So if the Art Book Cover is teasing Meredith (or at least her sword), and the Veilguard mural is hinting at things to come, then I wonder if Cory (or another one of Magisters Sidereal) will also appear. I hope there won't be a Meredith statue who crawled from Kirkwall to Minrathous. I cannot deal with stuff like this. As for Corypheus, he really didn't have the best character development (he never wondered who tricked him to the golden city..) but whatever there are other magister sidereal if they want another one of those.

I don't think it's Meredith we will see necessarily, but perhaps a group that supports her vision? A strong anti-mage group perhaps?

More likely the Friday before, so people have the weekend to follow but who knows, it could be Wednesday. What day did they used to release the latest Call of Duty on? It used to be almost all games released on Tuesdays. But I've noticed in recent years more Friday release dates. And some games like Hogwarts Legacy (and looks like the new Assassin's Creed too) have official an release date on Friday but if you pre-order a deluxe edition you can play 3 days early on Tuesday. EA used to have a 3-day Early Access if you were a Pro subscriber. But they seem to have mostly dropped that schtick in the past few years. I think Tuesday has been the day of choice for the latest EA titles.

Re the release date, I replied the other day on Twitter to someone (might have actually been this forum's very own Hrungr?) that I'm hoping for October 25th since I'm off work that day and until the next Wednesday (for EGX/Comic Con + a couple of extra days off of work), perfect time for me and if the book is coming out 30th, 25th for the game seems likely! Regarding companion info, I had a quick Google and found this for Inquisition, July, similar to when we found out our Veilguard companions in June this year (and into July with the Game Informer coverage) www.eurogamer.net/these-are-your-party-members-companions-followers-in-dragon-age-inquisition Yeah that's wha tI'm workin gtowards as I'm playing ME atm currently just past the half way point in ME2 as I did Miranda's loyalt ymission and am goin gt opick up Thane next so I still hav eME 3an dAndromeda t odo though I ma yabandon Andromeda an dd othe playthrough I have planned for tha tat a later date if I getan invit eto beta test FC25. So if the Art Book Cover is teasing Meredith (or at least her sword), and the Veilguard mural is hinting at things to come, then I wonder if Cory (or another one of Magisters Sidereal) will also appear Okay, so I'm confused. How does having a couple of swords decorating a cover make the jump to Meredith is going to appear? We know her sword survived because Samson had it, so if anything he is the person we are likely to see in DAV. I'm not sure but I don't think any judgement actually results in his death does it? Alternatively, just his sword turns up somewhere like it did if you did the Templar path (I think). I have to admit I was rather puzzled by the information on the idol being reformed inside Meredith in Tevinter Nights because I thought she had had it melted down and made into Certainty. If the sword was absorbed into her statue, how come Samson had it? However, I suppose it could have been like the sword I mentioned in connection with Conan, so after Samson and the Inquisitor relinquished it, it just relocated back to Kirkwall. As for the Magisters Sidereal, we didn't see the Architect in DAI but presumably he isn't dead even if we "killed" him in Awakening. Also, there are probably at least 3 more wandering around out there probably suffering from amnesia after their god was killed (unless one of those was the one that was eaten by another) and there are the two whose god has not yet arisen but I have theorised in the past may be searching for them and are actually what is needed to free them. The Architect just wasn't aware of that fact when he "awoke" Urthemiel but he was the correct Magister to do this. Even Corypheus may not be dead as such but perhaps just some incorporeal spirit knocking around the Fade. May be he will drop in on Solas for tea and biscuits. Of course he will be disappointed because Solas doesn't serve tea.

I did see a vi dhintin gat th efact tha tMeredith could be alive again bu tdon' tknow if we'll b eseein gher in game. The Netflix series was meant to be a stand alone story. The Devs confirmed this. Now it may be there will not be a second series, although the chances of it being financed may go up if DAV is a success, but the idea was that the writer of Absolution could continue with their story without it impacting on events in the game and vice versa. So, no, Meredith will not be in DAV, thank goodness. I am getting a bit tired of killing villains in one game only for them to reappear in subsequent ones. I was prepared to stretch a point with Calpernia because she escapes capture and we never actually see her dead but, please, no one else.

Which also had very obvious set up within the DLC as well so if Caelpernia is excluded so should he be. Indeed Meredith seems to be the only one who could qualify.

She was wha twas effectivel ythe very first Red Templar so that may for the othe rRed Templars tha tare lef thold som significance. Hm.. Thane Picking him up was always a failure for me. The timer is simply to short and the "maze" disorienting. Missed a lot of dialogue. This is why BG3 is superior. It provides two+ ways of achieving your goal.

