O loot, loot, wherefore art thou, loot in DA4?
Did the game designers engineered quantity over quality? Loot discovery over crafting? Will DA4 gives us meaningful crafting experience or just a small upgrade improvement? Will DA4 be grindy in loot discovery/crafting upgrades and in level progression (I'm thinking Anthem here)? BTW, I never bother with the herb gathering and potion making... a total waste of my playing experience.
My preference is finding quality loot over crap!. Why you ask? Well, I'll tell you. It's easier to manage my inventory. Why-oh-why No-News-Bio insists on giving us tiny inventory space is incomprehensible. Plus, why add the mechanic of weight? The game is not ( as Mike Laidlaw once said, "... a simulation").
Another interesting thing to me is where in DA4 will we find loot? Exploring? .. burial sites?... ancient abandoned temples?... via quests? ... Now my theory is that Tevinter would be a dry place to find loot seeing the abundance of mages there. So where?

That sounds promising. Likely we will be able to import our world state into the new game and they clearly want to make sure it runs okay without any hitches. Fingers crossed that means they are still on target for an autumn release. A little birdie also told me that there have been a lot of steam updates for the Dragon Age: Dreadwolf page in the last few days; most recent one was less than an hour ago. I wonder what changed. Everything looks the same to me.

Everything looks the same to me. It could be loading up art assets to be used ahead of a significant change. Or they’ve staged an update to be carried out with whatever announcement or reveal may be upcoming.

I'll admit I don't really know how these things work, but I would assume that the actual proper game would hit digital storefronts after it goes gold, like with physical stores?

It would seem a little weird to me if they were constantly updating the game build attached to the Steam page. I wouldn’t think they’d even do more than a placeholder until fairly close to release.
But I really don’t know what the common practices for such things are.

It's pretty much as I said it, with the inferences he's drawn from it. He's seen that the build has been updates all times of the day, and has increased in frequency (in particular these past few weeks). He's a freelance developer, and while he doesn't work in gaming himself he knows some devs from different studios, so he's familiar with how they work. He thinks something will be released in a not too distant future, but what that is he obviously can't say. He also found this, said it will be a symbol for the game:

Aard in Dreadwolf confirmed. (it's a kind of a magic sign in the Witcher 3 in case some don't know).

I guess they update the build so they can test it? And probably doing that a lot since they are showing something this summer? But I don't really know how these Steam updates work exactly other than I've seen people mention looking at Steam updates to get an idea of when new patches are coming for BG3.

Damn, not the A in Tales of Kenzera: Zau Someone at Bioware has some explaining to do More likely that was uploaded by EA social media people. There IS, however, another icon on the website: which, when blown up to be larger, looks like This looks like it might be more BioWare's speed. Maybe. Someone else I shared this with thought it looked like throwing knives, and I agree. Edit: Alternatively: Solas from the 2022 trailer had a knife: Edit again: I had speculated when the 2022 trailer came out that this might be the lyrium idol, and I still think that might be the case. You know, the whole "Now, the fate of this world teeters on a knife's edge." thing. Behold, A Knife™️ (This is half serious and half shitpost. But it would be really cool if there was a non-archer ranged rogue combat type that used throwing knifes. In DA:I we had enemies with polearms, and I was personally hoping that we'd get some more creative combat styles/weapons for DA:D since it's on Frostbite and does in at least some capacity build off of DA:I -- thinky thunk thoughts.)

And here I was certain medieval times had no socks... LOL
They absolutely had socks! In many places people wore hose (knee length for women, attached to the underwear for men) but in cold climates they'd put wooly socks over the top.
Socks are a very old human invention. We've even got letters from the wife of a of Roman soldier talking about having sent him extra pairs. (The soldier in question was stationed on Hadrian's Wall, so his poor feet must have been freezing.)
