy or at least many parts of it.

It would allow both protagonists, if they could actually meet, to share sympathetic stories, with Shepard the legacy that actually raises eyebrows at hearing particular accomplishments of Ryder (so far; maybe more to come), and Ryder the newcomer that sees something relatable in the legend of Shepard.


I'm into that. I'm not into how it all played out, but I can believe that Bioware internally had this sort of (symbolic) concept and thought it was good, and I also think it is good (enough).

Did anyone notice that his (casey's) mug is the only cup that does not say N7 but something else?
