How about a party where everyone is promiscuous EXCEPT the byseckshual? I wouldn't want the gay guy to be promiscuous either, but if anyone else is into that, by all means go for it! Not that my vote matters much anyway...but yeah.

I don't know if avoiding stereotypes altogether is the way to go, it limits character designing and writing a lot if you are trying to avoid traits and behavior because x character happens to be y. Characters shouldn't be based on stereotypes, that much is true, but trying to avoid stereotypical things like a plague isn't that much better either. Apparently that's literally why we have straight Solas.

I think bioware already limits themselves in some ways due to this. They rarely make feminine men at all, but the more masculine leaning women are never lesbians and generally not even bi. They shouldn't avoid things just because they're stereotypes. They should be aware if they're leaning into specific stereotypes often, but avoiding them at a certain point just does more damage than good and questionably starts sending the message that it's bad to be those things at all. Yes, I've seen much thirst for a more "butch" F/F companion. Witchcocktor, true they shouldn't feel the need to avoid stereotypes like the plague, but I also think that we can afford to have a gay companion, (since of course we've had a whopping total of one (1) up to this point), who doesn't conform to any gay stereotypes. Perhaps we could even have 2(!!!!) gay male LIs. (Now wouldn't that be a monumental shock!) One of them could have some of the more "stereotypical" characteristics and one of them has none. I am all for everyone getting an equal amount of options, but if they were ever to shock the world and have more than one gay guy existing simultaneously, I'd ideally like them to be very different from one another.

When i asked why solas wasn't made gay instead of straight (since they allegedly ran out of time to finish his and Cullen's bisexual romance) Mike Laidlaw said there's no way they could've had two gay male LIs in the game. Granted that was in 2014 so hopefully they've evolved since then, plus ML is no longer with them.

Oh lord, this reminds me of a conversation I had on reddit with this user who insisted Sera should've been bisexual because she's "fun and free-spirited" and thus it "doesn't make sense" that she's a lesbian and not bisexual. Or numerous people who've said that Zevran and Isabela "make sense" as bisexual, but Fenris and Merrill don't. 'Cause bisexuality is a personality type, ya know. Oh man, I don’t understand why bisexuality and pansexuality break people’s brains so much. It’s like the only reason someone could go for another gender is because they ran out of fuckbuddies in the first one. And in order to keep their sexuality intact, every bi must fuck exactly 50% women and 50% men simultaneously. Every encounter is at least a threesome, and lord only knows how the pan folks manage. Yeah, there's this weird pervasive belief that bisexual people are people who are just SO overwhelmingly sexual that a monosexual orientation can't contain them or something. I roll my eyes into eternity!!!

And I would definitely partake in that romance if it was a guy.

Yeah, well, my love life mostly consists of crying myself to sleep and plotting to murder everyone who ever hurt me, and that's still a better romance than Gil.

I hope we never get a romance that poorly treated again-and it's criminal since the voice actor they got for the role is really talented. It could have been amazing!

Fenris, Merrill, Isabela, and you will need to hold hands in the Chantry and think about only me, and not any possible other versions of me that could have been a different gender? Huh, maybe it makes more sense in Tevene.”

A straight human fellow, non-messed up mage preferably, with a dash of humour and a lot of fun sarcasm would be great. Also far less sappiness/over romantic cheesy lines A guy more confident in themselves and their abilities when they're met. I'm tired of being the reason they get their confidence at the end, let them be confident without some chick having to push them into that frame of mind or 'save' them from depression or addictions. I did not like any of the MEA romance options (by that I mean ALL sexualities, I'm not someone who refuses to play other orientations to enjoy a romance ). I didn't even really like any of the characters overall, meaning romanced, fling, friends or none of those. I talked myself into Reyes because he's the only one I could at least enjoy talking to.

I know hurt/comfort appeals to a lot of people but straight/bi ladies get a LOT of that so maybe it's time for a LI whose self-worth isn't strongly tied to the protagonist or the protagonist's decisions?

Gomez, stop! You are making me need to replay DA:O with a Lady Aeducan again. Their dynamic was awesome. And I'd love to see a romance like that again. I was always disappointed at how unsatisfying their reunion was, though.

I'm a sad Zevran fan because everyone is hating on his romance and he is in my top three romances and I just don't get it. He and Alistair and Fenris have little pieces of my heart with their names stamped on them. What did he do that was so anti gay exactly?
