Since there's not going to be any body sliders, there should at least be a muscle slider that just enhances the muscle textures, or removes them, kind of like how scars worked in DA:I. Only visible with revealing armor/when your clothes are off. Same with body hair, they could at least add some basic textures to choose from. Also, scars on the body as well, and tattoos.
They can make more body customization options even if you there is no body sliders.

Anyone played a mobile visual romance novel game The Arcana? Has this character called Murial, big buff ex-gladiator guy. Would totally go for a character like him in DA. He also has a pet wolf so close to a wolf man...? Totally recommend the game btw, the story is pretty good.

I saw this art today and thought what a great character design for a gay KISA. The artistic dissonance between the photo-realisitc man and the giant anime axe is distracting. Keep it simple or go all out, but no fence sitting !
As for all these so called "werewolves", I've noticed a lack of key elements:
-Supernatural curse that taints the body and soul? Nope.
-Uncontrollable rage and bloodlust? Nope.
-Horribly painful transformations? Nope.
-Dirty, bloody, and feral appearances? Nope.
-Constant fear of spreading the curse, possibly killing and/or having killed innocents and loved ones? Nope.
Sounds more like you guys want shapeshifters, mutants, aliens, anthropomorphized lupine, and/or cartoon "funny animals", but NOT actual werewolves .

There was a conversation earlier about whether the player would take the opportunity to help or encourage the werewolf person to undertake a cure, or to help them accept their existence as a werewolf. The idea of the curse and its ramifications is certainly present for some of these players.

I still maintain the image of a "tame" wolf man seems to be the more popular image here, rather than the viscous monster of Classic Horror.
It's like Twilight all over again .

But if they were cured, the whole idea of loving a werewolf would be rendered moot. sigh You could go back and find the discussion without making assumptions. In fact, some players said they would not want the option of a cure, or prefer that you help the person accept who they are (a werewolf).

I did read the original discussion, and the "accept being werewolf" option still sounded like a watered down and safe version, as opposed to the uncontrollable bloodlust of Classic Horror ones. Seriously, what's wrong with saying "I want an anthropomorphized lupine or dog man" as opposed to sanitizing werewolves?

Sounds more like you guys want shapeshifters, mutants, aliens, anthropomorphized lupine, and/or cartoon "funny animals", but NOT actual werewolves . There's a lot wrong with this, so let's break this down. Werewolves are shapeshifters. All of them. Without exception. If they have only one form, then they are not, according to the definition, werewolves. Werwulf (man wolf) or lukanthropos (wolf person) in folklore are humans, who shapeshift into wolves or wolf-human hybrids. What you're thinking of is the RPG style of shapeshifters, where magic is involved. Shapeshifters can shapeshift, the source of this ability does not matter. And it's not like werewolves being blood dripping murder machines is the only valid interpretation of the werewolf myth. In the 12th century tale Bisclavret, the werewolf is betrayed by his wife after he reveals his secret. She hides his clothes, which leads to him being stuck in wolf form. He comes across the king, who, surprised by the wolf's gentle and noble nature, brings him back to the castle and the two become inseparable. When the wife visits the castle, he attacks her. The king defends the wolf, saying it must have been justified. The truth is revealed, the now nose-less wife and her new lover are exiled, and Bisclavret and the king live happily ever after. Guillaume de Palerme and Melion feature similar "gentle werewolf" themes. Turkic legends had shamans, who could transform into wolfmen and were revered for it. You also have Slavic folklore that had werewolf deities (Horz and Veles), or the tradition to give children wolf names to ward them from evil. There are a lot of myths that have different interpretations. Disney and modern cinema ingrained in us the gentle mermaid trope, but many myths, like the Greek ones with sirens and Slavic ones with rusalkas, depicted them as man eating monsters. So you might as well complain that Ariel is not a "real" mermaid. Werewolves being vulnerable to silver is a modern trope. The alpha-beta-omega hierarchy is based on a modern bunk study. Connecting the transformation to the full moon, while present in some folklore, didn't become a universal werewolf story element until the 20th century. The only required element is a human turning into a wolf or a wolf human hybrid. Anything else isn't obligatory. Claiming that people are sanitising werewolves is stupid. No one owns werewolves, common themes change. Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that what people talk about here are not "real" werewolves. Classic horror movies are not some holy scripture, just one of the interpretations. So calm down with the gatekeeping. The Shape of Water should be enough evidence that there can be different interpretations of mythical creatures without people going "omg the vodyanoi would never romance anyone, this is unrealistic, why u sanitising swamp themed horror?!" But yes, I want a werewolf companion, who sometimes struggles to keep control. Who's extremely territorial. Who might lash out and snarl at everyone, who tries to come close, except for a high friendship/romanced protagonist. Also, I want this, not "funny animals" (not that those are somehow bad, or don't have a place in certain visual styles) tl;dr

Wow all of that was great. I'm a bit confused by some of the phrasing here. To me, using words like "shapeshift" and "ability" suggests it's a voluntary transformation. Voluntary is what exists in Skyrim -- I never used the ability during the time my guy was a werewolf. Now, my reason as a player was because I simply wasn't interested in the whole werewolf mechanic. My character's RP reasoning, and indeed the reason for accepting the cure, was because he didn't like the way it made him feel, with heightened aggression and that there was this inner beast struggling to escape; this affected his human existence and relationships. It IS very compelling story material with a lot of potential. Would you prefer that over the involuntary type shown in other media? The "I must be locked away during the full moon" type?

Maybe there's a better word than ability, but I can't really think of one. I mean, you can say people have the ability to breathe air, even though most of the time it is involuntary. Also, werewolves are called shapeshifters all of the time, even though most of the ww fiction and legends lean towards the transformation being involuntary. I prefer the middle ground - they can do it at will most of the time, but some stuff, like emotional trauma or the full moon (it's corny, and based on the false belief that wolves howl to it, but I like it) can make them lose control over it. I like the idea of werewolves having to practice shifting to learn to fully control it. And born werewolves slipping up, when they are kids. Oh, like DA mages! That would give them some common ground/banter opportunities with mages on the squad.
