Yea, there's a lot of hard feelings about that on BW devs twitter accounts as well, it's just that it's not really related to any particular title and thus doesn't merit bringing it up here... nevermind that bringing it on its own will likely spur discussion about RL politics, which directly affects the state of gaming market and what happens on it now...

Let's be real, when it comes to Dragon Age companions and advisors there are only four categories:

1) This is a terrible idea and you should run.

2) Might make an OK fuckbuddy if you can avoid the emotional baggage and the assassins.

3) Just not that into you (because they're spoken for/a Qunari/a large pile of rocks/secretly dead.)

4) Josephine.

Here’s hoping for Category 4s every game.

Healthy relationships are kinda dull. Honestly, all of my most memorable relationships have been with trainwrecks. Well, except for the one where I was the trainwreck.

The thing is, I don't want a shared world. Whether well-implemented or not, the fact that it is a shared world is the big turn-off in the first place. Meanwhile, there are games like EU4, where they added features and expansions for years to the point that it cost you 200€+ in total, that's fine. Of course the new content will need to be good, and the initial instalment substantial, but I will not balk at spending that much money over time on a single game and its expansions if it is - and if there is no forced MP element like a shared world in it. If there is, I'll opt out of the initial instalment and that's it.

I was going to make a silly comment about the evening ending with a bang, but I won't.

Alistair's would probably start off as something which seems lame - like he takes you bowling. Then you realize he's rented the entire place, because he remembered your anniversary, and has it all set up with candles so he can clumsily serenade you while blushing the entire time.

Dorian's dream date would be some elaborate extravaganza which you both decide to ditch halfway through to head down to the worst dive in the city. There you end up in a big fight with sailors. Who you then drink shots with after the fight's over until you all pass out.

Fenris's dream date would probably involve raiding a magister's Tevinter mansion, and then - excited like a schoolboy - he demonstrates his latest choreography for you amidst the ruins. Plus, he brought wine.

Zevran's dream date would involve him taking you on a tour of Antiva while he plays a mandolin. All the locals seem to know him and bring out cakes and other delightful treats. Eventually it turns out to be the lead-up to an assassination. After the fight, he apologizes with sex.

Cassandra's date is taking you to a play of Varric's first novel. Her delight is palpable. You arranged to have her dragged on stage to play a character... at first she protests , but then plays the part perfectly. After, you walk along the pier while she talks about her dreams.

Morrigan's dream date is taking you to break into a tomb full of musty tomes. You read passages to each other while she laughs at your interpretations of the text. As you're leaving, she suddenly remembers to tell you she had a lovely time. You're not allowed to call it a date.
