well, from what I saw, excluding EA Sports games, since the beginning of 2023 most of EA games release dates were announced 4 months or more before the official release
but I would still be surprised with 4 months, so you got a point
also, the post from the Dragon Age account mentions that "they're making great progress towards the Fall launch", and Fall ends in December 21, so, we're less than 5 months away from the release of Veilguard
Jedi Survivor was announced ~2 months before its original release date, it was pushed back about a month afterward thought.
Their last few sport games have followed the trend as well.
And BioWare wants to avoid a post announcement delay according to a legit BioWare insider, so the gap might be even shorter than 2 months.
Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem, Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Not wanting to be hyped and set myself up but also thinking you are spouting a lot of logical statements and stuff I have been thinking about on my own.
Against my better judgment, I decided to get hyped after all
Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem, Mass Effect Legendary Edition
The idea that the release date announcement has to be at some event is weird to me. EA have been doing their release date announcement via press release and social media with no event happening at the same time for a few years now.
Indeed they've already announced when the ypla nt oreleas eFC25 an dthey did that straightawa ywith th eannounce trailer and it's quite possible they'll d othas twith Veilguard they don't necessaril yhave t odo tha ta tan even twhether the game is there o not. They could announce it any time at random wit ha trailer w ejus thave t ob epatient .Besides I' m about to start preppin my world state ready to go into Veilguard so that will take a whlie an wil lkeep me distracted enough for sure

Missing out on the biggest European video gaming convention is massive and completely wrecks my theory on DAVG marketing and release date. I'm genuinely at the loss here now, this makes no sense to me.

Kind of surprising given the timing of Gamescom seems ideal for games releasing in the fall, and they often have demos there. But I guess BioWare might just keep doing their own thing like with the gameplay reveal. I would love to see someone playing the game, not just prerecorded and edited gameplay like we have seen.

I kinda feel like we're like old time oracles, trying to read signs in animal bones and stuff like that lol.
For the sake of my sanity I think I'll just lean back and wait out the announcement of the release date - while I'm naturally curious, knowing it's scheduled for this fall has kinda calmed me down, and I'm prepared to kinda chill until further notice.
Regarding the CC on the other hand - I WANT IT BIOWARE, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, JUST LET ME SEE IT PLEEEEEEASE.

yeah, the time for Jedi Survivor was indeed really short!
here's hoping Bioware follows that example (without the delay )

I wouldn't go that far. Someone did make the point they don't need a big event to announce it but could just do their own thing even right around the same time as a big event like they did with the gameplay reveal.
Plus if I'm right about timezones as of this post none of the comic con stuff has actually happened yet and we still have the entire weekend to go, so patience.

It’s not going to affect the SDCC, so the panels will go on.
I wonder if it’s going to influence the release date.
It won't impact the game release, every indicator is that the game is complete and in the last polishing phase before release.
Well .... if so, the Bio insider had no reason to mention that EA does not want to hear a possible game delay. My take on this is the game state has issues.... possible the console to PC conversion. I would not be surprised if DA4 ships with bugs and "incompletes" that a later patch will fix.
Botton line... I'm in no hurry and will wait until the price drops.
