Okay dwarf lovers -- time to start massing our forces again. vertigomez, that means you too, lady!
What role do we expect to see dwarves playing in DA 4? Which prominent dwarves are we hoping to see return? Will the PC be able to be a dwarf again?
My thoughts:
1.) Given that we are likely going to be in Tevinter and that there is a very strong relationship between the Imperium and the dwarves of Kal-Sharok, I strongly suspect that dwarves will play a somewhat prominent role. I would love to see the Ambassadoria. Maybe even being able to support them as they lobby the Magisters for support? I would also really like to see Kal-Sharok and explore how similar/different it is from Orzammar.
2.) Is it wrong that I've just been operating under the working assumption that Lace Harding is definitely a companion in DA4? I mean, why else would they show her prominently in the Tevinter tease ending scene in Trespasser? I'm assuming that she's in, specifically as an Inquisition Agent sent to help out the Lucerni efforts in Tevinter. She'll be our ranged rogue and, if there is any justice in the world, a bisexual romance so that my lady qunari or dwarf PC can finally get her dwarf on! Other than that, I can't think of any other dwarf characters I'd like to see. Maybe a cameo from someone like Olinda or Orta. Maybe little Endrin Aeducan if you put Bhelen on the throne (and depending on the year). But otherwise, give me new dwarves!
3.) There will be a reckoning if I can't be a dwarf. If I wait 5+ years for a new DA game and get stuck playing a human, I revolt.
Thoughts?

I'd be SHOCKED if Harding wasn't a companion, and a romance to boot. I can definitely see DA4 opening the series for a dwarf romance. Sadly it's not a male dwarf but hey you gotta start somewhere! Harding got a lot of positive feedback from all of the playerbase, so BW would be a fool not to include her. Personally I'm whatever about her, but she needs to be part of DA4, it's only reasonable. There's also no saying that we are able to play a dwarf on DA4, which I can understand makes a lot of people anxious. But since we are going to Tevinter, a dwarf SHOULD be one of the options. I wouldn't personally miss the dwarf option, because I'm more interested in playing a horny ( ) big lad, but it still should be an option.

Lace Harding of course. I´d also be shocked if she isn´t our new connection / bridge companion like Oghren, Anders and Varric before. Shale as retransformated female dwarf would also be neat. No Bianca and Varric please. For obvious reasons no to Bianca and Varric? I love this guy but 2 games in a row as our starting rogue is already enough. Its time for a break and that others like Maevaris tells stories about him. Other dwarves maybe Jerrik and Brogan Dace? Just kidding nobody cares about these bores. I liked Javaris Tintop in DA 2 but i could be killed. I don´t know if many DAO players remember this guy but my dwarven nobles really want these backstabber dead. I am speaking of course from Frandlin Ivo.

I have a feeling that the reason why Scout Harding wasn't a full-romance in DAI was because they wanted to keep her unattached for future games. Even if your Inquisitor pursued her in DAI, I wouldn't really mind it if DA4 we learned that things didn't ultimately work out, due to long distances and busy schedules constantly keeping them apart.

I'd rather have Dagna over Harding. Give me the genius that specializes in the wondrous and magical over the scout that can use a bow.

I'd like to see the Kal-Sharok dwarves. They were the original capital of the Dwarves, so I wonder just how much knowledge of their history do they know?
Also, I just want to visit a non-ruined dwarven settlement.

Le me: *sees a new Dwarf topic for DA4* Le me:
Dwarves lovers united once more, woot!
I fully intend to play a Dwarf in DA4, if given the option - if not, I'm starting a war, simple at that. Or I'll just cry. Kvasir can only be a Dwarf. Don't force another Hawke on me, Bioware.
I also hope to see more of Harding, and maybe also Dagna, and definitely Sandal, but also plenty of new Dwarves from the Ambassadoria.
And I'd also love to romance Mae as a Dwarf in DA4. There, I said it. Please make Mae a Dwarf-only romance, Bioware, and make said romance the best in DA4. So people will have to play a Dwarf to romance her ('cause else the camera will be royaly screwed -ah! who's laughing now?) and soon they'll realize Dwarves actually rule and we'll get plenty of new Dwarf players. #profits

You know, to leaven all the ancient elf stuff that's bound to happen, a really solid romp in the living thaig of Kal-Sharok would be very welcome. We haven't visited a living thaig since DAO.
Plus, all the Descent DLC and Titans stuff we know about now would also suggest that dwarves should play a major part in the main quest for DA4.

I'm definitely looking forward to adding another dwarf protagonist to the roster, and if that doesn't happen..... I'll riot. Tevinter has a loooong history with Orzammar in particular, and Dorian mentions that they don't have the same "must-be-selling-something" stereotype that they do in the South, due to how numerous and influential dwarves are in Tevinter. I'm psyched about the Ambassadoria and the Proving Grounds. Hell, I'd love to see Orzammar in the Frostbite engine if we get an opportunity to revisit that glorious thaig. I suspect Harding will return as a companion, yeah. She had a lot of rather personal conversations with the Inquisitor, and I don't just mean the flirting - her sympathizing with you being a symbol vs. a person in JoH, and trying to follow you to fight Corypheus (foiled by gravity, a dwarf's greatest enemy). Plus she's bisexual and adorable and shows up at the end under Leliana's wing, so I could see it happening. I wouldn't complain, anyway. I find her utterly charming. ALSO!! I want to know wtf is up with the Voshai and those seafaring dwarves and why they want lyrium so bad and whatever "cataclysm" happened in the west... check out this video @ 7:50 for some neat theorizing:

The prescense of the lyrium idle in the trailer suggest to me that titans, the blight, and by association, dwarves, will be imprtant in da4.
Shale could turn up again, as someone who is looking for or has looked for magical secrets to allow her to regain dwarven form, so she could be a connection to ancient lore information for elves, titans, the blight etc, depending on what she ended up finding/where she ends up searching.
As a Scout, Lace Harding could very easily show up anywhere and thereby easily be an npc or a companion in the next game.
I would love to have a new Kal'sharok dwarf companion as I'm extremely curious to see how their society differs from orzammer - and what knowledge of dwarven history they may have. And one of the best windows into a dragon age culture you can have is a companion.

DWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARVES.
Ahem. Yes. Actual thread content.
There are many dwarf things I would like to see in #TheDreadWolfRises that have already been mentioned. In particular, I'd really like to have more than one dwarf in the party for the first time since Awakening. Either an Ambassadoria dwarf or a native of Kal-Sharok could be really interesting, and provide a contrast to surfacer Lace Harding.
More specifically, I'd love a dwarf companion who's not a surface AND doesn't decide that the surface is the Best Place Ever as soon as they get there. Not that it doesn't make sense for Oghren and Sigrun to feel that way given what they're leaving behind, but I'd love to see someone with the same attitude to Orzammar/Kal-Sharok that Dorian has to Tevinter. (Broadly speaking 'my home has a lot wrong with it but I love it, and besides, your home is an uncivilised hell hole.')

What if our Dwarven companion was an Executor or Qunari sleeper agent? Perhaps they only claim to be from Kal-Sharok because it provides excellent cover for any slip-ups or gaps in their knowledge, in addition to preventing anyone from verifying their credentials (which would still be true even if they were from Kal-Sharok, due to their isolationism).
Since none of our characters would have been to Kal-Sharok, we'd have no reason not to doubt their story and any strange/suspicious behaviour could be chalked up to cultural differences and their reputation for secrecy.