Aside from Corypheus who you got? Flemeth. We had the choice of killing her or coming to some arrangement in DAO. Then low and behold she pops up in DA2. Then we discover in DAI that she is in fact Mythal who was apparently killed in ancient times but survived by some means or other. The Architect. Originally they had planned on using him but then dropped the idea. So, potentially he could return and it also means that any other Magister Sidereal (of which there are at least 4, possibly 5 more) could appear as an antagonist who cannot be permanently killed. Urthemiel. Yes, we knew about the cheat death card that we used to allow this but it still meant that potentially the big bad could survive too. He seemed pretty innocent when we encounter him in DAI but then Flemeth absorbs him and perhaps they hope we will forget about it. However, it did spawn a whole load of theories about previous Archdemons surviving and even that Andraste was an OGB. The Venatori. Yes, I know they aren't an individual but a faction. I thought we had pretty much wiped out their leadership in the south (whilst the Archon was making similar arrangements in Tevinter) and such a blow would mean their supporters (of whom we killed a whole heap too) would find a different cause to support, even if it was only one with similar aims under a different name. Apparently, though, they are like cockroaches, no matter how hard to bash them, they keep coming back for more and don't mind associating themselves with a name linked to failure. Meredith. As you say, she qualifies. I was enjoying the Netflix series until the twist at the end. The only saving grace of that one is that it was a stand alone series but why on earth couldn't the writer have come up with a new villain instead of recycling an old one? Also, I almost forgot. The whole business with Cory's dragon was meant to be how we could kill him permanently. Then instead of killing him, we sent him into the Fade. I thought opening a rift inside him would have killed him but WoT2 said the Inquisition had mages checking the Fade to make sure he wasn't there. So, apparently they made us do something stupid that could have allowed his survival. Just because they didn't find him doesn't mean he didn't: the Fade is a pretty big place. I hope they come up with a permanent solution for the latest two gods to appear. Solas told us the reason he imprisoned the gods is because he couldn't guarantee he could kill them. This is slightly puzzling because presumably he knew that Mythal wasn't really dead in that case. Nevertheless, in view of the scenario they have set up with previous survivals we are faced with two antagonists that we know in advance can't be permanently killed. I wonder when someone is going to tell Rook this. It was laughable that no one seemed to fathom out how Cory could have survived, yet we had Leliana with us who was part of the Hero of Ferelden's allies and then Morrigan who absolutely knew about Archdemons' soul jumping ability and yet we had to wait until we see Cory burst out of a Grey Warden corpse (didn't he need a live one?) before people started saying, oh that's how it was done. Also, bloody Solas would have known but kept quiet for his own reasons when all he needed to do was say "I saw it in the Fade".

Theoretically, she is alive in another world state because of different choices that were made. Bringing back a "dead" char is only from the POV of the player that killed that NCP.

I take it you mean Calpernia and I get that distinction. If you do the mage path we never even encounter her so she definitely survives. As I say, her "death" was definitely ambiguous and she likely survives more than she dies in the majority of world states. Nevertheless, for those who did fight her, that is just another antagonist who doesn't really die. It isn't so much that they have an excuse for why she survived but that it is becoming so predictable.

Baldy can't kill them and thinks they cannot be killed? He could be wrong. Bio has a habit of introducing weird plot twists.

Baldy can't kill them and thinks they cannot be killed? He could be wrong. Bio has a habit of introducing weird plot twists. Yes and it wouldn't be the first time. However, based on what we know as players, it's not looking promising. My main point is that I will be waiting for someone to tell Rook straight off what the problem might be. Then we can spend time coming up with a solution. I don't want to spend the entire game as a player knowing how the wretches can survive if we off them but Rook is left in ignorance and then shock, horror, when they think they are dead, then revive in front of them or resurrect off screen and come back later and no one anticipated it.

I fno tmy plan is t ofinish ME an dthen do a run o fDragon Age whic hshould take m ethrough September following on from tha tI'll be playing Fifa/FC until Veilguard launches. Gettin gto pla ythe nw eFC gam eshould keep me busy enough until Veilguard launches anyway. Look slike I am going t opostpon e Andromeda I jus go tan invite to beta test FC25. Need to downloa di tthough o nm yXbox so I have a code for that I got an inviet for Fifa 23 and I reall yenjoyed that but I missed i tlast year. Probably just as well given I didn' tenjo yFC24 that much. FC 25's features look quie tpromising given I think it's goin gt ob eusing som eof the featuers Veilguards using to at leas twit hthings like the strand hair and wind physics and all that.

It does sound good, and it'll be interesting to see how this works in practice.

I am so hyped for this part of the game. Think partially because no official release date like I get hyped but it just hasn't sustained itself yet. But evrrytime I read their intentions with the companions such hype.

Not that imagine many here need it, but if you're switching over to PC, all the Dragon Age games are 90% off on Steam & EA Play right now.

It does sound good, and it'll be interesting to see how this works in practice. I do like how it's not centered on the player. The world doesn't revolve around you. That being said, I don't want to be accidentally left out of content, because I ran out of time too.
