Another german gamer have said in an inerview with gronkh: Traslotion: You can skill your companions,by improving your relationship with them. Could be like DA2 where high friendship/rivalry was required to unlock certain part of their tree.

With pages flying by, I didn't notice a couple of things, hope someone asks these at the QnA: Will our Rooks have a set last name, like before? Will there be romanceable characters outside of the Team? I think that, if someone from the BSN is attending the Q&A, maybe we could gather some questions to be asked there? I would add, if this wasn't answered previously: -How the dialogue with NPCs during exploration will be presented? The camera in the shoulder like DAI or the cutscenes like DA:O and DA2?
let's make a list of questions Based off th egamepla ytrailer i tlooks moer cutscene yt ome it's only combat now that's more over th eshoulder which I htink is wha tworks bes tfo rthis sort of game as I think I' dprefer t ose ethe characters reactions as they repl yt othings and questions.

Back home... time to catch up! Anyone else get a Dr. Manhattan vibe from the redesigned demons? I really dislike the new enemy design... This is not Dragon Ages to me. But then again BioWare has been downhill with the enemy design since DA2. I really wish they'd stuck to one design for all their games. DA has never had much of a visual identity, no iconic art style like Mass Effect. I think that's part of the problem, some people were drawn to the dark gritty style of DAO and have been disappointed ever since. Others prefer more color. So the fan base has always been arguing what makes Dragon Age Dragon Age. Art style *is* very important for tone and I too struggle with how different each game looks. Ultimate all I want is a good narrative but I can't deny the design choices have me worried a bit. AGAIN. I guess I'm going to be an outlier and say that I actually quite like the new demon design - if anything, the sort of glowing nervous system wrapped in darkness is fairly unique, and at the same time it reminds me of something from past DA games that may be quite relevant now (namely: lyrium veins). It's also easy to explain - the world is changing and the inhabitants of a realm that is basically fluid and ever-changing change to, maybe in response to the Veil getting thinner. Also, as much as DA never had a style set in stone (which isn't that bad, per se - each game can look different, because each is colored by subjective perspective of that chapter's protagonist) I'm very happy that they brought tarot cards back, together with its iconic art style. That thing has actually spurred a mini-art movement among young digital artists that is alive even today.

Busche continues: “And along the way we'll make consequential decisions for each of them, sometimes affecting who they are, sometimes heart-wrenching – I've cried more than once – and sometimes pretty joyous.”
It this a game or a soap opera? Are we on a mission to save the world or are we now worried about what Tom did to Sara's sister over the weekend? I get the impression that the writers will present to us with unwanted choices about some party member. A loyalty mission choice of sorts. Is this a binary choice? ... continue with a timed mission or save a family member from the team? From what Busche is saying, it's one or the other.... so this is a guaranteed loss of one from a binary choice decision.
Dragon Age has been a soap opera since the first game. What do you think you were playing with all the family drama and romance?
Never had " heart-wrenching" moments... hm, well, I did miss Bethany.... Ahem... but very briefly.

It's always been a bit of a fantasy soap. An RPS writer recently called the Dragon Age series a "Fantasy dating sim." I chuckled at that because while it is not it does have an appeal for those that desire romance in a fantasy setting. DA draws all sorts and there is a perfectly legit fan who is into this series less for the action/combat and more for the romance, friendship, and relationships in a fantasy setting. It's legit and I am glad it's there.
Fair. But I don't like to be put in such situations. I can't think straight with mushy stuff.

That's why the option should be there to always opt out of companion romances especially with so many people willing, these days, to admit they are on the A scale. There should be an option to say "let's just be good friends." And some people just want the action and story without that. A good rpg respects all choices. *Now me I am a bit more like Cassandra when it comes to romance.

Fair enough about story reasons. I just really don't like the design and the whole neon overload with everything. I loved the taro cards in DAI, bought the physical card deck too and still use it, but don't like the new tarot cards AT ALL. The Lucanis card is the trashiest thing I've ever seen. Awful. No comparison to the DAI cards. But that's just my opinion or course.

Replaying the game demo, it seems that Rook does most of the killing while Varric and Harding are the slow pokes. Is my perception wrong or is it because the camera is focused on Rook?
Speaking of the camera, I noticed that it has a 360 degree rotation. That I like.

As I mentioned upthread (or maybe in another thread, I've lost count) it's not even close. Rook is doing 5-10 times as much damage as the others. It's like they are only there to add banter or be damage sponges. I really hope that's not the case.

One of Neve's attack deal noticeable damage, but the "bows" hit like wet noodles, Rook's bow included.

Like Midnight I also really like the tarot cards, and I'd like for them to keep them as they are distinct and creative. I also like Tevinter having a more futuristic look, makes sense in a place where magic is abundant that it's also used a lot. I do wish they had gone for a more "realistic" look regarding faces and so on, this version will take some getting used to.

SO, coming near the end og the gameplay demo, Varric makes the decision to meet Baldy and try to talk him out of it. Immediately, Lace and Neve express opposing views. Are we back to a point system? Whatever happened to "complex relationships" ?

Might be a silly question, but did anyone happen to find someone who saved the music used during the gameplay livestream (prior to the showcase)? I'm a sucker for good video game soundtracks.

Obviously the more a companion is taken on quests, the higher their stat. It's unfortunate the companions aren't playable in this game. It's a feature I really liked. I remember that. It was fun comparing stats, not just the number of kills but the status of the kill. I seem to recall that on one run I started to get really competitive over this. I might have more minor kills, like loads of hurlocks, but Alistair was credited with taking down the Ogre. I couldn't have that. Cue getting everyone else to stand back whilst I did the killing blow and the satisfaction of doing the finish.

Warrior have a Reaper spec? Do they have greenish/black power, have a shroud feature and can use a greatsword like scythe on top of the life steal? Me wants to know.
If it's just Reaver 4.0, I'll pass.
It would be strange if it was a coincidence, but a third statue that stood between those two was also damaged, i wonder if that means a third Evanuris will escape? Perhaps we'll get surprised by them later in the game, or maybe they'll lay low and we won't even find out they got out too until the post credit scene 🤔 The lower ring of statues has two Beetlehead in a row. It's the only repeated one and it is involved in the scaffolding incident. The higher outer ring had all different 7 heads and both outer and inner ring are in the same order except for that repetition.
Here the 3 Beetle head:
Here the not Beetle head on the outer ring: I noticed it too. I was wondering if they made mistake and accidentally put two beetles and not that other kinda similar shape, or if it is intentional.

Do we know who made the music? It's not at all like the music from DAO or DA2, but while different I really loved most of DAI's music so I don't mind going down a similar path. From what I can hear here the music will be very nice. Would have been cool if this style and Inon Zur's could be intertwined to call back to the game's origins (pun intended).
