It just occurred to me (and should have way earlier than this, I'm slow), but this will be the first game where I can't experience gameplay for classes besides the one I'm playing. I mean, yeah, I was usually behind my player character 70-80% of the time in the other games, anyway. But still. I doubt I'll get much of a feel for how another class plays by watching the companions from 3rd person pov. Like, watching Ashley didn't really tell me how Soldier played in ME.
I guess I really am gonna have to create multiple characters this time around. lol
The only feeling I ever really got from watching the other classes play in Dragon Age and body hopping was I really didn't want to play a warrior in 2 or Inquisition lol.

Yeah, I wasn't exactly complaining. (Except, I guess this means I really won't get to play mage for a while if I play dwarf. It keeps coming back to that for me this week. XD) Like, I love ME. And I even loved the combat in Andromeda, which seems like it might be a good analogue to VG's combat, but with more magic and no jump jets(?). It may not bother me at all once I'm in there. I just have been replaying DAI recently and I find myself switching around (in tac cam, which I *have* always used and will probably miss...) and it just struck me that I won't get to fling lightning at fools directly if I don't play a mage Rook. Or get to switch to a companion and lead the group with them at the fore cus its more story/rp appropriate to me and I'm a dork that way. lol
Again, I probably won't really notice. Probably. I doubt it'll bug me anyway.
The only real worry I have is how the Inquisitor's presence is gonna actually be handled. I went from "10 years of opinionated but trying to keep my expectations in check" to "hopeful" to "not hopeful" to "bemused and confused about whether to be hopeful or not" over the course of this 2 months of marketing ramp up. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy most of the rest of the game, but if I'm gonna complain about anything, Inquisitor has a high potential to be on the list. I hope not, though.

I feel like an odd ball. The only time I ever saw tac came in DAI was when you are forced to during the prologue, and even then I just immediately close it without doing anything. The only time I ever switch to companions is when I need a lock picked or a wall kicked in.

In DAI, I switched between party members via my F keys, and built them for quick access to my preferred abilities or potions/tonics/ grenades. I found tactical lacking in DAI, but I do prefer the faster combat of maneuvering on the fly.

I've upgraded my Metacritic avg. scores from 6-7 to 7... mostly due to the rumored CC tweaks improvements.
I believe Bio richly benefitted from their decision to release the CC specs. The studio obtained data that their "super CC" wasn't so for valid reasons and had the time to make some positive changes (I think) before gaming sites reviewed the game.

I started "da4" in October 2015 and so after 9 years of effort (minus 3 months on Andromeda) I'm quite excited for tomorrow and the launch week. I don't know if I'd say nervous, I feel pretty confident in the product, but definitely that eager kid before Christmas feeling 😊.

Nothing specific but my view is that some CC sliders now actually do something... like a wider range of body morphing, as an example. Perhaps they've added/modified base face models to include a wider range of looks (Bio's inclusivity mantra) instead of only including meh (my opinion) default models. Let's not forget hair styles of which BG3 offers good ones.
Betacritic scores will be positively affected by these changes, imo.

That is very good to hear.
I'm back to work tomorrow, but I'll try and check in every now and then. Good luck!

Oh, my. These old bones haven't felt something like that in ages.

^ Lil bit of a missed opportunity to make Arcane Shot like DAI's 'Energy Barrage', where the skill takes up your staff's elemental properties. I loved that spell.
But this looks cool, though. And it leaves your enemies with a burning sensation. O.o
Go Evoker staff Mage, there are some items and skills that will let you do a staff-themed energy barrage rather frequently 😉
OMG 1st playthrough with my main, 110%!!! 🙌

*staying away from the Launch Trailer as I don't want to spoil anything. I've watched a bit of the Character Creation video, maybe 5 minutes...and I've listened to Vows & Vengeance which I enjoyed. But I really want to be completely blown away and surprised by what I see when I finally get to download and play the game myself on Friday or Saturday. So after today I am going dark.
